1 Let brotherly love continue.	1 Soyez hospitaliers, vous.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.	2 Sachez recevoir les autres, vous savez que certains ont ainsi reçu des anges sans s’en douter.
3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.	3 Pensez aux prisonniers comme si vous étiez en prison avec eux. Pensez à ceux qui souffrent: vous avez, vous aussi, un corps.
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.	4 Que tous respectent le mariage; ne souillez pas votre union, car vous savez que Dieu punit les impurs et les adultères.
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.	5 Ne courez pas après l’argent, sachez vivre avec ce que vous avez. Lui-même a dit: Je ne te laisserai pas, je ne t’abandonnerai pas.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.	6 Vous pouvez donc dire avec assurance: Le Seigneur est avec moi et je ne crains pas; que pourrait me faire un mortel?
7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.	7 Souvenez-vous de vos guides qui vous ont donné la parole de Dieu. Voyez comment ils ont quitté cette vie et imitez leur foi.
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.	8 Jésus Christ est le même, hier et aujourd’hui, et pour tous les siècles.
9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.	9 Ne vous laissez pas prendre par les doctrines de toutes sortes et de partout. La grâce est le bon moyen pour fortifier la vie intérieure, et non pas ces autres aliments dont personne n’a tiré profit.
10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.	10 Nous avons nous aussi notre table, mais on ne peut en profiter tant qu’on prend part au culte du Temple.
11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.	11 Et voyez encore: après que le grand prêtre a offert pour le péché, dans le lieu saint, le sang des victimes, leurs corps sont brûlés hors du campement.
12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.	12 De même Jésus a souffert hors des murs, quand il a voulu sanctifier le peuple par son sang.
13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.	13 Allons donc le rejoindre hors du campement et partageons son humiliation,
14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.	14 sachant que nous n’avons pas de cité définitive ici-bas, mais que nous attendons celle qui doit venir.
15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.	15 Offrons donc à Dieu en tout temps, par Jésus, un sacrifice de louange, celui qui consiste à proclamer son Nom.
16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.	16 Et n’oubliez pas non plus de partager et de faire du bien, car ce sont là des sacrifices qui plaisent à Dieu.
17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.	17 Obéissez à vos guides et acceptez-les. Pensez qu’ils se font du souci pour vos âmes, sachant qu’ils en rendront compte, et il vaut mieux pour vous qu’ils le fassent avec joie qu’en gémissant.
18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.	18 Priez pour nous; nous ne voulons pas autre chose que ce qui est bon et nous pensons que notre conscience est droite.
19 But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.	19 Je vous demande donc instamment de prier pour moi, pour que je vous sois rendu au plus tôt.
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,	20 Que le Dieu de paix vous bénisse, lui qui a ramené d’entre les morts Jésus, notre Seigneur, suprême berger des brebis pour avoir versé le sang de l’Alliance Éternelle.
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	21 Qu’il vous fasse acquérir toute perfection et vous fasse faire sa volonté, puisque c’est lui qui fait naître en nous tout ce qui lui est agréable, par Jésus Christ, à qui soit la gloire pour tous les siècles. Amen!
22 And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.	22 Je vous en prie, frères, prenez bien ces paroles d’encouragement; je n’y ajoute que quelques mots.
23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.	23 Sachez que notre frère Timothée a été remis en liberté et, s’il n’arrive pas trop tard, je pense vous visiter avec lui.
24 Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.	24 Saluez tous vos responsables et tous les saints, nos frères. Ceux d’Italie vous saluent.
25 Grace be with you all. Amen.	25 Que la grâce soit avec vous tous!
