Deuteronomy 27

1 Then Moses, with the elders of Israel, gave the people this order: "Keep all these commandments which I enjoin on you today.	1 Moisés y los ancianos de Israel dieron al pueblo esta orden: «Guardad todos los mandamientos que yo os prescribo hoy.
2 On the day you cross the Jordan into the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster.	2 Cuando paséis el Jordán para ir a la tierra que Yahveh tu Dios te da, erigirás grandes piedras, las blanquearás con cal,
3 Also write on them, at the time you cross, all the words of this law, that you may thus enter into the land flowing with milk and honey, which the LORD, your God, and the God of your fathers, is giving you as he promised you.	3 y escribirás en ellas todas las palabras de esta Ley, en el momento en que pases para entrar en la tierra que Yahveh tu Dios te da, tierra que mana leche y miel, como te ha dicho Yahveh el Dios de tus padres.
4 When, moreover, you have crossed the Jordan, besides setting up on Mount Ebal these stones concerning which I command you today, and coating them with plaster,	4 Y cuando hayáis pasado el Jordán, erigiréis estas piedras en el monte Ebal, como os lo mando hoy, y las blanquearéis con cal.
5 you shall also build to the LORD, your God, an altar made of stones that no iron tool has touched.	5 Levantarás allí en honor de Yahveh tu Dios un altar de piedras, sin labrarlas con el hierro.
6 You shall make this altar of the LORD, your God, with undressed stones, and shall offer on it holocausts to the LORD, your God.	6 Con piedras sin labrar harás el altar de Yahveh tu Dios, y sobre este altar ofrecerás holocaustos a Yahveh tu Dios.
7 You shall also sacrifice peace offerings and eat them there, making merry before the LORD, your God.	7 Allí también inmolarás sacrificios de comunión, los comerás y te regocijarás en presencia de Yahveh tu Dios.
8 On the stones you shall inscribe all the words of this law very clearly."	8 Escribirás en esas piedras todas las palabras de esta Ley. Grábalas bien».
9 Moses, with the levitical priests, then said to all Israel: "Be silent, O Israel, and listen! This day you have become the people of the LORD, your God.	9 Después Moisés y los sacerdotes levitas hablaron así a todo Israel: «Calla y escucha, Israel. Hoy te has convertido en el pueblo de Yahveh tu Dios.
10 You shall therefore hearken to the voice of the LORD, your God, and keep his commandments and statutes which I enjoin on you today."	10 Escucharás la voz de Yahveh tu Dios y pondrás en práctica los mandamientos y preceptos que yo te prescribo hoy».
11 That same day Moses gave the people this order:	11 Y Moisés ordenó aquel día al pueblo:
12 "When you cross the Jordan, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin shall stand on Mount Gerizim to pronounce blessings over the people,	12 Estos son los que se situarán en el monte Garizim para dar la bendición al pueblo, cuando hayáis pasado el Jordán: Simeón, Leví, Judá, Isacar, José y Benjamín;
13 while Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses.	13 y estos otros los que se situarán, para la maldición, en el monte Ebal: Rubén, Gad, Aser, Zabulón, Dan y Neftalí.
14 "The Levites shall proclaim aloud to all the men of Israel:	14 Los levitas tomarán la palabra y dirán en voz alta a todos los israelitas:
15 'Cursed be the man who makes a carved or molten idol--an abomination to the LORD, the product of a craftsman's hands--and sets it up in secret!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	15 Maldito el hombre que haga un ídolo esculpido o fundido, abominación de Yahveh, obra de manos de artífice, y lo coloque en un lugar secreto. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
16 'Cursed be he who dishonors his father or his mother!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	16 Maldito quien desprecie a su padre o a su madre. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
17 'Cursed be he who moves his neighbor's landmarks!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	17 Maldito quien desplace el mojón de su prójimo. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
18 'Cursed be he who misleads a blind man on his way!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	18 Maldito quien desvíe a un ciego en el camino. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
19 'Cursed be he who violates the rights of the alien, the orphan or the widow!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	19 Maldito quien tuerza el derecho del forastero, el huérfano o la viuda. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
20 'Cursed be he who has relations with his father's wife, for he dishonors his father's bed!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	20 Maldito quien se acueste con la mujer de su padre, porque descubre el borde del manto de su padre. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
21 'Cursed be he who has relations with any animal!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	21 Maldito quien se acueste con cualquier bestia. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
22 'Cursed be he who has relations with his sister or his half-sister!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	22 Maldito quien se acueste con su hermana, hija de su padre o hija de su madre. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
23 'Cursed be he who has relations with his mother-in-law!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	23 Maldito quien se acueste con su suegra. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
24 'Cursed be he who slays his neighbor in secret!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	24 Maldito quien mate a traición a su prójimo. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
25 'Cursed be he who accepts payment for slaying an innocent man!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	25 Maldito quien acepte soborno para quitar la vida a un inocente. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
26 'Cursed be he who fails to fulfill any of the provisions of this law!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'	26 Maldito quien no mantenga las palabras de esta Ley, poniéndolas en práctica. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.
