1 And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein;	1 Quand tu seras entré dans le pays que Yahvé ton Dieu te donne en héritage, quand il sera à toi et que tu l’habiteras,
2 That thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land that the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt put it in a basket, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name there.	2 tu prendras les premiers de tous les fruits du sol que tu auras récoltés dans ce pays que Yahvé ton Dieu te donne. Tu les mettras dans un panier et tu iras au lieu que Yahvé ton Dieu aura choisi pour y faire habiter son Nom.
3 And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto the LORD thy God, that I am come unto the country which the LORD sware unto our fathers for to give us.	3 Tu te présenteras au prêtre qui sera en fonction ce jour-là et tu lui diras: “Je le reconnais aujourd’hui devant Yahvé mon Dieu: oui, je suis entré au pays que Yahvé avait juré à nos pères de nous donner.”
4 And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand, and set it down before the altar of the LORD thy God.	4 Alors le prêtre prendra le panier de ta main et il le déposera devant l’autel de Yahvé ton Dieu.
5 And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous:	5 Puis tu prendras la parole et tu diras devant Yahvé ton Dieu: “Mon père était un Araméen nomade. Quand il est descendu en Égypte, il avait peu de monde avec lui, mais ils sont devenus là-bas une nation grande, puissante et nombreuse.
6 And the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage:	6 Alors les Égyptiens nous ont maltraités, ils nous ont accablés, ils nous ont imposé un dur travail.
7 And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labour, and our oppression:	7 “C’est pourquoi nous avons crié vers Yahvé, le Dieu de nos pères, et Yahvé a entendu notre voix. Il a vu notre souffrance, notre peine, notre écrasement.
8 And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders:	8 Yahvé nous a fait sortir d’Égypte par sa main redoutable, en frappant de grands coups, en inspirant la terreur par des signes et des prodiges.
9 And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.	9 Il nous a conduits en ce lieu et nous a donné ce pays, une terre où ruissellent le lait et le miel.
10 And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which thou, O LORD, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the LORD thy God, and worship before the LORD thy God:	10 Aussi maintenant je viens apporter les premiers fruits du sol que tu m’as donné, ô Yahvé!” Alors tu déposeras ces fruits devant Yahvé ton Dieu et tu te prosterneras devant lui.
11 And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.	11 Puis tu feras la fête, toi et ta famille, avec toutes les bonnes choses que Yahvé ton Dieu t’a données. Le Lévite et l’étranger qui sont au milieu de toi seront de la fête avec toi.
12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;	12 La troisième année, qui est l’année de la dîme, tu prélèveras la dîme sur toutes tes récoltes et tu la donneras au Lévite, à l’étranger, à l’orphelin et à la veuve. Ils en mangeront dans tes villes tant qu’ils auront faim. Lorsque tu auras terminé,
13 Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them:	13 tu diras en présence de Yahvé ton Dieu: “J’ai enlevé de ma maison toute la part consacrée et je l’ai donnée au Lévite, à l’étranger, à l’orphelin et à la veuve selon le commandement que tu m’avais donné. Vois que je n’ai désobéi à aucun de tes ordres, je ne les ai pas oubliés.
14 I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away ought thereof for any unclean use, nor given ought thereof for the dead: but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.	14 De ce qui restait, je n’ai rien mangé durant les jours de deuil, rien n’est devenu impur; je n’en ai pas donné à un mort, mais j’ai écouté la voix de Yahvé mon Dieu et, en tout, j’ai agi comme il me l’a commandé.
15 Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.	15 De ta Demeure de sainteté, du haut du ciel, regarde et bénis ton peuple Israël, ainsi que la terre que tu nous a donnée comme tu l’as juré à nos pères, ce pays où ruissellent le lait et le miel.”
16 This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.	16 Et tu sauras que ce même jour ton Dieu te commande de mettre en pratique ses lois et ses ordonnances. Tu les observeras et tu les mettras en pratique de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme.
17 Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice:	17 Tu viens de dire à Yahvé qu’il sera ton Dieu, que tu marcheras dans ses voies, que tu observeras ses préceptes, ses commandements et ses ordonnances et que tu écouteras sa voix.
18 And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;	18 Yahvé à son tour te fait dire aujourd’hui que tu seras son peuple choisi, comme il te l’a promis, que tu observeras tous ses commandements.
19 And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.	19 Et lui te donnera gloire, renommée et puissance; il te mettra au-dessus de toutes les nations qu’il a faites et tu seras pour Yahvé ton Dieu un peuple saint, comme il te l’a dit.”
