1 Moses then gave the Israelites these instructions, just as the LORD had ordered him.	1 Moisés referiu aos filhos de Israel tudo o que o Senhor lhe tinha mandado
2 Moses said to the heads of the Israelite tribes, "This is what the LORD has commanded:	2 e disse aos príncipes das tribos dos filhos de Israel: Eis o que o Senhor ordenou:
3 When a man makes a vow to the LORD or binds himself under oath to a pledge of abstinence, he shall not violate his word, but must fulfill exactly the promise he has uttered.	3 Se um homem fizer um voto ao Senhor ou se obrigar com juramento, não faltará à sua palavra, mas cumprirá tudo o que prometeu,
4 "When a woman, while still a maiden in her father's house, makes a vow to the LORD, or binds herself to a pledge,	4 Se uma mulher, ainda jovem, vivendo em casa de seu pai, fizer um voto e se obrigar com juramento, se o pai teve conhecimento do voto que ela fez e do juramento com que se obrigou, e não disse nada, ela está obrigada ao seu voto:
5 if her father learns of her vow or the pledge to which she bound herself and says nothing to her about it, then any vow or any pledge she has made remains valid.	5 cumprirá de facto tudo o que prometeu e jurou fazer.
6 But if on the day he learns of it her father expresses to her his disapproval, then any vow or any pledge she has made becomes null and void; and the LORD releases her from it, since her father has expressed to her his disapproval.	6 Porém, se o pai, logo que o soube, se opôs, tanto os votos como os juramentos dela serão nulos, e não ficará obrigada ao que prometeu porque o pai se opôs.
7 "If she marries while under a vow or under a rash pledge to which she bound herself,	7 Se tiver marido, e fizer algum voto, e uma palavra saída uma vez da sua boca obrigar a sua alma com juramento,
8 and her husband learns of it, yet says nothing to her that day about it, then the vow or pledge she had made remains valid.	8 se o seu marido, no dia em que tiver disso conhecimento, não se opuser, ela ficará obrigada ao voto, e cumprirá tudo o que prometeu.
9 But if on the day he learns of it her husband expresses to her his disapproval, he thereby annuls the vow she had made or the rash pledge to which she had bound herself, and the LORD releases her from it.	9 Mas, se o marido, no dia em que tiver disso conhecimento, se opuser, tornará nulas as suas promessas e as palavras com que se tinha obrigado, e o Senhor lhe perdoará.
10 The vow of a widow or of a divorced woman, or any pledge to which such a woman binds herself, is valid.	10 A viúva e a repudiada cumprirão todos os votos que fizerem,
11 "If it is in her husband's house that she makes a vow or binds herself under oath to a pledge,	11 A mulher que está em casa do marido, se se obrigar com voto ou juramento,
12 and her husband learns of it yet says nothing to express to her his disapproval, then any vow or any pledge she has made remains valid.	12 desde que o marido, ao sabê-lo, não diga nada, não se oponha à sua promessa, cumprirá tudo o que prometeu.
13 But if on the day he learns of them her husband annuls them, then whatever she has expressly promised in her vow or in her pledge becomes null and void; since her husband has annulled them, the LORD releases her from them.	13 Porém, se ele se opuser logo, não estará obrigada à promessa, porque o marido se opôs. O Senhor lhe perdoará.
14 "Any vow or any pledge that she makes under oath to mortify herself, her husband can either allow to remain valid or render null and void.	14 Se se comprometer por voto, ou se obrigar por juramento a afligir a sua alma, ficará ao arbítrio do marido ratificar ou anular tais compromissos.
15 But if her husband, day after day, says nothing at all to her about them, he thereby allows as valid any vow or any pledge she has made; he has allowed them to remain valid, because on the day he learned of them he said nothing to her about them.	15 Se o marido, tendo conhecimento disso, não disser nada, e diferir para outro dia o seu parecer, ela cumprirá tudo o que tiver prometido com voto, visto que o marido, logo que o soube, não disse nada.
16 If, however, he countermands them some time after he first learned of them, he is responsible for her guilt."	16 Se, porém, se opôs depois que o soube, levará ele sobre si a iniquidade dela.
17 These are the statutes which the LORD prescribed through Moses concerning the relationship between a husband and his wife, as well as between a father and his daughter while she is still a maiden in her father's house.	17 Estas são as leis que o Senhor intimou a Moisés (para serem observadas) entre o marido e a mulher, entre o pai e a filha, ainda jovem, que mora em casa de seu pai.
