Deuteronomy 26

1 And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein;	1 Cuando entres en la tierra que el Señor, tu Dios, te da en herencia, cuando tomes posesión de ella y te establezcas allí,
2 That thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land that the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt put it in a basket, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name there.	2 recogerás las primicias de todos los frutos que extraigas de la tierra que te da el Señor, tu Dios, las pondrás en una canasta, y las llevarás al lugar elegido por el Señor, tu Dios, para constituirlo morada de su Nombre.
3 And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto the LORD thy God, that I am come unto the country which the LORD sware unto our fathers for to give us.	3 Entonces te presentarás al sacerdote que esté en funciones en aquellos días, y le dirás: «Yo declaro hoy ante el Señor, tu Dios, que he llegado a la tierra que él nos dio, porque así lo había jurado a nuestros padres».
4 And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand, and set it down before the altar of the LORD thy God.	4 El sacerdote tomará la canasta que tú le entregues, la depositará ante el altar,
5 And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous:	5 y tú pronunciarás estas palabras en presencia del Señor, tu Dios. «Mi padre era un arameo errante que bajó a Egipto y se refugió allí con unos pocos hombres, pero luego se convirtió en una nación grande, fuerte y numerosa.
6 And the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage:	6 Los egipcios nos maltrataron, nos oprimieron y nos impusieron una dura servidumbre.
7 And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labour, and our oppression:	7 Entonces pedimos auxilio al Señor, el Dios de nuestros padres, y él escuchó nuestra voz. El vio nuestra miseria. nuestro cansancio y nuestra opresión.
8 And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders:	8 y nos hizo salir de Egipto con el poder de su mano y la fuerza de su brazo, en medio de un gran terror, de signos y prodigios.
9 And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.	9 El nos trajo a este lugar y nos dio esta tierra que mana leche y miel.
10 And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which thou, O LORD, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the LORD thy God, and worship before the LORD thy God:	10 Por eso ofrezco ahora las primicias de los frutos del suelo que tú, Señor, me diste». Tú depositarás las primicias ante el Señor, tu Dios, y te postrarás ante el Señor, tu Dios, y te postrarás delante de él.
11 And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.	11 Luego te regocijarás por todos los bienes que él te concede, a ti y a tu casa, y también se alegrarán el levita y el extranjero que viven contigo.
12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;	12 El tercer año, el año del diezmo, cuando tomes la décima parte de tus cosechas y se la des al levita, al extranjero, al huérfano y a la viuda, a fin de que ellos puedan comer en tus ciudades hasta saciarse.
13 Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them:	13 dirás en presencia del Señor, tu Dios: «Yo saqué de mi casa lo que debía ser consagrado, y se lo di al levita, al extranjero, al huérfano y a la viuda, conforme al mandamiento que tú me diste, sin quebrantar ni olvidar ninguno de tus preceptos.
14 I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away ought thereof for any unclean use, nor given ought thereof for the dead: but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.	14 No comí nada de eso estando de duelo, no consumí nada en estado de impureza, ni lo ofrecí como alimento a un muerto. Obedecí la voz del Señor, mi Dios, y obre en todo según lo que tú me ordenaste.
15 Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.	15 Inclínate desde tu santa morada, desde lo alto del cielo, y bendice a tu pueblo Israel y a la tierra que nos diste –esa tierra que mana leche y miel– como lo habías jurado a nuestros padres».
16 This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.	16 Hoy el Señor, tu Dios, te ordena practicar estos preceptos y estas leyes. Obsérvalas y practícalas y estas leyes. Obsérvalas y practícalas con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma.
17 Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice:	17 Hoy tú le has hecho declarar al Señor que él será tu Dios, y que tú, por tu parte, seguirás sus caminos, observarás sus preceptos, sus mandamientos y sus leyes, y escucharás su voz.
18 And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;	18 Y el Señor hoy te ha hecho declarar que tú serás el pueblo de su propiedad exclusiva, como él te lo ha prometido, y que tú observarás todos sus mandamientos;
19 And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.	19 que te hará superior –en estima, en renombre y en gloria– a todas las naciones que hizo; y que serás un pueblo consagrado al Señor, como él te lo ha prometido.
