This is what the LORD then said to Moses:1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
"Tell the Israelites to take up a collection for me. From every man you shall accept the contribution that his heart prompts him to give me.2 “Speak to the sons of Israel, so that they may take the first-fruits to me. You shall accept these from every man who offers of his own accord.
These are the contributions you shall accept from them: gold, silver and bronze;3 Now these are the things that you must accept: Gold, and silver, and brass,
violet, purple and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair;4 hyacinth and purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, and fine linen, the hair of goats,
rams' skins dyed red, and tahash skins; acacia wood;5 and the skins of rams, dyed red, and skins of violet, and setim wood,
oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;6 oil to prepare lights, aromatics as ointments and sweet-smelling incense,
onyx stones and other gems for mounting on the ephod and the breastpiece.7 onyx stones and gems to adorn the ephod as well as the breastplate.
"They shall make a sanctuary for me, that I may dwell in their midst.8 And they shall make a sanctuary for me, and I will live in their midst.
This Dwelling and all its furnishings you shall make exactly according to the pattern that I will now show you.9 According to exact likeness of the tabernacle, and all of the vessels for its rituals, that I will reveal to you, so shall you make it.
"You shall make an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high.10 Join together an ark of setim wood, whose length shall hold two and one half cubits; the width, one and one half cubits; the height, likewise, one and one half cubits.
Plate it inside and outside with pure gold, and put a molding of gold around the top of it.11 And you shall overlay it with the finest gold, inside and out. And over it, you shall fashion a gold crown all around,
Cast four gold rings and fasten them on the four supports of the ark, two rings on one side and two on the opposite side.12 and four gold rings, which you shall set into the four corners of the ark. Let two rings be on one side and two on the other.
Then make poles of acacia wood and plate them with gold.13 Likewise, you shall make bars of setim wood and cover them with gold.
These poles you are to put through the rings on the sides of the ark, for carrying it;14 And you shall put them through the rings that are in the sides of the ark, so that it may be carried on them.
they must remain in the rings of the ark and never be withdrawn.15 These must always be in the rings, neither shall they ever be drawn out of them.
In the ark you are to put the commandments which I will give you.16 And you shall place the testimony, which I will give to you, in the ark.
"You shall then make a propitiatory of pure gold, two cubits and a half long, and one and a half cubits wide.17 You shall also make a propitiatory of the finest gold. Its length shall hold two and one half cubits, and the width, one and one half cubits.
Make two cherubim of beaten gold for the two ends of the propitiatory,18 Likewise, you shall make two Cherubim of formed gold, on both sides of the oracle.
fastening them so that one cherub springs direct from each end.19 Let one Cherub be on the one side, and the other be on the other.
The cherubim shall have their wings spread out above, covering the propitiatory with them; they shall be turned toward each other, but with their faces looking toward the propitiatory.20 And let them cover both sides of the propitiatory, spreading their wings and covering the oracle, and let them look out toward one another, their faces being turned toward the propitiatory, with which the ark is to be covered,
This propitiatory you shall then place on top of the ark. In the ark itself you are to put the commandments which I will give you.21 in which you will place the testimony that I will give to you.
There I will meet you and there, from above the propitiatory, between the two cherubim on the ark of the commandments, I will tell you all the commands that I wish you to give the Israelites.22 From there, I will warn you and speak to you, above the propitiatory and from the middle of the two Cherubim, which will be over the ark of the testimony, about everything that I will command of the sons of Israel through you.
"You shall also make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long, a cubit wide, and a cubit and a half high.23 You shall also make a table of setim wood, having two cubits of length, and one cubit in width, and one cubit and one half cubits in height.
Plate it with pure gold and make a molding of gold around it.24 And you shall overlay it with the purest gold. And you shall make it with a gold lip all around,
Surround it with a frame, a handbreadth high, with a molding of gold around the frame.25 and for the lip itself an engraved crown, four fingers high, and above it another little gold crown.
You shall also make four rings of gold for it and fasten them at the four corners, one at each leg,26 Likewise, you shall prepare four gold rings and set them in the four corners of the same table, over each foot.
on two opposite sides of the frame as holders for the poles to carry the table.27 Under the crown, there shall be gold rings, so that the bars may be put through them and the table may be carried.
These poles for carrying the table you shall make of acacia wood and plate with gold.28 Likewise, the bars themselves you shall make of setim wood, and surround them with gold, to lift up the table.
Of pure gold you shall make its plates and cups, as well as its pitchers and bowls for pouring libations.29 You shall also prepare small cups, as well as bowls, censers, and measuring cups, with which the libations shall be offered, out of the purest gold.
On the table you shall always keep showbread set before me.30 And you shall place upon the table the bread of the presence, in my sight always.
"You shall make a lampstand of pure beaten gold-its shaft and branches-with its cups and knobs and petals springing directly from it.31 You shall also make a lampstand, formed from the finest gold, along with its stem and arms, its bowl and little spheres, as well as the lilies proceeding from it.
Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand, three branches on one side, and three on the other.32 Six branches shall go out from the sides: three out of one side and three out of the other.
On one branch there are to be three cups, shaped like almond blossoms, each with its knob and petals; on the opposite branch there are to be three cups, shaped like almond blossoms, each with its knob and petals; and so for the six branches that extend from the lampstand.33 Three bowls, the size of nuts, shall be on each branch, and a little sphere with it, and a lily. And three similar bowls, in the likeness of nuts, shall be on the other branch, and a little sphere with it, and a lily. This shall be the form of the six branches, which are to proceed from the stem.
On the shaft there are to be four cups, shaped like almond blossoms, with their knobs and petals,34 Then, in the lampstand itself, there shall be four bowls, the size of nuts, and each with little spheres and lilies.
including a knob below each of the three pairs of branches that extend from the lampstand.35 Little spheres under two branches in three places, which together make six, shall proceed from one of the stems.
Their knobs and branches shall so spring from it that the whole will form but a single piece of pure beaten gold.36 Thus both the little spheres and the branches shall be made out of the same thing: entirely formed from the purest gold.
You shall then make seven lamps for it and so set up the lamps that they shed their light on the space in front of the lampstand.37 You shall also make seven lamps, and you shall place them upon the lampstand, so that they may give light in every direction.
These, as well as the trimming shears and trays, must be of pure gold.38 Likewise, the candle snuffers, and the place where the candles will be extinguished, shall be made from the purest gold.
Use a talent of pure gold for the lampstand and all its appurtenances.39 The entire weight of the candlestick, with all its parts, shall hold one talent of the purest gold.
See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.40 Observe, and then make it according to the example that was shown to you on the mountain.”
