1 Moses then gave the Israelites these instructions, just as the LORD had ordered him.	1 Mosè riferì agli Israeliti quanto il Signore gli aveva ordinato.
2 Moses said to the heads of the Israelite tribes, "This is what the LORD has commanded:	2 Mosè disse ai capi delle tribù degli Israeliti: "Questo il Signore ha ordinato:
3 When a man makes a vow to the LORD or binds himself under oath to a pledge of abstinence, he shall not violate his word, but must fulfill exactly the promise he has uttered.	3 Quando uno avrà fatto un voto al Signore o si sarà obbligato con giuramento ad una astensione, non violi la sua parola, ma dia esecuzione a quanto ha promesso con la bocca.
4 "When a woman, while still a maiden in her father's house, makes a vow to the LORD, or binds herself to a pledge,	4 Quando una donna avrà fatto un voto al Signore e si sarà obbligata ad una astensione, mentre è ancora in casa del padre, durante la sua giovinezza,
5 if her father learns of her vow or the pledge to which she bound herself and says nothing to her about it, then any vow or any pledge she has made remains valid.	5 se il padre, avuta conoscenza del voto di lei e dell'astensione alla quale si è obbligata, non dice nulla, tutti i voti di lei saranno validi e saranno valide tutte le astensioni alle quali si sarà obbligata.
6 But if on the day he learns of it her father expresses to her his disapproval, then any vow or any pledge she has made becomes null and void; and the LORD releases her from it, since her father has expressed to her his disapproval.	6 Ma se il padre, quando ne viene a conoscenza, le fa opposizione, tutti i voti di lei e tutte le astensioni alle quali si sarà obbligata, non saranno validi; il Signore la perdonerà, perché il padre le ha fatto opposizione.
7 "If she marries while under a vow or under a rash pledge to which she bound herself,	7 Se si marita quando è legata da voti o da un obbligo di astensione assunto alla leggera con le labbra,
8 and her husband learns of it, yet says nothing to her that day about it, then the vow or pledge she had made remains valid.	8 se il marito ne ha conoscenza e quando viene a conoscenza non dice nulla, i voti di lei saranno validi e saranno validi gli obblighi di astensione da lei assunti.
9 But if on the day he learns of it her husband expresses to her his disapproval, he thereby annuls the vow she had made or the rash pledge to which she had bound herself, and the LORD releases her from it.	9 Ma se il marito, quando ne viene a conoscenza, le fa opposizione, egli annullerà il voto che essa ha fatto e l'obbligo di astensione che essa si è assunta alla leggera; il Signore la perdonerà.
10 The vow of a widow or of a divorced woman, or any pledge to which such a woman binds herself, is valid.	10 Ma il voto di una vedova o di una donna ripudiata, qualunque sia l'obbligo che si è assunto, rimarrà valido.
11 "If it is in her husband's house that she makes a vow or binds herself under oath to a pledge,	11 Se una donna nella casa del marito farà voti o si obbligherà con giuramento ad una astensione
12 and her husband learns of it yet says nothing to express to her his disapproval, then any vow or any pledge she has made remains valid.	12 e il marito ne avrà conoscenza, se il marito non dice nulla e non le fa opposizione, tutti i voti di lei saranno validi e saranno validi tutti gli obblighi di astensione da lei assunti.
13 But if on the day he learns of them her husband annuls them, then whatever she has expressly promised in her vow or in her pledge becomes null and void; since her husband has annulled them, the LORD releases her from them.	13 Ma se il marito, quando ne viene a conoscenza, li annulla, quanto le sarà uscito dalle labbra, voti od obblighi di astensione, non sarà valido; il marito lo ha annullato; il Signore la perdonerà.
14 "Any vow or any pledge that she makes under oath to mortify herself, her husband can either allow to remain valid or render null and void.	14 Il marito può ratificare e il marito può annullare qualunque voto e qualunque giuramento, per il quale essa sia obbligata a mortificarsi.
15 But if her husband, day after day, says nothing at all to her about them, he thereby allows as valid any vow or any pledge she has made; he has allowed them to remain valid, because on the day he learned of them he said nothing to her about them.	15 Ma se il marito, da un giorno all'altro, non dice nulla in proposito, egli ratifica così tutti i voti di lei e tutti gli obblighi di astensione da lei assunti; li ratifica perché non ha detto nulla a questo proposito quando ne ha avuto conoscenza.
16 If, however, he countermands them some time after he first learned of them, he is responsible for her guilt."	16 Ma se li annulla qualche tempo dopo averne avuto conoscenza, porterà il peso della colpa della moglie".
17 These are the statutes which the LORD prescribed through Moses concerning the relationship between a husband and his wife, as well as between a father and his daughter while she is still a maiden in her father's house.	17 Queste sono le leggi che il Signore prescrisse a Mosè riguardo al marito e alla moglie, al padre e alla figlia, quando questa è ancora fanciulla, in casa del padre.
