1 How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?	1 Au maître de chant. Psaume de David.
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?	2 Veux-tu donc, Seigneur, m’oublier jusqu’à la fin? Voudras-tu toujours me cacher ton visage?
3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;	3 Devrai-je sans cesse garder en moi ma souffrance et dans mon cœur le chagrin tout au long du jour? Mon ennemi sera-t-il toujours le plus fort?
4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.	4 Regarde et réponds-moi, Seigneur mon Dieu. Que mes yeux voient ta lumière, ou je m’endors avec les morts.
5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.	5 Alors mon ennemi pourra dire: “Je l’ai eu”, et mes adversaires s’amuseront de ma chute.
6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.	6 Mais moi, je m’en remets à ta grâce, donne à mon cœur la joie d’être sauvé. Alors mon chant dira: “Le Seigneur m’a fait du bien.”
