1 A psalm of David, when he fled from his son Absalom.	1 Psaume de David. Quand il fuyait devant son fils Absalom.
2 How many are my foes, LORD! How many rise against me!	2 Yahvé, qu'ils sont nombreux mes oppresseurs, nombreux ceux qui se lèvent contre moi,
3 How many say of me, "God will not save that one." Selah	3 nombreux ceux qui disent de mon âme: "Point de salut pour elle en son Dieu! "
4 But you, LORD, are a shield around me; my glory, you keep my head high.	4 Mais toi, Yahvé, bouclier qui m'entoures, ma gloire! tu me redresses la tête.
5 Whenever I cried out to the LORD, I was answered from the holy mountain. Selah	5 A pleine voix je crie vers Yahvé, il me répond de sa montagne sainte.
6 Whenever I lay down and slept, the LORD preserved me to rise again.	6 Et moi, je me couche et m'endors, je m'éveille: Yahvé est mon soutien.
7 I do not fear, then, thousands of people arrayed against me on every side.	7 Je ne crains pas ces gens par milliers qui forment un cercle contre moi.
8 Arise, LORD! Save me, my God! You will shatter the jaws of all my foes; you will break the teeth of the wicked.	8 Lève-toi, Yahvé! Sauve-moi, mon Dieu! Tu frappes à la joue tous mes adversaires, les dents desimpies, tu les brises.
9 Safety comes from the LORD! Your blessing for your people! Selah	9 De Yahvé, le salut! Sur ton peuple, ta bénédiction!
