Psalms 81

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.	1 Du maître de chant. Sur la... de Gat. D'Asaph.
2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.	2 Criez de joie pour Dieu notre force, acclamez le Dieu de Jacob.
3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.	3 Ouvrez le concert, frappez le tambourin, la douce harpe ainsi que la lyre;
4 For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.	4 sonnez du cor au mois nouveau, à la pleine lune, au jour de notre fête.
5 This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.	5 Car Israël a une loi, un jugement du Dieu de Jacob,
6 I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.	6 un témoignage qu'il mit en Joseph quand il sortit contre la terre d'Egypte. Un langage inconnu sefait entendre:
7 Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.	7 "Du fardeau j'ai déchargé son épaule, ses mains ont lâché le couffin;
8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;	8 dans la détresse tu as crié, je t'ai sauvé. Je te répondis caché dans l'orage, je t'éprouvai aux eaux deMeriba.
9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.	9 Ecoute, mon peuple, je t'adjure, ô Israël, si tu pouvais m'écouter!
10 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.	10 Qu'il n'y ait point chez toi un dieu d'emprunt, n'adore pas un dieu étranger;
11 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.	11 c'est moi, Yahvé, ton Dieu, qui t'ai fait monter de la terre d'Egypte, ouvre large ta bouche, et jel'emplirai.
12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.	12 Mon peuple n'a pas écouté ma voix, Israël ne s'est pas rendu à moi;
13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!	13 je les laissai à leur coeur endurci, ils marchaient ne suivant que leur conseil.
14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.	14 Ah! si mon peuple m'écoutait, si dans mes voies marchait Israël,
15 The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.	15 en un instant j'abattrais ses adversaires et contre ses oppresseurs tournerais ma main.
16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.	16 Les ennemis de Yahvé l'aduleraient, et leur temps serait à jamais révolu.
	17 Je l'aurais nourri de la fleur du froment, je t'aurais rassasié avec le miel du rocher."
