1 Israel set out with all that was his. When he arrived at Beer-sheba, he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.	1 Israele dunque levò le tende con tutto il suo avere e arrivò a Bersabea, dove offrì sacrifici al Dio di suo padre Isacco.
2 There God, speaking to Israel in a vision by night, called, "Jacob! Jacob!" "Here I am," he answered.	2 Dio disse a Israele in una visione notturna: "Giacobbe, Giacobbe!". Rispose: "Eccomi!".
3 Then he said: "I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for there I will make you a great nation.	3 Riprese: "Io sono Dio, il Dio di tuo padre. Non temere di scendere in Egitto, perché laggiù io farò di te un grande popolo.
4 Not only will I go down to Egypt with you; I will also bring you back here, after Joseph has closed your eyes."	4 Io scenderò con te in Egitto e io te ne farò anche risalire. E sarà Giuseppe che ti chiuderà gli occhi".
5 So Jacob departed from Beer-sheba, and the sons of Israel put their father and their wives and children on the wagons that Pharaoh had sent for his transport.	5 Poi Giacobbe si levò da Bersabea e i figli di Israele fecero montare il loro padre Giacobbe, i loro bambini e le loro donne sui carri che il faraone aveva mandato per trasportarlo.
6 They took with them their livestock and the possessions they had acquired in the land of Canaan. 22 These were the sons whom Rachel bore to Jacob--fourteen persons in all.	22 Questi sono i figli che Rachele partorì a Giacobbe; in tutto sono quattordici persone.
23 The sons of Dan: Hushim.	23 I figli di Dan: Usim.
24 The sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem.	24 I figli di Neftali: Iacseel, Guni, Ieser e Sillem.
25 These were the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban had given to his daughter Rachel; these she bore to Jacob--seven persons in all.	25 Questi sono i figli di Bila, che Làbano diede alla figlia Rachele, che essa partorì a Giacobbe; in tutto sette persone.
26 Jacob's people who migrated to Egypt--his direct descendants, not counting the wives of Jacob's sons--numbered sixty-six persons in all.	26 Tutte le persone appartenenti a Giacobbe, uscite dai suoi fianchi, che entrarono in Egitto, senza contare le mogli dei figli di Giacobbe, sono sessantasei.
27 Together with Joseph's sons who were born to him in Egypt--two persons--all the people comprising Jacob's family who had come to Egypt amounted to seventy persons in all.	27 I figli di Giuseppe, che gli nacquero in Egitto, sono due persone. 29 Joseph hitched the horses to his chariot and rode to meet his father Israel in Goshen. 31 Joseph then said to his brothers and his father's household: "I will go and inform Pharaoh, telling him: 'My brothers and my father's household, whose home is in the land of Canaan, have come to me.	31 Allora Giuseppe disse ai suoi fratelli e alla famiglia di suo padre: "Vado a informare il faraone in questi termini: "I miei fratelli e la famiglia di mio padre, che erano nella terra di Canaan, sono venuti da me.
32 The men are shepherds, having long been keepers of livestock; and they have brought with them their flocks and herds, as well as everything else they own.'	32 Ora questi uomini sono pastori di gregge perché sono sempre stati gente dedita al bestiame, e hanno condotto i loro greggi, i loro armenti e tutto il loro avere".
33 So when Pharaoh summons you and asks what your occupation is,	33 Quando dunque il faraone vi chiamerà e vi domanderà: "Qual è il vostro mestiere?", voi rispondete:
34 you must answer, 'We your servants, like our ancestors, have been keepers of livestock from the beginning until now,' in order that you may stay in the region of Goshen, since all shepherds are abhorrent to the Egyptians."	34 "Gente dedita al bestiame sono stati i tuoi servi, dalla nostra fanciullezza fino ad ora, sia noi che i nostri padri". Questo allo scopo di poter risiedere nella terra di Gosen". Perché tutti i pastori di greggi sono un abominio per gli Egiziani.
