1 And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:	1 Davide dirigiu ao Senhor as palavras deste cântico, no dia em que o Senhor o livrou da mão de todos os seus inimigos, e da mão de Saul.
2 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;	2 Disse: O Senhor é o meu rochedo, a minha fortaleza, o meu Salvador.
3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.	3 Deus é a minha defesa, nele esperarei. É o meu escudo e o sustentáculo da minha salvação. Ele me exalta e é o meu refúgio. Ó meu Salvador, tu me livraste da iniquidade.
4 I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.	4 Eu invoquei o Senhor digno de louvor, e fui salvo dos meus inimigos.
5 When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;	5 Já me cercaram as ondas da morte, as torrentes de Belial me atemorizavam.
6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;	6 Já as cordas do inferno me cingiam, os laços da morte me apanhavam descuidado.
7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.	7 Na minha tribulação invocava o Senhor, e clamava ao meu Deus. Ele, do seu templo ouviu a minha voz, o meu clamor chegou aos seus ouvidos.
8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.	8 A terra comoveu-se e estremeceu, os fundamentos dos montes foram agitados e abalados, porque (o Senhor) se irou contra eles.
9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.	9 O fumo (da ira) dos seus narizes elevou-se ao alto, um fogo devorador saía da sua boca, carvões ardentes acesos por ele.
10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.	10 Baixou (ou fez inclinar) os céus e desceu, e (tinha) uma escuridão debaixo de seus pés.
11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.	11 E subiu sobre os querubins, e voou; voou sobre as asas dos ventos.
12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.	12 Cercou-se de trevas como duma tenda, de águas escuras, nuvens espessas.
13 Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.	13 Pelo esplendor da sua presença acenderam-se carvões de fogo.
14 The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.	14 O Senhor trovejou do céu, e o Altíssimo fez soar a sua voz.
15 And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.	15 Disparou setas, e dissipou-os, raios, e destrui-os.
16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.	16 E apareceram os abismos do mar, e ficaram a descoberto os fundamentos da terra às ameaças do Senhor, ao sopro do vento do seu furor.
17 He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;	17 Estendeu a sua mão do alto, e recebeu-me, e tirou-me das grandes águas.
18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.	18 Livrou-me do meu inimigo poderosíssimo, e daqueles que me tinham ódio, quando eram mais do que eu.
19 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.	19 Assaltaram-me no dia da minha tribulação, mas o Senhor fez-se o meu firme esteio.
20 He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.	20 Pôs-me a salvo, livrou-me, porque se agradou de mim.
21 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.	21 O Senhor me retribuiu segundo a minha justiça, e me deu segundo a pureza das minhas mãos,
22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.	22 porque segui os caminhos do Senhor, e não procedi impiamente, separando-me do meu Deus.
23 For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.	23 Todos os seus mandamentos estavam diante dos meus olhos, e não me afastava dos seus preceitos.
24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.	24 Era irrepreensível para com ele, e guardava-me da minha iniquidade.
25 Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.	25 O Senhor me retribuiu segundo a minha justiça, e segundo a pureza de minhas mãos diante dos seus olhos.
26 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.	26 Com o misericordioso (ó Deus) mostras-te misericordioso, e com o íntegro, íntegro.
27 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.	27 Com o puro mostras-te puro, e com o perverso procedes segundo a sua perversidade.
28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.	28 Salvas o povo humilde e com os teus olhos humilhas os soberbos.
29 For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.	29 Tu, Senhor, és a minha luz, Tu, ó Senhor, alumias as minhas trevas.
30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.	30 Contigo, pois, corro armado a combater, com o meu Deus assalto muralhas.
31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.	31 O caminho de Deus é imaculado, a palavra do Senhor é purificada com o fogo; é o escudo de todos os que esperaram nele.
32 For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?	32 Quem é Deus senão o Senhor? E quem é forte senão o nosso Deus?
33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.	33 O Deus que me cingiu de fortaleza, e tornou plano e perfeito o meu caminho.
34 He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.	34 Que tornou os meus pés (velozes) semelhantes aos dos veados, e me colocou no lugar elevado em que me encontro.
35 He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.	35 Que adestra as minhas mãos para a peleja, e os meus braços para o arco de bronze.
36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.	36 Tu me deste o escudo da tua salvação, e a tua benignidade me engrandeceu.
37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.	37 Alargaste os meus passos debaixo de mim, e não desfalecem os meus pés.
38 I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.	38 Persegui os meus inimigos, e exterminei-os e não tornei atrás antes dos os desbaratar.
39 And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.	39 Consumi-os, despedacei-os de forma que não se levantaram: caíram debaixo dos meus pés.
40 For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.	40 Tu me cingiste de força para o combate, fizeste curvar debaixo de mim os que me resistiam.
41 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.	41 Fizeste que voltassem as costas os meus inimigos, aqueles que me aborreciam, para os exterminar.
42 They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.	42 Clamam, e não hã ninguém que os socorra, clamam ao Senhor, e ele os não responde.
43 Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.	43 Dissipei-os como pó da terra, calquei-os e desfi-los como lodo das ruas.
44 Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.	44 Tu me salvaste das contradições do meu povo; conservaste-me para ser o chefe das nações; um povo, que eu não conhecia, me serviu.
45 Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.	45 Os estrangeiros fingem-se submissos, à menor palavra minha, me obedecem.
46 Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.	46 Os filhos estranhos foram dispersos, saíam, a tremer, dos seus esconderijos.
47 The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.	47 Viva o Senhor, e seja bem-dito o meu Deus, seja exaltado o Deus forte da minha salvação.
48 It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,	48 Tu és, ó Deus, que me vingas e que me sujeitas os povos.
49 And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.	49 Tu o que me tiras dentre os meus inimigos, o que me exaltas sobre os que me resistem, e me livras do homem iníquo.
50 Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.	50 Por isso, Senhor, louvar-te-ei no meio das nações, e entoarei cânticos em honra do teu nome;
51 He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.	51 A ti, que dás grandes vitórias ao teu rei, e usas de misericórdia com Davide, teu ungido, e com a sua descendência para sempre.
