Deuteronomy 27

1 Then Moses, with the elders of Israel, gave the people this order: "Keep all these commandments which I enjoin on you today.	1 E Mosè cogli anziani d'Israele diede al popolo quest'ordine: Osservate tutti i comandamenti che io oggi vi prescrivo.
2 On the day you cross the Jordan into the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster.	2 E quando, passato il Giordano, sarete entrati nella terra che il Signore Dio tuo ti darà, rizzerai delle grandi pietre e le intonacherai di calcina,
3 Also write on them, at the time you cross, all the words of this law, that you may thus enter into the land flowing with milk and honey, which the LORD, your God, and the God of your fathers, is giving you as he promised you.	3 per scriverci sopra tutte le parole di questa legge, appena passato il Giordano per entrare nella terra che il Signore Dio tuo ti darà, terra che stilla latte e miele, come Egli giurò ai tuoi padri.
4 When, moreover, you have crossed the Jordan, besides setting up on Mount Ebal these stones concerning which I command you today, and coating them with plaster,	4 Quando dunque avrete passato il Giordano, rizzate queste pietre di cui oggi vi parlo sul monte Ebal, e intonacatele di calcina.
5 you shall also build to the LORD, your God, an altar made of stones that no iron tool has touched.	5 Lassù edificherai al Signore Dio tuo un altare con pietre non tocche dal ferro,
6 You shall make this altar of the LORD, your God, with undressed stones, and shall offer on it holocausts to the LORD, your God.	6 con pietre gregge e non lavorate; e sopra di esso offrirai olocausti al Signore Dio tuo,
7 You shall also sacrifice peace offerings and eat them there, making merry before the LORD, your God.	7 immolerai ostie pacifiche e mangerai e banchetterai dinanzi al Signore Dio tuo.
8 On the stones you shall inscribe all the words of this law very clearly."	8 E su quelle pietre scriverai chiaramente e distintamente tutte le parole di questa legge.
9 Moses, with the levitical priests, then said to all Israel: "Be silent, O Israel, and listen! This day you have become the people of the LORD, your God.	9 Mosè e i sacerdoti della stirpe di Levi dissero ancora a tutto Israele: Ascolta attentamente, Israele: oggi tu sei diventato il popolo del Signore Dio tuo:
10 You shall therefore hearken to the voice of the LORD, your God, and keep his commandments and statutes which I enjoin on you today."	10 ascoltane adunque la voce, osserva i comandamenti e le leggi che io ti prescrivo.
11 That same day Moses gave the people this order:	11 E Mosè in quel giorno diede al popolo quest'ordine:
12 "When you cross the Jordan, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin shall stand on Mount Gerizim to pronounce blessings over the people,	12 Quando avrete passato il Giordano, ecco quelli che dovranno stare sul monte Garizim per benedire il popolo: Simeone, Levi, Giuda, Issacar, Giuseppe e Beniamino.
13 while Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses.	13 E dirimpetto, sul monte Ebal, a maledire, staranno questi altri: Ruben, Gad, Aser, Zàbulon, Dan, Nettali.
14 "The Levites shall proclaim aloud to all the men of Israel:	14 E i Leviti diranno solennemente ad alta voce a tutti gli uomini d'Israele:
15 'Cursed be the man who makes a carved or molten idol--an abomination to the LORD, the product of a craftsman's hands--and sets it up in secret!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	15 Maledetto l'uomo che fa imagine scolpita o di getto, cosa abbominevole pel Signore, opera di mano di artefici, e la colloca in luogo occulto. E tutto il popolo risponderà: Così sia.
16 'Cursed be he who dishonors his father or his mother!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	16 Maledetto chi non onora suo padre e sua madre. E tutto il popolo risponderà: Cosi sia.
17 'Cursed be he who moves his neighbor's landmarks!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	17 Maledetto chi sposta i termini del suo prossimo. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.
18 'Cursed be he who misleads a blind man on his way!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	18 Maledetto chi fa sbagliar la strada al cieco. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.
19 'Cursed be he who violates the rights of the alien, the orphan or the widow!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	19 Maledetto chi conculca i diritti del forestiero, dell'orfano e della vedova. E tutto il popolo dirà: Cosi sia.
20 'Cursed be he who has relations with his father's wife, for he dishonors his father's bed!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	20 Maledetto chi giace colla moglie di suo padre e scopre la coperta del suo talamo. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.
21 'Cursed be he who has relations with any animal!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	21 Maledetto chi pecca con qualsivoglia bestia. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.
22 'Cursed be he who has relations with his sister or his half-sister!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	22 Maledetto chi giace colla propria sorella, figlia di suo padre o di sua madre. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.
23 'Cursed be he who has relations with his mother-in-law!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	23 Maledetto chi giace colla sua suocera. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.
24 'Cursed be he who slays his neighbor in secret!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	24 Maledetto chi colpisce di nascosto il suo prossimo. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.
25 'Cursed be he who accepts payment for slaying an innocent man!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	25 Maledetto chi accetta doni per condannare a morte un innocente. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.
26 'Cursed be he who fails to fulfill any of the provisions of this law!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	26 Maledetto chi non s'attiene alle parole di questa legge e non le adempie con l'opere. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.
