1 and then God remembered Noah and all the animals, wild and tame, that were with him in the ark. So God made a wind sweep over the earth, and the waters began to subside.	1 Ma il Signore ricordandosi di Noè, e di tutti gli animali, e di tutti i giumenti che erano con esso nell'arca, mandò il vento sopra la terra, e le acque diminuirono.
2 The fountains of the abyss and the floodgates of the sky were closed, and the downpour from the sky was held back.	2 E furon chiuse le sorgenti del grande abisso, e le cataratte del cielo; e furono vietate le pioggie dal cielo.
3 Gradually the waters receded from the earth. At the end of one hundred and fifty days, the waters had so diminished	3 E le acque andando, e venendo si partivano dalla terra: e principiarono a scemare dopo cento cinquanta giorni.
4 that, in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.	4 E l'arca si posò il settimo mese a' ventisette del mese sopra i monti d'Armenia.
5 The waters continued to diminish until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains appeared.	5 E le acque andavano scemando sino al decimo mese: perocché il decimo mese, il primo giorno del mese, si scoprirono le vette dei monti.
6 At the end of forty days Noah opened the hatch he had made in the ark,	6 E passati quaranta giorni, Noè, aperta la finestra, che avea fatta all'arca, mandò fuori il corvo:
7 and he sent out a raven, to see if the waters had lessened on the earth. It flew back and forth until the waters dried off from the earth.	7 Il quale uscì, e non tornò fino a tanto che le acque fosser seccate sulla terra.
8 Then he sent out a dove, to see if the waters had lessened on the earth.	8 Mandò ancora dopo di lui la colomba, per vedere se fossero finite le acque sopra la faccia della terra.
9 But the dove could find no place to alight and perch, and it returned to him in the ark, for there was water all over the earth. Putting out his hand, he caught the dove and drew it back to him inside the ark.	9 La quale non avendo trovato, ove fermare il suo piede, tornò a lui nell'arca: perocché per tutta la terra eran le acque; ed egli stese la mano, e presala la mise dentro l'arca.
10 He waited seven days more and again sent the dove out from the ark.	10 E avendo aspettato sette altri giorni, mandò di nuovo la colomba fuori dell'arca.
11 In the evening the dove came back to him, and there in its bill was a plucked-off olive leaf! So Noah knew that the waters had lessened on the earth.	11 Ma ella tornò a lui alla sera, portando in bocca un ramo di ulivo con verdi foglie. Intese adunque Noè, come le acque erano cessate sopra la terra.
12 He waited still another seven days and then released the dove once more; and this time it did not come back.	12 E aspettò nondimeno sette altri giorni, e rimandò la colomba, la quale più non tornò a lui.
13 In the six hundred and first year of Noah's life, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the water began to dry up on the earth. Noah then removed the covering of the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was drying up.	13 L'anno adunque secentesimo primo di Noè, il primo mese, il dì primo del mese, le acque lasciaron la terra: e Noè avendo scoperchiato il tetto dell'arca mirò, e vide, che la superficie della terra era asciutta.
14 In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.	14 Il secondo mese, a' ventisette del mese, la terra rimase arida.
15 Then God said to Noah:	15 E Dio parlò a Noè, dicendo:
16 "Go out of the ark, together with your wife and your sons and your sons' wives.	16 Esci dall'arca tu, e la tua moglie, i tuoi figliuoli e le mogli de' tuoi figliuoli con te.
17 Bring out with you every living thing that is with you--all bodily creatures, be they birds or animals or creeping things of the earth-and let them abound on the earth, breeding and multiplying on it."	17 Conduci teco fuori tutti gli animali, che sono insieme con te, di ogni genere, tanto volatili, che bestie, e rettili, che strisciano sulla terra, e scendete sulla terra: Crescete e moltiplicate.
18 So Noah came out, together with his wife and his sons and his sons' wives;	18 E uscì Noè, e con esso i figliuoli di lui, e la sua moglie, e le mogli de' suoi figliuoli.
19 and all the animals, wild and tame, all the birds, and all the creeping creatures of the earth left the ark, one kind after another.	19 E tutti ancora gli animali, e le bestie e i rettili, che strisciano sulla terra, secondo la loro specie, uscirono dell'arca.
20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and choosing from every clean animal and every clean bird, he offered holocausts on the altar.	20 E Noè edificò un altare al Signore: e prendendo di tutte le bestie, e uccelli mondi, gli offerì in olocausto sopra l'altare.
21 When the LORD smelled the sweet odor, he said to himself: "Never again will I doom the earth because of man, since the desires of man's heart are evil from the start; nor will I ever again strike down all living beings, as I have done.	21 E il Signore gradì il soave odore, e disse: Io non maledirò mai più la terra per le colpe degli uomini: perocché la mente, e i pensieri degli uomini sono inclinati al male fin dall'adolescenza: io adunque non manderò più flagello sopra tutti i viventi, come ho fatto.
22 As long as the earth lasts, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, Summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."	22 Per tutti i giorni della terra non mancherà giammai la semenza e la messe, il freddo e il calore, l'estate e il verno, la notte e il giorno.
