Ezechiele 35

1 E IL Signore parlommi, dicendo:	1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:
2 Figliuolo dell'uomo, volgi la tua faccia verso il monte di Seir, e profeterai intorno ad esso, e gli dirai:	2 Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it.
3 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi a te, o monte di Seir, ed io stenderò la mia mano sopra di te, e ti renderò desolato, e deserto.	3 Say to it: Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Mount Seir. I will stretch out my hand against you and make you a desolate waste.
4 Io demolirò le tue città, e tu sarai disabitato, e conoscerai, ch'io sono il Signore.	4 Your cities I will turn into ruins, and you shall be a waste; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.
5 Perchè tu se' stato nemico eterno, e colla spada alla mano chiudesti a' figliuoli di Israele lo scampo nel tempo della loro afflizione, e nel tempo di estrema calamità;	5 Because you never let die your hatred for the Israelites, whom you delivered over to the power of the sword at the time of their trouble, when their crimes came to an end,
6 Per questo io giuro (dice il Signore Dio), che io ti abbandonerò al sangue, e il sangue ti perseguiterà, e, avendo tu odiato il sangue, il sangue ti perseguiterà,	6 therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, you have been guilty of blood, and blood, I swear, shall pursue you.
7 E renderò desolato, e deserto il monte di Seir, e farò, che non vi sia più chi vada, e chi venga.	7 I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste, and cut off from it any traveler.
8 E i monti di lei empierò de' suoi uccisi: su' tuoi colli, e pelle tue valli, e pe' torrenti caderanno uccisi di spada.	8 With the slain I will fill your hills, your valleys, and all your ravines (in them the slain shall fall by the sword):
9 Ti ridurrò in solitudini eterne, e le tue città non saranno abitate; e conoscerete, ch'io sono il Signore Dio:	9 desolate will I make you forever, and leave your cities without inhabitants; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.
10 Perchè tu dicesti: Due genti, e due regioni saranno mie, ed io le possederò in retaggio, quando ivi si stava il Signore;	10 Because you said: The two nations and the two lands have become mine; we shall possess them--although the LORD was there--
11 Per questo io giuro, dice il Signore Dio, io ti tratterò come merita la tua ira, e la tua invidia, e l'odio contro di essi; ed io sarò conosciuto per mezzo di essi, quando avrò fatto giudizio di te.	11 therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will deal with you according to your anger and your envy which you have exercised (in your hatred) against them. I will make myself known among you when I judge you,
12 E conoscerai, che io il Signore ho uditi tutti gli obbrobri, che tu hai detti contro i monti d'Israele, dicendo: Sono in abbandono, sono dati a noi, perchè li divoriamo.	12 and you shall know that I am the LORD. I have heard all the contemptuous things you have uttered against the mountains of Israel: "They are desolate, they have been given us to devour."
13 E vi siete alzati contro di me colla vostra lingua, e gettaste contro di me le vostre parole: io le udii.	13 I have heard the insolent and wild words you have spoken against me.
14 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Con giubilo di tutta la terra io ti ridurrò in solitudine.	14 Thus says the Lord GOD: Just as you rejoiced over my land because it was desolate, so will I do to you.
15 Siccome tu facesti festa sopra l'eredità della casa d'Israele, perchè era dissipata, cosi io farò a te: tu, o monte di Seir, sarai devastato, e tu, Idumea, tutta quanta: e conosceranno, ch'io sono il Signore.	15 In keeping with your glee over the devastation of the inheritance of the house of Israel, so will I treat you. A waste shall you be, Mount Seir, you and the whole of Edom. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
