NEW AMERICAN BIBLEVULGATA
1 Of Solomon.1 Psalmus Asaph. Quam bonus Israël Deus,
his qui recto sunt corde !
2 O God, give your judgment to the king; your justice to the son of kings; That he may govern your people with justice, your oppressed with right judgment,2 Mei autem pene moti sunt pedes,
pene effusi sunt gressus mei :
3 That the mountains may yield their bounty for the people, and the hills great abundance,3 quia zelavi super iniquos,
pacem peccatorum videns.
4 That he may defend the oppressed among the people, save the poor and crush the oppressor.4 Quia non est respectus morti eorum,
et firmamentum in plaga eorum.
5 May he live as long as the sun endures, like the moon, through all generations.5 In labore hominum non sunt,
et cum hominibus non flagellabuntur.
6 May he be like rain coming down upon the fields, like showers watering the earth,6 Ideo tenuit eos superbia ;
operti sunt iniquitate et impietate sua.
7 That abundance may flourish in his days, great bounty, till the moon be no more.7 Prodiit quasi ex adipe iniquitas eorum ;
transierunt in affectum cordis.
8 May he rule from sea to sea, from the river to the ends of the earth.8 Cogitaverunt et locuti sunt nequitiam ;
iniquitatem in excelso locuti sunt.
9 May his foes kneel before him, his enemies lick the dust.9 Posuerunt in cælum os suum,
et lingua eorum transivit in terra.
10 May the kings of Tarshish and the islands bring tribute, the kings of Arabia and Seba offer gifts.10 Ideo convertetur populus meus hic,
et dies pleni invenientur in eis.
11 May all kings bow before him, all nations serve him.11 Et dixerunt : Quomodo scit Deus,
et si est scientia in excelso ?
12 For he rescues the poor when they cry out, the oppressed who have no one to help.12 Ecce ipsi peccatores, et abundantes in sæculo
obtinuerunt divitias.
13 He shows pity to the needy and the poor and saves the lives of the poor.13 Et dixi : Ergo sine causa justificavi cor meum,
et lavi inter innocentes manus meas,
14 From extortion and violence he frees them, for precious is their blood in his sight.14 et fui flagellatus tota die,
et castigatio mea in matutinis.
15 Long may he live, receiving gold from Arabia, prayed for without cease, blessed day by day.15 Si dicebam : Narrabo sic ;
ecce nationem filiorum tuorum reprobavi.
16 May wheat abound in the land, flourish even on the mountain heights. May his fruit increase like Lebanon's, his wheat like the grasses of the land.16 Existimabam ut cognoscerem hoc ;
labor est ante me :
17 May his name be blessed forever; as long as the sun, may his name endure. May the tribes of the earth give blessings with his name; may all the nations regard him as favored.17 donec intrem in sanctuarium Dei,
et intelligam in novissimis eorum.
18 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who alone does wonderful deeds.18 Verumtamen propter dolos posuisti eis ;
dejecisti eos dum allevarentur.
19 Blessed be his glorious name forever; may all the earth be filled with the LORD'S glory. Amen and amen.19 Quomodo facti sunt in desolationem ?
subito defecerunt : perierunt propter iniquitatem suam.
20 The end of the psalms of David, son of Jesse.20 Velut somnium surgentium, Domine,
in civitate tua imaginem ipsorum ad nihilum rediges.
21 Quia inflammatum est cor meum,
et renes mei commutati sunt ;
22 et ego ad nihilum redactus sum, et nescivi :
23 ut jumentum factus sum apud te,
et ego semper tecum.
24 Tenuisti manum dexteram meam,
et in voluntate tua deduxisti me,
et cum gloria suscepisti me.
25 Quid enim mihi est in cælo ?
et a te quid volui super terram ?
26 Defecit caro mea et cor meum ;
Deus cordis mei, et pars mea, Deus in æternum.
27 Quia ecce qui elongant se a te peribunt ;
perdidisti omnes qui fornicantur abs te.
28 Mihi autem adhærere Deo bonum est ;
ponere in Domino Deo spem meam :
ut annuntiem omnes prædicationes tuas
in portis filiæ Sion.
