1 In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;	1 Nell'anno, in cui Tharthan mandato da Sargon re degli Assiri, giunse ad Azoto, e la combattè, e la prese,
2 At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.	2 In quel tempo stesso il Signore parlò ad Isaia figliuolo di Amos, dicendo: Va, e spogliati del tuo sacco, e cavati le scarpe da' piedi; ed ei fece così, andando ignudo, e scalzo.
3 And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;	3 E disse il Signore: Come il mio servo Isaia é andato ignudo, e scalzo in segno, e predizione di tre anni contro l'Egitto, e contro l'Etiopia,
4 So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.	4 Così il re degli Assiri condurrà via la turba de' prigionieri, e di esuli dall'Egitto, e dall'Etiopia, giovani, e vecchj, ignuda, e scalza, scoperte le parti oscene a scorno dell'Egitto.
5 And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.	5 E saranno sbigottiti, e si vergogneranno di aver posta la loro speranza nell'Etiopia, e la loro gloria nell'Egitto.
6 And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?	6 Egli abitanti di quell'isola diranno in quel giorno: Ecco adunque que', che eran nostra speranza, a' quali ricorremmo per aiuto, affinchè ci liberassero dal re degli Assiri: e come potremo scamparne noi?
