Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the peoples his deeds!1 Alleluia. Give glory to the Lord, and call upon his name: declare his deeds among the Gentiles.
Sing praise, play music; proclaim all his wondrous deeds!2 Sing to him, yea sing praises to him: relate all his wondrous works.
Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
Rely on the mighty LORD; constantly seek his face.4 Seek ye the Lord, and be strengthened: seek his face evermore.
Recall the wondrous deeds he has done, his signs and his words of judgment,5 Remember his marvellous works which he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth.
You descendants of Abraham his servant, offspring of Jacob the chosen one!6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant; ye sons of Jacob his chosen.
The LORD is our God who rules the whole earth.7 He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
He remembers forever his covenant, the pact imposed for a thousand generations,8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever: the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
Which was made with Abraham, confirmed by oath to Isaac,9 Which he made to Abraham; and his oath to Isaac:
And ratified as binding for Jacob, an everlasting covenant for Israel:10 And he appointed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting testament:
"To you I give the land of Canaan, your own allotted heritage."11 Saying: To thee will I give the land of Chanaan, the lot of your inheritance.
When they were few in number, a handful, and strangers there,12 When they were but a small number: yea very few, and sojourners therein:
Wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another,13 And they passed from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people.
He let no one oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:14 He suffered no man to hurt them: and he reproved kings for their sakes.
" Do not touch my anointed, to my prophets do no harm."15 Touch ye not my anointed: and do no evil to my prophets.
Then he called down a famine on the land, destroyed the grain that sustained them.16 And he called a famine upon the land: and he broke in pieces all the support of bread.
He had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.17 He sent a man before them: Joseph, who was sold for a slave.
They shackled his feet with chains; collared his neck in iron,18 They humbled his feet in fetters: the iron pierced his soul,
Till his prediction came to pass, and the word of the LORD proved him true.19 until his word came. The word of the Lord inflamed him.
The king sent and released him; the ruler of peoples set him free.20 The king sent, and he released him: the ruler of the people, and he set him at liberty.
He made him lord over his palace, ruler over all his possessions,21 He made him master of his house, and ruler of all his possession.
To instruct his princes by his word, to teach his elders wisdom.22 That he might instruct his princes as himself, and teach his ancients wisdom.
Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob lived in the land of Ham.23 And Israel went into Egypt: and Jacob was a sojourner in the land of Cham.
God greatly increased his people, made them too many for their foes.24 And he increased his people exceedingly: and strengthened them over their enemies,
He turned their hearts to hate his people, to treat his servants unfairly.25 He turned their heart to hate his people: and to deal deceitfully with his servants.
He sent his servant Moses, Aaron whom he had chosen.26 He sent Moses his servant: Aaron the man whom he had chosen.
They worked his signs in Egypt and wonders in the land of Ham.27 He gave them power to shew his signs, and his wonders in the land of Cham.
He sent darkness and it grew dark, but they rebelled against his word.28 He sent darkness, and made it obscure: and grieved not his words.
He turned their waters into blood and killed all their fish.29 He turned their waters into blood, and destroyed their fish.
Their land swarmed with frogs, even the chambers of their kings.30 Their land brought forth frogs, in the inner chambers of their kings.
He spoke and there came swarms of flies, gnats through all their country.31 He spoke, and there came divers sorts of flies and sciniphs in all their coasts.
For rain he gave them hail, flashes of lightning throughout their land.32 He gave them hail for rain, a burning fire in the land.
He struck down their vines and fig trees, shattered the trees of their country.33 And he destroyed their vineyards and their fig trees: and he broke in pieces the trees of their coasts.
He spoke and the locusts came, grass hoppers without number.34 He spoke, and the locust came, and the bruchus, of which there was no number.
They devoured every plant in the land; they ravaged the crops of their fields.35 And they devoured all the grass in their land, and consumed all the fruit of their ground.
He struck down every firstborn in the land, the first fruits of all their vigor.36 And he slew all the firstborn in their land: the firstfruits of all their labour.
He brought his people out, laden with silver and gold; no stragglers among the tribes.37 And he brought them out with silver and gold: and there was not among their tribes one that was feeble.
Egypt rejoiced when they left, for panic had seized them.38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them lay upon them.
He spread a cloud as a cover, and made a fire to light up the night.39 He spread a cloud for their protection, and fire to give them light in the night.
They asked and he brought them quail; with bread from heaven he filled them.40 They asked, and the quail came: and he filled them with the bread of heaven.
He split the rock and water gushed forth; it flowed through the desert like a river.41 He opened the rock, and waters flowed: rivers ran down in the dry land.
For he remembered his sacred word to Abraham his servant.42 Because he remembered his holy word, which he had spoken to his servant Abraham.
He brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with shouts of triumph.43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness.
He gave them the lands of the nations, the wealth of the peoples to own,44 And he gave them the lands of the Gentiles: and they possessed the labours of the people:
That they might keep his laws and observe his teachings. Hallelujah!45 That they might observe his justifications, and seek after his law.
