Sing praise, play music; proclaim all his wondrous deeds!2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!
Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!
Rely on the mighty LORD; constantly seek his face.4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!
Recall the wondrous deeds he has done, his signs and his words of judgment,5 Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.
You descendants of Abraham his servant, offspring of Jacob the chosen one!6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!
The LORD is our God who rules the whole earth.7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.
He remembers forever his covenant, the pact imposed for a thousand generations,8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,
Which was made with Abraham, confirmed by oath to Isaac,9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
And ratified as binding for Jacob, an everlasting covenant for Israel:10 He established it as a statute for Jacob, an everlasting covenant with Israel,
"To you I give the land of Canaan, your own allotted heritage."11 saying, 'To you I give a land, Canaan, your allotted birthright.'
When they were few in number, a handful, and strangers there,12 When they were insignificant in numbers, a handful of strangers in the land,
Wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another,13 wandering from country to country, from one kingdom and nation to another,
He let no one oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:14 he al owed no one to oppress them; for their sake he instructed kings,
" Do not touch my anointed, to my prophets do no harm."15 'Do not touch my anointed ones, to my prophets you may do no harm.'
Then he called down a famine on the land, destroyed the grain that sustained them.16 He cal ed down famine on the land, he took away their food supply;
He had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.17 he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.
They shackled his feet with chains; collared his neck in iron,18 So his feet were weighed down with shackles, his neck was put in irons.
Till his prediction came to pass, and the word of the LORD proved him true.19 In due time his prophecy was fulfilled, the word of Yahweh proved him true.
The king sent and released him; the ruler of peoples set him free.20 The king sent orders to release him, the ruler of nations set him free;
He made him lord over his palace, ruler over all his possessions,21 he put him in charge of his household, the ruler of al he possessed,
To instruct his princes by his word, to teach his elders wisdom.22 to instruct his princes as he saw fit, to teach his counsel ors wisdom.
Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob lived in the land of Ham.23 Then Israel migrated to Egypt, Jacob settled in the country of Ham.
God greatly increased his people, made them too many for their foes.24 He made his people increase in numbers, he gave them more strength than their enemies,
He turned their hearts to hate his people, to treat his servants unfairly.25 whose heart he turned to hate his own people, to double-cross his servants.
He sent his servant Moses, Aaron whom he had chosen.26 He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, the man of his choice.
They worked his signs in Egypt and wonders in the land of Ham.27 They worked there the wonders he commanded, marvels in the country of Ham.
He sent darkness and it grew dark, but they rebelled against his word.28 Darkness he sent, and darkness fel , but that nation defied his orders.
He turned their waters into blood and killed all their fish.29 He turned their rivers to blood, and kil ed al the fish in them.
Their land swarmed with frogs, even the chambers of their kings.30 Their country was overrun with frogs, even in the royal apartments;
He spoke and there came swarms of flies, gnats through all their country.31 at his word came flies, and mosquitoes throughout the country.
For rain he gave them hail, flashes of lightning throughout their land.32 He gave them hail as their rain, flames of fire in their land;
He struck down their vines and fig trees, shattered the trees of their country.33 he blasted their vine and their fig tree, and shattered the trees of the country.
He spoke and the locusts came, grass hoppers without number.34 At his word came locusts, hoppers beyond al counting;
They devoured every plant in the land; they ravaged the crops of their fields.35 they devoured every green thing in the land, devoured al the produce of the soil.
He struck down every firstborn in the land, the first fruits of all their vigor.36 He struck al the first-born in their land, the flower of all their manhood;
He brought his people out, laden with silver and gold; no stragglers among the tribes.37 he led Israel out with silver and gold; in their tribes there was none who stumbled.
Egypt rejoiced when they left, for panic had seized them.38 Egypt was glad at their leaving, for terror of Israel had seized them.
He spread a cloud as a cover, and made a fire to light up the night.39 He spread out a cloud to cover them, and fire to light up the night.
They asked and he brought them quail; with bread from heaven he filled them.40 They asked and he brought them quails, food from heaven to their hearts' content;
He split the rock and water gushed forth; it flowed through the desert like a river.41 he opened a rock, the waters gushed out, and flowed in dry ground as a river.
For he remembered his sacred word to Abraham his servant.42 Faithful to his sacred promise, given to his servant Abraham,
He brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with shouts of triumph.43 he led out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy.
He gave them the lands of the nations, the wealth of the peoples to own,44 He gave them the territories of nations, they reaped the fruit of other people's labours,
That they might keep his laws and observe his teachings. Hallelujah!45 on condition that they kept his statutes, and remained obedient to his laws.
