1 Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.	1 Josafat adormeceu com seus pais, e foi sepultado com eles na cidade de David. Seu filho Jorão reinou em seu lugar.
2 And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.	2 (Jorão) teve por irmãos os filhos de Josafat: Azarias, Jaiel, Zacarias, Azarias, Miguel e Safatias. Todos estes eram filhos de Josafat, rei da Judá.
3 And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn.	3 Seu pai deu-lhes muitos dons em prata, ouro e em pensões, e cidades muito fortes em Judá mas entregou o reino a Jorão, por ser o primogênito.
4 Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.	4 Jorão tomou posse do reino de seu pai. Depois que se viu bem seguro, mandou matar à espada todos os seus irmãos e alguns dos grandes de Israel.
5 Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.	5 Jorão tinha trinta e dois anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou oito anos em Jerusalém.
6 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD.	6 Andou nos caminhos dos reis de Israel, como tinha feito a casa de Acab, porque sua mulher era filha de Acab. Fez o mal na presença do Senhor.
7 Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.	7 O Senhor, porém, não quis perder a casa de Davide, em atenção ao pacto que tinha feito com ele, porque tinha prometido que lhe daria uma lâmpada a ele e a seus filhos para sempre.
8 In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king.	8 Naquele tempo Edom revoltou-se para não estar mais sujeito a Judá, e constituiu para si um rei.
9 Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots.	9 Jorão, tendo ido (àquela província) com os seus generais e com toda a cavalaria que tinha consigo, levantou-se de noite e desbaratou Edom e todos os comandantes da sua cavalaria, que o tinham cercado.
10 So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers.	10 Todavia Edom manteve-se rebelde até ao dia de hoje, para não estar debaixo do poder de Judá. No mesmo tempo revoltou-se também Lobna, para não estar debaixo da sua obediência, (isto aconteceu) porque ele tinha abandonado o Senhor Deus de seus pais.
11 Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.	11 Além disto erigiu lugares altos nas cidades de Judá; induziu os habitantes de Jerusalém a idolatrarem, Judá a prevaricar.
12 And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,	12 Então foi-lhe levada uma carta do profeta Elias, em que estava escrito: Eis o que diz o Senhor Deus de Davide, teu pai: Porque não andaste pelos caminhos de teu pai Josafat, nem pelos caminhos de Asa, rei de Judá,
13 But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, which were better than thyself:	13 mas seguiste o caminho dos reis de Israel; porque fizeste cair na idolatria Judá e os habitantes de Jerusalém, imitando a idolatria da casa de Acab; porque, além disso mataste teus irmãos, da casa de teu pai, melhores do que tu,
14 Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods:	14 sabe que também o Senhor te ferirá com um grande flagelo a ti, ao teu povo, aos teus filhos, às tuas mulheres e a tudo o que te pertence.
15 And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.	15 Tu serás ferido no teu ventre com uma doença maligníssima, até que te saiam pouco a pouco as entranhas, durante longos dias.
16 Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:	16 O Senhor suscitou, pois, contra Jorão o espírito dos Filisteus e dos Árabes, que confinam com os Etíopes,
17 And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.	17 os quais entraram na terra de Judá, assolaram-na, saquearam tudo o que encontraram no palácio do rei, e, além disso (levaram) os seus filhos e mulheres, de sorte que não lhe ficou filho algum, senão Joacaz, que era o mais novo de todos.
18 And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.	18 Por sobre tudo isto, o Senhor feriu-o com uma doença incurável nas entranhas.
19 And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.	19 Sucedendo-se os dias uns aos outros, completou-se o período de dois anos; ele, consumido lentamente com a podridão, lan­çando fora até as suas entranhas, morreu em meio do mais acerbo sofrimento. O povo não lhe fez as exéquias queimando-lhe perfumes, segundo o costume, como tinha feito a seus antecessores.
20 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.	20 Jorão tinha trinta e dois anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou oito anos em Jerusalém. Não andou com retidão. Sepultaram-no na cidade de Davide, mas não no sepulcro dos reis.
