Psalms 127

Torna indietro

New American Bible Pattloch Bibel
1 A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD build the house, they labor in vain who build. Unless the LORD guard the city, in vain does the guard keep watch.1 [Ein Wallfahrtslied. Von Salomo.] Wenn der Herr das Haus nicht baut, mühen die Bauleute sich umsonst. Wenn der Herr die Stadt nicht bewacht, späht der Wächter umsonst.
2 It is vain for you to rise early and put off your rest at night, To eat bread earned by hard toil-- all this God gives to his beloved in sleep.2 Umsonst ist es, daß ihr früh euch erhebt und spät euch niedersetzt, das Brot der Mühsal zu essen. Ganz mit Recht gibt er seinen Geliebten den Schlaf. -
3 Children too are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb, a reward.3 Seht, eine Gabe vom Herrn sind Söhne, eine Belohnung die Leibesfrucht.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children born in one's youth.4 Wie Pfeile in der Hand des Kriegers sind die Söhne aus jungen Jahren.
5 Blessed are they whose quivers are full. They will never be shamed contending with foes at the gate.5 Glücklich der Mann, der mit solchen seinen Köcher gefüllt hat! Sie unterliegen nicht, wenn sie im Tor mit den Gegnern verhandeln.
