Psalms 123

NEW AMERICAN BIBLEKING JAMES BIBLE
1 A song of ascents. To you I raise my eyes, to you enthroned in heaven.1 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
2 Yes, like the eyes of a servant on the hand of his master, Like the eyes of a maid on the hand of her mistress, So our eyes are on the LORD our God, till we are shown favor.2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
3 Show us favor, LORD, show us favor, for we have our fill of contempt.3 Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
4 We have our fill of insult from the insolent, of disdain from the arrogant.4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.
