2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.	2 als er mit den Syrern von Mesopotamien und mit den Syrern von Zoba Krieg führte und Joab zurückkehrte und die Edomiter im Salztal schlug, zwölftausend Mann. (2.Sam 8,3-14; 1.Chr 18,3-13).
3 Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.	3 Gott, du hast uns verworfen, uns zersprengt,du hast (uns) gezürnt: stelle uns wieder her!
4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.	4 Du hast das Land (oder: die Erde) erschüttert, hast es zerrissen:o heile seine Risse, denn es wankt!
5 That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.	5 Dein Volk hast du Hartes erleben lassen,hast Taumelwein uns zu trinken gegeben;
6 God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.	6 doch deinen Getreuen hast eine Flagge (oder: ein Panier) du wehen lassen,damit sie sich flüchten konnten vor dem Bogen (des Feindes). SELA.
7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;	7 Daß deine Geliebten (oder: Freunde) gerettet werden,hilf uns mit deiner Rechten, erhöre uns!
8 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.	8 Gott hat in (oder: bei) seiner Heiligkeit gesprochen (= verheißen): »(Als Sieger) will ich frohlocken, will Sichem verteilenund das Tal von Sukkoth (als Beutestück) vermessen.
9 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?	9 Mein ist Gilead, mein auch Manasse,und Ephraim ist meines Hauptes Schutzwehr,Juda mein Herrscherstab.
10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?	10 Moab (dagegen) ist mein Waschbecken,auf Edom werfe ich meinen Schuh;jauchze mir zu, Philisterland!«
11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.	11 Wer führt mich hin zur festen Stadt,wer geleitet mich bis Edom?
12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.	12 Hast nicht du uns, o Gott, verworfenund ziehst nicht aus, o Gott, mit unsern Heeren?
	13 O schaff uns Hilfe gegen den Feind!denn nichtig ist Menschenhilfe.
	14 Mit Gott werden wir Taten vollführen,und er wird unsre Bedränger zertreten.
