Ezekiel 36

1 As for you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel: Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD!	1 Y tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza sobre las montañas de Israel. Tú dirás: ¡Montañas de Israel, escuchen la palabra del Señor!
2 Thus says the Lord GOD: Because the enemy has said of you, "Ha! the everlasting heights have become our possession"	2 Así habla el Señor: Porque el enemigo ha dicho contra ustedes: «¡Ah, estas alturas antiguas han pasado a ser posesión nuestra!».
3 (therefore prophesy in these words: Thus says the Lord GOD:); because you have been ridiculed and despised on all sides for having become a possession for the rest of the nations, and have become a byword and a popular jeer;	3 por eso, profetiza diciendo: Así habla el Señor: Sí, ustedes han sido devastadas y asediadas por todas partes, hasta convertirse en posesión del resto de las naciones, y han sido objeto de las habladurías y difamaciones de la gente.
4 therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD: (Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys, the desolate ruins and abandoned cities, which have been given over to the pillage and mockery of the remaining nations round about;	4 Por eso, montañas de Israel, escuchen la palabra del Señor: Así habla el Señor a las montañas, a las colinas, a los cauces de los torrentes y a los valles, a las ruinas desiertas y a las ciudades abandonadas, que han sido saqueadas y escarnecidas por el resto de las naciones vecinas.
5 therefore thus says the Lord GOD:) Truly, with burning jealousy I speak against the rest of the nations (and against all of Edom) who with wholehearted joy and utter contempt have considered my land their possession to be delivered over to plunder.	5 Por eso, así habla el Señor: Sí, en el ardor de mis celos, yo hablo contra el resto de las naciones contra todo Edom, que con el corazón desbordante de alegría y el alma llena de desprecio, se han atribuido la posesión de mi país, para destruirlo y saquearlo.
6 (Therefore, prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys: Thus says the Lord GOD:) With jealous fury I speak, because you have borne the reproach of the nations.	6 Por eso, profetiza sobre la tierra de Israel. Tú dirás a las montañas y a las colinas, a los cauces de los torrentes y a los valles: Así habla el Señor: Yo he hablado en mis celos y en mi furor, porque ustedes han soportado el oprobio de las naciones.
7 Therefore do I solemnly swear that your neighboring nations shall bear their own reproach.	7 Por eso, así habla el Señor: Juro con la mano levantada que son las naciones vecinas las que cargarán con su propia ignominia.
8 As for you, mountains of Israel, you shall grow branches and bear fruit for my people Israel, for they shall soon return.	8 Ustedes, en cambio, montañas de Israel, echarán ramas y producirán frutos para mi pueblo Israel, que ya está a punto de llegar.
9 See, I come to you, it is to you that I turn; you will be tilled and sown,	9 ¡Sí, yo voy hacia ustedes, me vuelvo hacia ustedes! Serán cultivadas y sembradas,
10 and I will settle crowds of men upon you, the whole house of Israel; cities shall be repeopled, and ruins rebuilt.	10 y multiplicaré sobre ustedes a los hombres de todo el pueblo de Israel. Las ciudades serán habitadas y las ruinas reconstruidas.
11 I will settle crowds of men and beasts upon you, to multiply and be fruitful. I will repeople you as in the past, and be more generous to you than in the beginning; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.	11 Multiplicaré sobre ustedes a hombres y animales, y ellos serán numerosos y fecundos. Haré que ustedes vuelvan a poblarse como en los tiempos antiguos y las haré más prósperas que al comienzo. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.
12 (My people Israel are the ones whom I will have walk upon you; they shall take possession of you, and you shall be their heritage. Never again shall you rob them of their children.)	12 Yo haré que los hombres de mi pueblo Israel caminen sobre ustedes, y ellos tomarán posesión de ti: tú serás una herencia para ellos y ya no los privarás de sus hijos.
13 Thus says the Lord GOD: Because they have said of you, "You are a land that devours men, and you rob your people of their children";	13 Así habla el Señor: Porque te han dicho: «Tú devoras a los hombres y privas de sus hijos a tu nación»,
14 therefore, never again shall you devour men or rob your people of their children, says the Lord GOD.	14 por eso, ya no volverás a devorar a los hombres ni a privar de sus hijos a tu nación –oráculo del Señor–.
15 No more will I permit you to hear the reproach of nations, or bear insults from peoples, or rob your people of their children, says the Lord GOD.	15 Nunca más te haré escuchar el ultraje de las naciones; ya no soportarás el oprobio de los pueblos ni privarás de sus hijos a tu nación –oráculo del Señor–.
16 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	16 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
17 Son of man, when the house of Israel lived in their land, they defiled it by their conduct and deeds. In my sight their conduct was like the defilement of a menstruous woman.	17 Hijo de hombre, cuando el pueblo de Israel habitaba en su propio suelo, lo contaminó con su conducta y sus acciones: su conducta era ante mí como la impureza de una mujer en su menstruación.
18 Therefore I poured out my fury upon them (because of the blood which they poured out on the ground, and because they defiled it with idols).	18 Entonces derramé mi furor sobre ellos, por la sangre que habían derramado sobre el país y los ídolos con que lo habían contaminado.
19 I scattered them among the nations, dispersing them over foreign lands; according to their conduct and deeds I judged them.	19 Los dispersé entre las naciones y ellos se diseminaron por los países. Los juzgué según su conducta y sus acciones.
20 But when they came among the nations (wherever they came), they served to profane my holy name, because it was said of them: "These are the people of the LORD, yet they had to leave their land."	20 Y al llegar a las naciones adonde habían ido, profanaron mi santo Nombre, haciendo que se dijera de ellos: «Son el pueblo del Señor, pero han tenido que salir de su país».
21 So I have relented because of my holy name which the house of Israel profaned among the nations where they came.	21 Entonces yo tuve compasión de mi santo Nombre, que el pueblo de Israel profanaba entre las naciones adonde había ido.
22 Therefore say to the house of Israel: Thus says the Lord GOD: Not for your sakes do I act, house of Israel, but for the sake of my holy name, which you profaned among the nations to which you came.	22 Por eso, di al pueblo de Israel: Así habla el Señor: Yo no obro por consideración a ustedes, casa de Israel, sino por el honor de mis santo Nombre, que ustedes han profanado entre las naciones adonde han ido.
23 I will prove the holiness of my great name, profaned among the nations, in whose midst you have profaned it. Thus the nations shall know that I am the LORD, says the Lord GOD, when in their sight I prove my holiness through you.	23 Yo santificaré mi gran Nombre, profanado entre las naciones, profanado por ustedes. Y las naciones sabrán que yo soy el Señor –oráculo del Señor– cuando manifieste mi santidad a la vista de ellas, por medio de ustedes.
24 For I will take you away from among the nations, gather you from all the foreign lands, and bring you back to your own land.	24 Yo los tomaré de entre las naciones, los reuniré de entre todos los países y los llevaré a su propio suelo.
25 I will sprinkle clean water upon you to cleanse you from all your impurities, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.	25 Los rociaré con agua pura, y ustedes quedarán purificados. Los purificaré de todas sus impurezas y de todos sus ídolos.
26 I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you, taking from your bodies your stony hearts and giving you natural hearts.	26 Les daré un corazón nuevo y pondré en ustedes un espíritu nuevo: les arrancaré de su cuerpo el corazón de piedra y les daré un corazón de carne.
27 I will put my spirit within you and make you live by my statutes, careful to observe my decrees.	27 Infundiré mi espíritu en ustedes y haré que signa mis preceptos, y que observen y practiquen mis leyes.
28 You shall live in the land I gave your fathers; you shall be my people, and I will be your God.	28 Ustedes habitarán en la tierra que yo ha dado a sus padres. Ustedes serán mi Pueblo y yo seré su Dios.
29 I will save you from all your impurities; I will order the grain to be abundant, and I will not send famine against you.	29 Los salvaré de todas sus impurezas. Llamaré al trigo y lo multiplicaré, y no enviaré más el hambre sobre ustedes.
30 I will increase the fruit on your trees and the crops in your fields; thus you shall no longer bear among the nations the reproach of famine.	30 Multiplicaré los frutos de los árboles y los productos de los campos, para que ya no tengan que soportar entre las naciones el oprobio del hambre.
31 Then you shall remember your evil conduct, and that your deeds were not good; you shall loathe yourselves for your sins and your abominations.	31 Ustedes se acordarán de su mala conducta y de sus acciones perversas, y sentirán asco de ustedes mismos a causa de sus culpas y sus abominaciones.
32 Not for your sakes do I act, says the Lord GOD--let this be known to you! Be ashamed and abashed because of your conduct, O house of Israel.	32 Yo no obro por consideración a ustedes, sépanlo bien –oráculo del Señor–. Sientan vergüenza y confusión por su conducta, pueblo de Israel.
33 Thus says the Lord GOD: When I purify you from all your crimes, I will repeople the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt;	33 Así habla el Señor: El día en que los purifique de todas sus culpas, yo poblaré las ciudades y las ruinas serán reconstruidas.
34 the desolate land shall be tilled, which was formerly a wasteland exposed to the gaze of every passer-by.	34 La tierra devastada será cultivada, después de haber sido una desolación a la vista de todos los que pasaban.
35 "This desolate land has been made into a garden of Eden," they shall say. "The cities that were in ruins, laid waste, and destroyed are now repeopled and fortified."	35 Entonces dirán: «Esta tierra había sido devastada, pero ahora es como un jardín de Edén; las ciudades estaban en ruinas, devastadas y derruidas, y ahora son plazas fuertes habitadas».
36 Thus the neighboring nations that remain shall know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt what was destroyed and replanted what was desolate. I, the LORD, have promised, and I will do it.	36 Y las naciones que hayan quedado alrededor de ustedes sabrán que yo, el Señor, he reconstruido lo que estaba derruido y replantado lo que había sido devastado. Yo, el Señor, lo he dicho y lo haré.
37 Thus says the Lord GOD: This also I will be persuaded to do for the house of Israel: to multiply them like sheep.	37 Así habla el Señor: Yo me dejaré buscar por el pueblo de Israel, para concederles también esto: los multiplicaré como un rebaño humano,
38 As with sacrificial sheep, the sheep of Jerusalem on its feast days, the cities which were in ruins shall be filled with flocks of men; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	38 Como un rebaño de ovejas consagradas; como el rebaño reunido en Jerusalén con motivo de sus fiestas. Así las ciudades en ruinas se llenarán de un rebaño humano, y sabrán que yo soy el Señor.
