KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Nátán próféta jött ezek után Dávid napjaiban.	1 After him arose Nathan, to prophesy in the time of David.
2 Mert amint a hájat elválasztják a hústól, úgy Dávid is kiválóbb volt Izrael fiainál.	2 As the fat is set apart from the communion sacrifice, so was David chosen out of the Israelites.
3 Oroszlánokkal úgy játszott, mint bárányokkal, és medvékkel úgy bánt, mint a juhok kisbárányaival.	3 He played with lions as though with kids, and with bears as though with lambs.
4 Már ifjúkorában megölte az óriást, és elvette népéről a gyalázatot,	4 While stil a boy, did he not slay the giant and take away the people's shame, by hurling a stone fromhis sling and cutting short the boasting of Goliath?
5 amikor felemelte kezét, s a parittya kövével leütötte a gőgös Góliátot,	5 For he cal ed on the Lord Most High, who gave strength to his right arm to put a mighty warrior to deathand assert the strength of his own people.
6 mert segítségül hívta az Urat, a Mindenhatót, aki erőt adott jobbjának, hogy leterítse a bátor harcos férfit, és felmagasztalja népe szarvát.	6 Hence they gave him credit for ten thousand, and praised him while they blessed the Lord, by offeringhim a crown of glory.
7 Dicsővé tette őt ekként tízezer között, és magasztossá tette az Úr áldásaival, azzal, hogy felajánlotta neki a dicső koronát,	7 For he destroyed the enemies on every front, he annihilated his foes, the Philistines, and crushed theirstrength for ever.
8 és letiporta az ellenséget körös-körül, kiirtotta az ellenséges filiszteusokat – mind a mai napig –, és letörte szarvukat örökre.	8 In al his activities he gave thanks to the Holy One Most High in words of glory; he put all his heart intohis songs out of love for his Creator.
9 Minden tette után magasztalást zengett a Szentnek és Magasságbelinek dicsőítő szavakkal.	9 He placed singers before the altar, melodiously to sing;
10 Teljes szívéből dicsérte az Urat, szerette Istent, aki őt alkotta, és erőt adott neki az ellenséggel szemben.	10 he gave the feasts their splendour, the festivals their solemn pomp, causing the Lord's holy name tobe praised and the sanctuary to resound from dawn.
11 Énekeseket állított fel az oltár előtt, és kellemes dallamokat énekeltetett velük.	11 The Lord took away his sins, making his strength ever greater; he gave him a royal covenant, and aglorious throne in Israel.
12 Fényt adott az ünnepségeknek, és szépekké tette az évenként visszatérő ünnepeket azzal, hogy magasztalták az Úr szent nevét, és már hajnalban dicsővé tették Isten szentélyét.	12 A wise son succeeded him, who lived content, thanks to him.
13 Az Úr megtisztította őt bűneitől, és felmagasztalta szarvát örökre, neki adta a jogot a királyságra, és a dicső trónt Izraelben.	13 Solomon reigned in a time of peace, and God gave him peace al round so that he could raise a houseto his name and prepare an everlasting sanctuary.
14 Bölcs fiú következett utána, s őérte leverte az ellenség minden hatalmát.	14 How wise you were despite your youth, like a river, brimming over with intelligence!
15 Békés időben uralkodott Salamon, mert Isten alávetette minden ellenségét, hogy házat építsen az ő nevének, és szentélyt készítsen örök időkre. Milyen bölcs voltál ifjú korodban!	15 Your mind ranged the earth, you fil ed it with mysterious sayings.
16 Mint a folyó, tele voltál bölcsességgel, elárasztottad a földet szellemeddel,	16 Your name reached the distant islands, and you were loved for your peace.
17 és megtöltötted rejtélyes mondásokkal. Hírneved eljutott messze szigetekig, és kedvelt lettél békeszereteted miatt.	17 Your songs, your proverbs, your sayings and your answers were the wonder of the world.
18 Énekeid, mondásaid, talányaid és megfejtéseid miatt megcsodáltak az országok.	18 In the name of the Lord God, of him who is cal ed the God of Israel, you amassed gold like so muchtin, and made silver as common as lead.
19 Elneveztek az Úr, az Isten nevéről, akit Izrael Istenének hívnak.	19 You abandoned your body to women, you became the slave of your appetites.
20 Úgy gyűjtötted az aranyat, mint a sárgarezet, és úgy halmoztad az ezüstöt, mint az ólmot,	20 You stained your honour, you profaned your stock, so bringing retribution on your children andaffliction for your fol y:
21 de odaadtad ágyékodat asszonyoknak, és szabadjára éltél testeddel,	21 the empire split in two, from Ephraim arose a rebel kingdom.

24 De Isten mégsem hagy fel irgalmával, el nem emészti, tönkre nem teszi alkotásait, nem irtja ki gyökerestül kiválasztottja ivadékát, és nem pusztítja el annak nemzetségét, aki szerette az Urat.	24 Next, Jeroboam son of Nebat, who made Israel sin, and set Ephraim on the way of evil; from then ontheir sins multiplied so excessively as to drive them out of their country;
25 Maradékot hagy meg Jákobnak és Dávidnak gyökérhajtást belőle. Salamon pedig pihenőre tért atyáihoz, és maga után hagyta utódát: »a nép balgaságát«, Roboámot, aki híján volt az okosságnak, és elhidegítette magától a népet döntésével, aztán Jeroboámot, Nábát fiát, aki bűnbe vitte Izraelt, és bűnös útra térítette Efraimot. Bűneik nagyon gyarapodtak, a földjüktől nagyon messzire vitték őket, és mindenféle gonoszságra adták magukat, amíg csak el nem érte őket a megtorlás, és véget nem vetett minden bűnüknek.	25 for they tried out every kind of wickedness, until vengeance overtook them.
