1 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:	1 - Ogni sommo sacerdote, proveniente dagli uomini, è costituito a vantaggio degli uomini per i loro rapporti con Dio, allo scopo di offrire oblazioni e sacrifizi per i peccati;
2 Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.	2 egli può essere indulgente verso gli ignoranti e i traviati,
3 And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.	3 poichè anch'egli è soggetto a debolezza, e per questo deve, come per il popolo, così per se stesso soffrire sacrifici in espiazione dei peccati.
4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.	4 E non v'è alcuno che assuma da sè la dignità, ma vi è chiamato da Dio, com'è il caso di Aronne.
5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.	5 Così anche Cristo non s'arrogò da sè la gloria di diventare Sommo Sacerdote, ma gliela diede Colui che disse: «Tu sei figlio mio, oggi io ti ho generato»;
6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.	6 come anche in altro luogo dice: «Tu sei sacerdote in eterno secondo l'ordine di Melchisedec».
7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;	7 Egli nei giorni della sua vita nella carne, avendo con forti grida e lagrime, presentato preghiere e supplicazioni a chi lo poteva salvare dalla morte; ed essendo stato esaudito a cagion della sua pietà,
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;	8 pur essendo Figlio, imparò da quel che sofferse a obbedire,
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;	9 e giunto alla perfezione, divenne per tutti quelli che gli obbediscono, cagione di eterna salvezza,
10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.	10 proclamato da Dio Sommo Sacerdote secondo l'ordine di Melchisedec.
11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.	11 Intorno a ciò è lungo il mio discorso e difficile a spiegare, perchè voi siete diventati lenti a capire.
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.	12 Poichè mentre per il tempo dovreste essere maestri, avete ancora bisogno vi s'insegnino i primi elementi della parola di Dio, e siete diventati bisognosi di latte piuttosto che di nutrimento solido.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.	13 Chi prende ancora latte, non ha esperienza del discorso della giustizia, essendo ancora bambino;
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.	14 il cibo solido è solo quello degli uomini fatti, cioè di quelli che per la pratica hanno le facoltà esercitate al discernimento del bene e del male.
