Isaiah 10

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;	1 Malheur à ceux qui décrètent des décrets d'iniquité, qui écrivent des rescrits d'oppression
2 To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!	2 pour priver les faibles de justice et frustrer de leur droit les humbles de mon peuple, pour faire desveuves leur butin et dépouiller les orphelins.
3 And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?	3 Que ferez-vous au jour du châtiment, quand le malheur viendra de loin? Vers qui fuirez-vous pourdemander secours et où laisserez-vous vos richesses,
4 Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.	4 pour ne pas ramper parmi les prisonniers, tomber parmi les tués? Avec tout cela sa colère ne s'est pasdétournée, sa main reste levée.
5 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.	5 Malheur à Assur, férule de ma colère; c'est un bâton dans leurs mains que ma fureur.
6 I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.	6 Contre une nation impie je l'envoyais, contre le peuple objet de mon emportement je le mandais, pourse livrer au pillage et rafler le butin, pour les piétiner comme la boue des rues.
7 Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.	7 Mais lui ne jugeait pas ainsi, et son coeur n'avait pas cette pensée, car il rêvait d'exterminer, d'extirperdes nations sans nombre.
8 For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings?	8 Car il disait: "N'est-ce pas que tous mes chefs sont des rois?
9 Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?	9 N'est-ce pas que Kalno vaut bien Karkémish, que Hamat vaut bien Arpad, et Samarie Damas?
10 As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;	10 Comme ma main a atteint les royaumes des faux dieux, où il y a plus d'idoles qu'à Jérusalem et àSamarie,
11 Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?	11 comme j'ai agi envers Samarie et ses faux dieux, ne puis-je pas agir aussi envers Jérusalem et sesstatues?"
12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.	12 Mais lorsque le Seigneur achèvera toute son oeuvre sur la montagne de Sion et à Jérusalem, ilchâtiera le fruit du coeur orgueilleux du roi d'Assur et la morgue de ses regards arrogants.
13 For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:	13 Car il a dit: "C'est par ma main puissante que j'ai fait cela, par ma sagesse, car j'ai agi avecintelligence. Je supprimais les frontières des peuples; j'ai saccagé leurs trésors; comme un puissant je soumettaisles habitants.
14 And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.	14 Ma main a cueilli, comme au nid, les richesses des peuples, et comme on ramasse des oeufsabandonnés, j'ai ramassé toute la terre; pas un n'a battu des ailes, ni ouvert le bec pour pépier."
15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.	15 Fanfaronne-t-elle, la hache, contre celui qui la brandit? Se glorifie-t-elle, la scie, aux dépens de celuiqui la manie? Comme si le bâton faisait mouvoir ceux qui le lèvent, comme si le gourdin levait ce qui n'est pasde bois!
16 Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.	16 C'est pourquoi le Seigneur Yahvé Sabaot enverra contre ses hommes gras la maigreur, et sous sagloire un brasier s'embrasera, comme s'embrase le feu.
17 And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;	17 La lumière d'Israël deviendra un feu et son Saint une flamme, elle brûlera et consumera ses épines etses ronces en un jour.
18 And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth.	18 La luxuriance de sa forêt et de son verger, il l'anéantira corps et âme, et ce sera comme un maladequi s'éteint.
19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.	19 Le reste des arbres de sa forêt sera un petit nombre, un enfant l'écrirait.
20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.	20 Ce jour-là, le reste d'Israël et les survivants de la maison de Jacob cesseront de s'appuyer sur qui lesfrappe; ils s'appuieront en vérité sur Yahvé, le Saint d'Israël.
21 The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.	21 Un reste reviendra, le reste de Jacob, vers le Dieu fort.
22 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.	22 Mais ton peuple serait-il comme le sable de la mer, ô Israël, ce n'est qu'un reste qui en reviendra:destruction décidée, débordement de justice!
23 For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.	23 Car c'est une destruction bien décidée que le Seigneur Yahvé Sabaot exécute au milieu de tout lepays.
24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.	24 C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé Sabaot: O mon peuple qui habites en Sion, n'aie paspeur d'Assur! Il te frappe du bâton, il lève le gourdin contre toi (sur le chemin d'Egypte);
25 For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.	25 mais encore quelques instants et la fureur prendra fin, et ma colère causera leur perte.
26 And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.	26 Yahvé Sabaot va brandir contre lui un fouet, comme il frappa Madiân au Rocher d'Oreb; il vabrandir son bâton contre la mer, comme il l'a levé sur le chemin d'Egypte.
27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.	27 Ce jour-là, son fardeau glissera de ton épaule et son joug de ta nuque, et le joug sera détruit.
28 He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:	28 Il est arrivé sur Ayyat, il a passé à Migrôn, à Mikmas il a laissé ses bagages.
29 They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.	29 Ils ont passé par le défilé, Géba est pour nous une étape, Rama a frémi, Gibéa de Saül a fui.
30 Lift up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth.	30 Fais retentir ta voix, Bat-Gallim, sois attentive, Laïsha! Réponds-lui, Anatot!
31 Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.	31 Madména s'est enfuie; les habitants de Gébîm se sont mis à l'abri.
32 As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.	32 Aujourd'hui même, à Nob, lors d'une halte, il agitera la main vers la montagne de la fille de Sion, lacolline de Jérusalem.
33 Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled.	33 Voici que le Seigneur Yahvé Sabaot émonde la frondaison avec violence, les plus hautes cimes sontcoupées, les plus fières sont abaissées.
34 And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.	34 Ils seront coupés par le fer, les halliers de la forêt et sous les coups d'un Puissant, le Liban tombera.
