1 Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.	1 Ecoutez cette parole, cette plainte que Je prononce sur vous: La maison d'Israël est tombée, et elle ne pourra plus se rétablir.
2 The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.	2 La vierge d'Israël a été renversée sur son territoire, il n'y a personne qui la relève.
3 For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.	3 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: La ville, dont mille hommes sortaient, n'en conservera que cent; et celle dont sortaient cent hommes, n'en conservera que dix, dans la maison d'Israël.
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:	4 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur à la maison d'Israël: Cherchez-Moi, et vous vivrez.
5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.	5 Mais ne cherchez pas Béthel, n'entrez pas dans Galgala, et ne passez point à Bersabée, car Galgala sera emmenée captive, et Béthel deviendra inutile.
6 Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.	6 Cherchez le Seigneur et vous vivrez, de peur qu'il ne brûle comme un feu la maison de Joseph et qu'Il ne la dévore, et que personne ne puisse éteindre Béthel.
7 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,	7 C'est vous qui changez en absinthe le jugement, et qui abandonnez la justice sur la terre.
8 Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:	8 Cherchez Celui qui a créé l'Arcture et Orion, qui transforme les ténèbres en aurore et qui change la nuit en jour, qui appelle les eaux de la mer et les répand sur la face de la terre: Son nom est le Seigneur.
9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.	9 Il renverse les forts en souriant, et Il apporte la ruine sur les puissants.
10 They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.	10 Ils ont haï celui qui les reprenait à la porte, et ils ont eu en abomination celui qui tenait un langage parfait.
11 Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.	11 Aussi, parce que vous avez pillé le pauvre et que vous lui avez enlevé ce qu'il avait de plus précieux, vous bàtirez des maisons en pierres de taille, et vous ne les habiterez pas; vous planterez d'excellentes vignes, et vous ne boirez pas leur vin.
12 For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.	12 Car Je connais vos crimes nombreux et vos graves péchés; vous êtes les ennemis du juste, vous recevez des dons, et vous opprimez les pauvres à la porte.
13 Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.	13 C'est pourquoi le sage se tait en ce temps-ci, car c'est un temps mauvais.
14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.	14 Cherchez le bien, et non pas le mal, afin que vous viviez; et le Seigneur, le Dieu des armées, sera avec vous, comme vous le dites.
15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.	15 Haïssez le mal et aimez le bien, et faites régner la justice à vos portes; peut-être le Seigneur, le Dieu des armées, aura-t-Il pitié des restes de Joseph.
16 Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.	16 C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur, le Dieu des armées, le dominateur: Sur toutes les places il y aura des lamentations, et dans tous les faubourgs on dira: Malheur, malheur! Ils appelleront le laboureur au deuil, et aux lamentations ceux qui savent faire les plaintes funèbres.
17 And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.	17 Dans toutes les vignes il y aura des lamentations, parce que Je passerai au milieu de toi, dit le Seigneur.
18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.	18 Malheur à ceux qui désirent le jour du Seigneur! De quoi vous servira-t-il? Ce jour du Seigneur sera ténèbres, et non lumière.
19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.	19 Comme si un homme fuyait de devant un lion et rencontrait un ours, puis qu'étant entré dans la maison, et appuyant sa main sur la muraille, il était mordu par un serpent.
20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?	20 Est-ce que le jour du Seigneur ne sera pas ténèbres et non lumière? obscurité et non clarté?
21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.	21 Je hais et Je rejette vos fêtes; Je ne puis sentir l'odeur de vos assemblées.
22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.	22 Si vous M'offrez des holocaustes et vos présents, Je ne les recevrai pas; et Je ne regarderai pas vos grasses victimes offertes en voeu.
23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.	23 Eloigne de Moi le bruit de tes cantiques; Je n'écouterai pas les airs de ta lyre.
24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.	24 Le jugement se manifestera comme l'eau, et la justice comme un torrent impétueux.
25 Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?	25 Est-ce que vous m'avez offert des victimes et des sacrifices dans le désert pendant quarante ans, maison d'Israël?
26 But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.	26 Vous avez porté le tabernacle de votre Moloch, et l'image de vos idoles, l'étoile de votre dieu, que vous vous étiez faits.
27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.	27 Je vous ferai déporter au delà de Damas, dit le Seigneur, dont le nom est Dieu des armées.
	28 Ses flèches sont acérées, et tous ses arcs bandés. Les sabots de ses chevaux sont comme des cailloux, et les roues de ses chars ont la rapidité de la tempête.
	29 Son rugissement est comme celui d'un lion, il rugira comme des lionceaux; il frémira et saisira sa proie, et il l'emportera, et personne ne viendra la lui enlever.
	30 En ce jour, un bruit semblable à celui de la mer retentira sur lui; nous regarderons sur la terre, et il n'y aura que les ténèbres de la tribulation, et la lumière disparaîtra dans cette profonde obscurité.
