1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.	1 Mas Jesús se fue al monte de los Olivos.
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.	2 Pero de madrugada se presentó otra vez en el Templo, y todo el pueblo acudía a él. Entonces se sentó y se puso a enseñarles.
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,	3 Los escribas y fariseos le llevan una mujer sorprendida en adulterio, la ponen en medio
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.	4 y le dicen: «Maestro, esta mujer ha sido sorprendida en flagrante adulterio.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?	5 Moisés nos mandó en la Ley apedrear a estas mujeres. ¿Tú qué dices?»
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.	6 Esto lo decían para tentarle, para tener de qué acuasarle. Pero Jesús, inclinándose, se puso a escribir con el dedo en la tierra.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.	7 Pero, como ellos insistían en preguntarle, se incorporó y les dijo: «Aquel de vosotros que esté sin pecado, que le arroje la primera piedra».
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.	8 E inclinándose de nuevo, escribía en la tierra.
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.	9 Ellos, al oír estas palabras, se iban retirando uno tras otro, comenzando por los más viejos; y se quedó solo Jesús con la mujer, que seguía en medio.
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?	10 Incorporándose Jesús le dijo: «Mujer, ¿dónde están? ¿Nadie te ha condenado?»
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.	11 Ella respondió: «Nadie, Señor». Jesús le dijo: «Tampoco yo te condeno. Vete, y en adelante no peques más».
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.	12 Jesús les habló otra vez diciendo: «Yo soy la luz del mundo; el que me siga no caminará en la oscuridad, sino que tendrá la luz de la vida».
13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.	13 Los fariseos le dijeron: «Tú das testimonio de ti mismo: tu testimonio no vale».
14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.	14 Jesús les respondió: «Aunque yo dé testimonio de mí mismo, mi testimonio vale, porque sé de dónde he venido y a dónde voy; pero vosotros no sabéis de dónde vengo ni a dónde voy.
15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.	15 Vosotros juzgáis según la carne; yo no juzgo a nadie;
16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.	16 y si juzgo, mi juicio es verdadero, porque no estoy yo solo, sino yo y el que me ha enviado.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.	17 Y en vuestra Ley está escrito que el testimonio de dos personas es válido.
18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.	18 Yo soy el que doy testimonio de mí mismo y también el que me ha enviado, el Padre, da testimonio de mí».
19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.	19 Entonces le decían: «¿Dónde está tu Padre?» Respondió Jesús: «No me conocéis ni a mí ni a mi Padre; si me conocierais a mí, conoceríais también a mi Padre».
20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.	20 Estas palabras las pronunció en el Tesoro, mientras enseñaba en el Templo. Y nadie le prendió, porque aún no había llegado su hora.
21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.	21 Jesús les dijo otra vez: «Yo me voy y vosotros me buscaréis, y moriréis en vuestro pecado. Adonde yo voy, vosotros no podéis ir».
22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.	22 Los judíos se decían: «¿Es que se va a suicidar, pues dice: “Adonde yo voy, vosotros no podéis ir?»
23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.	23 El les decía: «Vosotros sois de abajo, yo soy de arriba. Vosotros sois de este mundo, yo no soy de este mundo.
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.	24 Ya os he dicho que moriréis en vuestros pecados, porque si no creéis que Yo Soy, moriréis en vuestros pecados».
25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.	25 Entonces le decían: «¿Quién eres tú?» Jesús les respondió: «Desde el principio, lo que os estoy diciendo.
26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.	26 Mucho podría hablar de vosotros y juzgar pero el que me ha enviado es veraz, y lo que le he oído a él es lo que hablo al mundo».
27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.	27 No comprendieron que les hablaba del Padre.
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.	28 Les dijo, pues, Jesús: «Cuando hayáis levantado al Hijo del hombre, entonces sabréis que Yo Soy, y que no hago nada por mi propia cuenta; sino que, lo que el Padre me ha enseñado, eso es lo que hablo.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.	29 Y el que me ha enviado está conmigo: no me ha dejado solo, porque yo hago siempre lo que le agrada a él».
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.	30 Al hablar así, muchos creyeron en él.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;	31 Decía, pues, Jesús a los judíos que habían creído en él: «Si os mantenéis en mi Palabra, seréis verdaderamente mis discípulos,
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.	32 y conoceréis la verdad y la verdad os hará libres».
33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?	33 Ellos le respondieron: «Nosotros somos descendencia de Abraham y nunca hemos sido esclavos de nadie. ¿Cómo dices tú: Os haréis libres?»
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.	34 Jesús les respondió: «En verdad, en verdad os digo: todo el que comete pecado es un esclavo.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.	35 Y el esclavo no se queda en casa para siempre; mientras el hijo se queda para siempre.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.	36 Si, pues, el Hijo os da la libertad, seréis realmente libres.
37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.	37 Ya sé que sois descendencia de Abraham; pero tratáis de matarme, porque mi Palabra no prende en vosotros.
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.	38 Yo hablo lo que he visto donde mi Padre; y vosotros hacéis lo que habéis oído donde vuestro padre».
39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.	39 Ellos le respondieron: «Nuestro padre es Abraham». Jesús les dice: «Si sois hijos de Abraham, haced las obras de Abraham.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.	40 Pero tratáis de matarme, a mí que os he dicho la verdad que oí de Dios. Eso no lo hizo Abraham.
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.	41 Vosotros hacéis las obras de vuestro padre». Ellos le dijeron: «Nosotros no hemos nacido de la prostitución; no tenemos más padre que a Dios».
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.	42 Jesús les respondió: «Si Dios fuera vuestro Padre, me amaríais a mí, porque yo he salido y vengo de Dios; no he venido por mi cuenta, sino que él me ha enviado.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.	43 ¿Por qué no reconocéis mi lenguaje? Porque no podéis escuchar mi Palabra.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.	44 Vosotros sois de vuestro padre el diablo y queréis cumplir los deseos de vuestro padre. Este era homicida desde el principio, y no se mantuvo en la verdad, porque no hay verdad en él; cuando dice la mentira, dice lo que le sale de dentro, porque es mentiroso y padre de la mentira.
45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.	45 Pero a mí, como os digo la verdad, no me creéis.
46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?	46 ¿Quién de vosotros puede probar que soy pecador? Si digo la verdad, ¿por qué no me creéis?
47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.	47 El que es de Dios, escucha las palabras de Dios; vosotros no las escucháis, porque no sois de Dios».
48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?	48 Los judíos le respondieron: «¿No decimos, con razón, que eres samaritano y que tienes un demonio?»
49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.	49 Respondió Jesús: «Yo no tengo un demonio; sino que honro a mi Padre, y vosotros me deshonráis a mí.
50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.	50 Pero yo no busco mi gloria; ya hay quien la busca y juzga.
51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.	51 En verdad, en verdad os digo: si alguno guarda mi Palabra, no verá la muerte jamás».
52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.	52 Le dijeron los judíos: «Ahora estamos seguros de que tienes un demonio. Abraham murió, y también los profetas; y tú dices: “Si alguno guarda mi Palabra, no probará la muerte jamás.”
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?	53 ¿Eres tú acaso más grande que nuestro padre Abraham, que murió? También los profetas murieron. ¿Por quién te tienes a ti mismo?»
54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:	54 Jesús respondió: «Si yo me glorificara a mí mismo, mi gloria no valdría nada; es mi Padre quien me glorifica, de quien vosotros decís: “El es nuestro Dios”,
55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.	55 y sin embargo no le conocéis, yo sí que le conozco, y si dijera que no le conozco, sería un mentiroso como vosotros. Pero yo le conozco, y guardo su Palabra.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.	56 Vuestro padre Abraham se regocijó pensando en ver mi Día; lo vio y se alegró».
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?	57 Entonces los judíos le dijeron: «¿Aún no tienes cincuenta años y has visto a Abraham?»
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily,verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.	58 Jesús les respondió: «En verdad, en verdad os digo: antes de que Abraham existiera, Yo Soy».
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.	59 Entonces tomaron piedras para tirárselas; pero Jesús se ocultó y salió del Templo.
