1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh, for I have made him and his servants obdurate in order that I may perform these signs of mine among them	1 Így szólt ekkor az Úr Mózeshez: »Menj be a fáraóhoz, mert megkeményítettem a szívét, és szolgáinak szívét, hogy véghez vigyem rajta ezeket a jeleimet,
2 and that you may recount to your son and grandson how ruthlessly I dealt with the Egyptians and what signs I wrought among them, so that you may know that I am the LORD."	2 és hogy elbeszélhesd majd fiaidnak és unokáidnak, hányszor törtem meg az egyiptomiakat, s hogyan hajtottam végre rajtuk jeleimet. Így megtudjátok, hogy én vagyok az Úr!«
3 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and told him, "Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews: How long will you refuse to submit to me? Let my people go to worship me.	3 Bement tehát Mózes és Áron a fáraóhoz, és azt mondták neki: »Ezt üzeni az Úr, a héberek Istene: Meddig nem akarsz meghódolni előttem? Engedd el népemet, hogy áldozzék nekem!
4 If you refuse to let my people go, I warn you, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country.	4 Ha ellenszegülsz, s nem akarod elbocsátani, íme, holnap sáskát hozok határodra.
5 They shall cover the ground, so that the ground itself will not be visible. They shall eat up the remnant you saved unhurt from the hail, as well as all the foliage that has since sprouted in your fields.	5 Az úgy ellepi a föld színét, hogy semmi sem látszik ki belőle, és megeszi, ami a jégeső után megmaradt. Lerág minden fát, amely a mezőn kihajt,
6 They shall fill your houses and the houses of your servants and of all the Egyptians; such a sight your fathers or grandfathers have not seen from the day they first settled on this soil up to the present day." With that he turned and left Pharaoh.	6 ellepi házaidat és szolgáidnak, az összes egyiptominak a házát. Nem láttak annyit atyáid és őseid attól fogva, hogy megjelentek a földön, mindmáig!« Azzal megfordult, és kiment a fáraó színe elől.
7 But Pharaoh's servants said to him, "How long must he be a menace to us? Let the men go to worship the LORD, their God. Do you not yet realize that Egypt is being destroyed?"	7 Azt mondták erre a fáraó szolgái: »Meddig szenvedjük még ezt a veszedelmet? Engedd el azokat az embereket, hadd áldozzanak az Úrnak, az ő Istenüknek! Nem látod, hogy elpusztul Egyiptom?«
8 So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh, who said to them, "You may go and worship the LORD, your God. But how many of you will go?"	8 Visszahívták erre Mózest és Áront a fáraó elé, és ő azt mondta nekik: »Menjetek, áldozzatok az Úrnak, a ti Isteneteknek! Kik mennek el közületek?«
9 "Young and old must go with us," Moses answered, "our sons and daughters as well as our flocks and herds must accompany us. That is what a feast of the LORD means to us."	9 Azt mondta Mózes: »Kicsinyeinkkel és öregeinkkel együtt megyünk, fiainkkal és lányainkkal, juhainkkal és állatainkkal, mert ünnepe lesz az Úrnak, a mi Istenünknek!«
10 "The LORD help you," Pharaoh replied, "if I ever let your little ones go with you! Clearly, you have some evil in mind.	10 A fáraó azt felelte erre: »Úgy legyen az Úr veletek, ahogy én elengedlek titeket és gyermekeiteket! Ki vonhatná kétségbe, hogy a szándékotok gonosz?
11 No, no! Just you men can go and worship the LORD. After all, that is what you want." With that they were driven from Pharaoh's presence.	11 Nem jó lesz ez! Menjetek egyedül ti, férfiak, és áldozzatok az Úrnak, hisz magatok is ezt kértétek!« Mindjárt ki is kergették őket a fáraó színe elől.
12 The LORD then said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt, that locusts may swarm over it and eat up all the vegetation and whatever the hail has left."	12 Így szólt erre az Úr Mózeshez: »Nyújtsd ki kezed Egyiptom földje fölé, hogy sáskák szálljanak rá, és faljanak fel minden füvet, amely a jégesőből megmaradt!«
13 So Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and the LORD sent an east wind blowing over the land all that day and all that night. At dawn the east wind brought the locusts.	13 Erre Mózes kinyújtotta botját Egyiptom földje fölé, az Úr pedig forró szelet küldött azon az egész napon és éjszakán át. Amikor reggel lett, a forró szél előhozta a sáskákat.
14 They swarmed over the whole land of Egypt and settled down on every part of it. Never before had there been such a fierce swarm of locusts, nor will there ever be.	14 Megszállták Egyiptom egész földjét, és leszálltak az egyiptomiak egész területére oly nagy számban, hogy annyi sem azelőtt nem volt, sem azután nem lesz.
15 They covered the surface of the whole land, till it was black with them. They ate up all the vegetation in the land and the fruit of whatever trees the hail had spared. Nothing green was left on any tree or plant throughout the land of Egypt.	15 Ellepték a föld egész színét, és elsötétedett a föld. Felfalták a föld füvét és a fák minden gyümölcsét, amelyet a jégeső meghagyott, úgyhogy nem maradt semmi zöld sem a fákon, sem a mező füvén egész Egyiptomban.
16 Hastily Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "I have sinned against the LORD, your God, and against you.	16 Erre a fáraó sietve hívatta Mózest és Áront, és azt mondta nekik: »Vétkeztem az Úr, a ti Istenetek ellen és ellenetek!
17 But now, do forgive me my sin once more, and pray the LORD, your God, to take at least this deadly pest from me."	17 De bocsássátok meg még egyszer vétkemet, és könyörögjetek az Úrhoz, a ti Istenetekhez, hogy vigye el ezt a halált rólam!«
18 When Moses left the presence of Pharaoh, he prayed to the LORD,	18 Amikor aztán Mózes kiment a fáraó színe elől, könyörgött az Úrhoz,
19 and the LORD changed the wind to a very strong west wind, which took up the locusts and hurled them into the Red Sea. But though not a single locust remained within the confines of Egypt,	19 és az Úr igen erős nyugati szelet támasztott. Az felkapta a sáskákat, és belesöpörte a Vörös-tengerbe. Nem maradt egy sem Egyiptom egész területén.
20 the LORD made Pharaoh obstinate, and he would not let the Israelites go.	20 Ám az Úr megkeményítette a fáraó szívét, és ő nem engedte el Izrael fiait.
21 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that over the land of Egypt there may be such intense darkness that one can feel it."	21 Így szólt ekkor az Úr Mózeshez: »Nyújtsd ki kezedet az ég felé, és olyan sűrű sötétség legyen Egyiptom földjén, hogy meg lehessen tapogatni!«
22 So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was dense darkness throughout the land of Egypt for three days.	22 Kinyújtotta erre Mózes a kezét az ég felé, és iszonyú sötétség lett Egyiptom egész földjén három napig.
23 Men could not see one another, nor could they move from where they were, for three days. But all the Israelites had light where they dwelt.	23 Senki sem látta a testvérét, és senki sem mozdult ki arról a helyről, ahol volt. Ahol azonban Izrael fiai laktak, ott világos volt.
24 Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Go and worship the LORD. Your little ones, too, may go with you. But your flocks and herds must remain."	24 Hívatta erre a fáraó Mózest és Áront, és azt mondta nekik: »Menjetek, áldozzatok az Úrnak; csak juhaitok és jószágaitok maradjanak itt, gyermekeitek elmehetnek veletek!«
25 Moses replied, "You must also grant us sacrifices and holocausts to offer up to the LORD, our God.	25 Mózes erre azt felelte: »Vágóáldozatot, és egészen elégő áldozatot is kell adnod nekünk, hogy bemutathassuk az Úrnak, a mi Istenünknek!
26 Hence, our livestock also must go with us. Not an animal must be left behind. Some of them we must sacrifice to the LORD, our God, but we ourselves shall not know which ones we must sacrifice to him until we arrive at the place itself."	26 Minden nyájunknak velünk kell jönnie, egy pata sem maradhat itt, mert abból vesszük majd, ami szükséges az Úrnak, a mi Istenünknek tiszteletéhez – annál is inkább, mivel nem is tudjuk, mit kell majd áldoznunk, amíg arra a helyre nem jutunk!«
27 But the LORD made Pharaoh obstinate, and he would not let them go.	27 Ám az Úr megkeményítette a fáraó szívét, és ő nem akarta elengedni őket.
28 "Leave my presence," Pharaoh said to him, "and see to it that you do not appear before me again! The day you appear before me you shall die!"	28 Sőt, a fáraó azt mondta neki: »Távozz tőlem! És vigyázz, a színem elé ne kerülj többé, mert amely napon elém jössz, meghalsz!«
29 Moses replied, "Well said! I will never appear before you again."	29 Mózes azt felelte: »Úgy lesz, ahogy mondtad: nem fogok többé a színed elé kerülni!«
