1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,	1 Or mentre essi parlavano al popolo, sopraggiunsero i sacerdoti, il magistrato del tempio ed i Sadducei,
2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.	2 crucciati che istruissero il popolo ed annunziassero in Gesù la risurrezione da morte:
3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.	3 misero loro le mani addosso e li gettarono in prigione fino al giorno seguente, perchè era già sera.
4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.	4 Ma molti di quelli che avevano udito il discorso, credettero, e il numero dei fedeli crebbe fino a cinque mila.
5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,	5 Ed ecco, il giorno seguente, adunarsi in Gerusalemme i capi del popolo, gli anziani e gli scribi,
6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.	6 e Anna sommo sacerdote, e Caifa, Giovanni, Alessandro, e quanti erari della casta sacerdotale:
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?	7 e fattili comparire in mezzo a loro, li interrogarono: Con quale potere o in nome di chi avete fatto questo?
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,	8 Allora Pietro ripieno di Spirito Santo, rispose loro: Capi del popolo, ed anziani, ascoltate:
9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;	9 Giacché oggi siam interrogati sul benefìcio fatto ad un malato, affìn di sapere in qual modo questo sia guarito,
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.	10 sia noto a voi tutti, e a tutto il popolo d'Israele, come in nome del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo Nazareno che voi crocifìggeste e Dio risuscitò da morte, in virtù di questo nome costui è sano dinanzi a voi.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.	11 Questa è la pietra riprovata da voi, costruttori, la quale è divenuta la pietra angolare.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.	12 Nè c'è in altro salvezza. E non v'è altro nome sotto il cielo dato agli uomini in virtù del quale possiamo salvarci.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.	13 Ed essi, udendo la costanza di Pietro e di Giovanni, saputo che erano illetterati, si maravigliarono; e riconoscevano che erano stati con Gesù;
14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.	14 vedendo poi lì ritto quell'uomo che era stato guarito, non potevano dir nulla in contrario.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,	15 Ordinarono quindi ad essi di ritirarsi fuori dell'adunanza, e poi cominciarono a consultarsi tra loro:
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.	16 Che potremo fare a costoro? L'evidente prodigio fatto per opera loro è noto a tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, e non possiamo negarlo.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.	17 Ma affinchè non si divulghi maggiormente tra il popolo, proibiamo loro con minaccia di non parlare mai più in questo nome ad alcuno.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.	18 E, richiamatili, ingiunsero loro assolutamente di non parlare o insegnare nel nome di Gesù.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.	19 Ma Pietro e Giovanni risposero loro: Se sia giusto dinanzi a Dio l'ubbidire a voi piuttosto che a Dio, giudicatelo voi stessi,
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.	20 noi poi non possiamo non parlare di quello che abbiamo visto e udito.
21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.	21 Ma quelli dopo averli minacciati, li rimandarono, non trovando come castigarli, a cagion del popolo, tutti celebrando quel che era stato fatto,
22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.	22 perché l'uomo su cui era stato operato il prodigio della guarigione aveva più di quarantanni.
23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.	23 Rilasciati che furono, se ne andaron dai loro, e riferirono quanto avevari detto i capi dei sacerdoti e degli anziani.
24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:	24 E quelli, ciò udito, alzarono unanimi la voce a Dio, e dissero: Signore, tu che hai creato il cielo e la terra e il mare e tutto quanto è in essi,
25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?	25 tu che per mezzo dello Spirito Santo, e per bocca di David padre nostro e tuo servo hai detto: Perchè tumultuarono lo genti e i popoli han macchinati vani disegni?
26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.	26 Si fecero innanzi i re della terra e i principi si adunarono insieme contro il Signore e contro il suo Cristo.
27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,	27 Difatti in questa città, contro il tuo santo Figlio Gesù, da te unto, si son collegati Erode e Ponzio Pilato con i Gentili e col popolo d'Israele,
28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.	28 per far quello che la tua mano e la tua volontà preordinò che si facesse.
29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,	29 Ed ora, Signore, guarda le loro minacce, e concedi ai tuoi servi d'annunziare con tutta franchezza la tua parola,
30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.	30 stendendo la tua mano a risanare ed operare segni e miracoli per virtù del nome del tuo santo Figlio Gesù.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.	31 E appena ebbero pregato, tremò il luogo dove stavano adunati e furono tutti pieni di Spirito Santo, e presero ad annunziare coraggiosamente la parola di Dio.
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.	32 E la moltitudine dei credenti formava un solo cuore ed un'anima sola, nè c'era chi dicesse suo quello che possedeva, ma tutto era tra loro comune.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.	33 E gli Apostoli con grande efficacia rende van testimonianza della risurrezione di Gesù Cristo Signor nostro, e grazia grande era in tutti loro,
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,	34 e non c'era alcun bisognoso tra essi: perchè tutti quelli che possedevan terreni o case li vendevano e ne portavano il prezzo,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.	35 deponendolo ai piedi degli Apostoli, che si distribuiva a ciascuno, secondo il suo bisogno.
36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,	36 Così Giuseppe, dagli Apostoli soprannominato Barnaba che vuol dire figlio di consolazione, levita, oriundo di Cipro,
37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.	37 avendo un podere, lo vendette e portò il prezzo ai piedi degli Apostoli.
