2 When the just prevail, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.	2 Quando i giusti sono aggranditi, il popolo si rallegra; Ma quando gli empi signoreggiano, il popolo geme
3 He who loves wisdom makes his father glad, but he who consorts with harlots squanders his wealth.	3 L’uomo, che ama sapienza, rallegra suo padre; Ma il compagno delle meretrici dissipa i suoi beni
4 By justice a king gives stability to the land; but he who imposes heavy taxes ruins it.	4 Il re mantiene il paese con dirittura; Ma chi è dato a’ presenti lo distrugge
5 The man who flatters his neighbor is spreading a net under his feet.	5 L’uomo che lusinga il suo prossimo, Tende una rete davanti a’ passi di esso
6 The wicked man steps into a snare, but the just man runs on joyfully.	6 Nel misfatto dell’uomo malvagio vi è un laccio; Ma il giusto canterà, e si rallegrerà
7 The just man has a care for the rights of the poor; the wicked man has no such concern.	7 Il giusto prende conoscenza della causa de’ miseri; Ma l’empio non intende alcun conoscimento
8 Arrogant men set the city ablaze, but wise men calm the fury.	8 Gli uomini schernitori allacciano la città; Ma i savi stornano l’ira
9 If a wise man disputes with a fool, he may rage or laugh but can have no peace.	9 L’uomo savio che litiga con un uomo stolto, Or si adira, or ride, e non ha alcuna requie
10 Bloodthirsty men hate the honest man, but the upright show concern for his life.	10 Gli uomini di sangue odiano l’uomo intiero; Ma gli uomini diritti hanno cura della vita di esso

14 If a king is zealous for the rights of the poor, his throne stands firm forever.	14 Il trono del re, che fa ragione a’ miseri in verità, Sarà stabilito in perpetuo
15 The rod of correction gives wisdom, but a boy left to his whims disgraces his mother.	15 La verga e la correzione dànno sapienza; Ma il fanciullo lasciato in abbandono fa vergogna a sua madre
16 When the wicked prevail, crime increases; but their downfall the just will behold.	16 Quando gli empi crescono, cresce il misfatto; Ma i giusti vedranno la ruina di quelli
17 Correct your son, and he will bring you comfort, and give delight to your soul.	17 Gastiga il tuo figliuolo, e tu ne sarai in riposo; Ed egli darà di gran diletti all’anima tua
18 Without prophecy the people become demoralized; but happy is he who keeps the law.	18 Quando non vi è visione, il popolo è dissipato; Ma beato chi guarda la Legge
19 By words no servant can be trained; for he understands what is said, but obeys not.	19 Il servo non si corregge con parole; Benchè intenda, non però risponderà
20 Do you see a man hasty in his words? More can be hoped for from a fool!	20 Hai tu mai veduto un uomo precipitoso nel suo parlare? Vi è maggiore speranza d’uno stolto che di lui

24 The accomplice of a thief is his own enemy: he hears himself put under a curse, yet discloses nothing.	24 Chi partisce col ladro odia l’anima sua; Egli udirà l’esecrazione, e non però manifesterà il fatto
25 The fear of man brings a snare, but he who trusts in the LORD is safe.	25 Lo spavento dell’uomo gli mette un laccio; Ma chi si confida nel Signore sarà levato ad alto in salvo
26 Many curry favor with the ruler, but the rights of each are from the LORD.	26 Molti cercano la faccia di colui che signoreggia; Ma dal Signore procede il giudicio di ciascuno
27 The evildoer is an abomination to the just, and he who walks uprightly is an abomination to the wicked.	27 L’uomo iniquo è l’abbominio de’ giusti; E l’uomo che cammina dirittamente è l’abbominio dell’empio
