Deuteronomy 24

1 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.	1 Se um homem, tomando uma mulher, se casar com ela, e não a achar agradável diante dos seus olhos por qualquer coisa inconveniente, escreverá um libelo de repúdio lho dará na mão, e a despedirá da sua casa.
2 And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.	2 Se ela, depois de ter saído, tomar outro marido,
3 And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;	3 e este também a aborrecer, e, dando-Ihe libelo de repúdio, a despedir de sua casa, ou se ele veio a morrer,
4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.	4 não poderá o primeiro marido tomá-la a tomar por mulher, dado que ela está contaminada, porque isso é abominável dante do Senhor; não faças pecar a terra cuja posse te der o Senhor teu Deus.
5 When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.	5 Quando um homem tiver tomado uma mulher há pouco tempo, não irá à guerra, nem se lhe imporá cargo algum público, mas estará livremente em sua casa, a fim de passar alegre um ano com sua mulher.
6 No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge: for he taketh a man's life to pledge.	6 Não receberás por penhor a mó inferior e a superior, porque te deu por penhor a própria vida.
7 If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.	7 Se se encontrar um homem que raptou um seu irmão, dos filhos de Israel, e que o tenha feito seu escravo ou vendido, será morto, e tu tirarás (assim) o mal do meio de ti.
8 Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.	8 Evita diligentemente contrair a praga da lepra, fazendo tudo o que te ensinarem os sacerdotes da linhagem de Levi, conforme o que lhes prescrevi; cumpre tudo à risca.
9 Remember what the LORD thy God did unto Miriam by the way, after that ye were come forth out of Egypt.	9 Lembrai-Vos do que o Senhor vosso Deus fez a Maria no caminho, quando saístes do Egipto.
10 When thou dost lend thy brother any thing, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge.	10 Quando requereres de teu próximo alguma coisa que ele deve, não entrarás em sua casa para tomar (algum) penhor,
11 Thou shalt stand abroad, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring out the pledge abroad unto thee.	11 mas estarás fora, e ele te trará o que tiver.
12 And if the man be poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:	12 Se ele é pobre, o penhor não pernoitará em tua casa,
13 In any case thou shalt deliver him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.	13 mas tornarás a dar-lho antes de se pôr o sol a fim de que ele, dormindo na sua roupa, te abençoe: isso será para ti uma justiça diante do Senhor teu Deus.
14 Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:	14 Não negarás a paga do indigente e do pobre quer ele seja teu irmão, quer um estrangeiro, que mora contigo na terra, e está dentro das tuas portas,
15 At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.	15 mas pagar-Ihe-ás no mesmo dia o preço do seu trabalho antes do sol-posto, porque é pobre, e com isso sustenta a sua vida. De contrário ele clamaria contra ti ao Senhor, e pesaria sobre ti um pecado,
16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.	16 Não se farão morrer os pais pelos filhos, nem os filhos pelos pais, mas cada um morrerá pelo seu pecado.
17 Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's raiment to pledge:	17 Não perverterás a justiça (na causa) do estrangeiro e do órfão, nem tirarás por penhor o vestido da viúva.
18 But thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.	18 Lembra-te que foste escravo no Egipto e que o Senhor teu Deus te tirou de lá. Por isso te mando que faças isto.
19 When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.	19 Quando segares a messe no teu campo, e deixares por esquecimento alguma gavela, não voltarás para a Ievar, mas deixá-las-ás tomar ao estrangeiro, ao órfão e à viúva, a fim de que o Senhor teu Deus te abençoe em todas as obras das tuas mãos.
20 When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.	20 Se tiveres colhido o fruto das oliveiras, não voltarás a colher algum resto que tenha ficado nas árvores, mas deixá-lo-ás ao estrangeiro, ao órfão e à viúva
21 When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.	21 Se tiveres vindimado a tua vinha, não irás colher os cachos que ficaram; serão para o estrangeiro, paia o órfão e para a viúva.
22 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.	22 Lembra-te que foste também escravo no Egipto; por isso te mando que façais assim.
