1 Paul and Sylvanus and Timothy: to the church of the Thessalonians, in God the Father, and in the Lord Jesus Christ.	1 Paulus, Silvanus und Timotheus an die Gemeinde der Thessalonicher in Gott, dem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus. Gnade euch und Friede!
2 Grace be to you and peace. We give thanks to God always for you all; making a remembrance of you in our prayers without ceasing,	2 Wir danken Gott immerdar um euer aller willen, wenn wir bei unseren Gebeten euer gedenken.
3 Being mindful of the work of your faith, and labour, and charity, and of the enduring of the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before God and our Father:	3 Unablässig denken wir ja vor unserem Gott und Vater an euer Wirken im Glauben, euer Bemühen in der Liebe und eure Ausdauer in der Hoffnung auf unseren Herrn Jesus Christus.
4 Knowing, brethren beloved of God, your election:	4 Wir wissen, von Gott geliebte Brüder, um eure Erwählung.
5 For our gospel hath not been unto you in word only, but in power also, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much fulness, as you know what manner of men we have been among you for your sakes.	5 Denn unsere Heilsbotschaft erging an euch nicht bloß im Wort, sondern auch in Kraft und in Heiligem Geist und in großer Zuversicht; ihr wißt ja, wie wir auftraten bei euch um euretwillen.
6 And you became followers of us, and of the Lord; receiving the word in much tribulation, with joy of the Holy Ghost:	6 Und ihr wurdet Nachahmer von uns und vom Herrn, da ihr das Wort unter viel Bedrängnis aufnahmt in der Freude Heiligen Geistes;
7 So that you were made a pattern to all that believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.	7 so seid ihr zum Vorbild geworden für alle Gläubigen in Mazedonien und in Achaia.
8 For from you was spread abroad the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia, and in Achaia, but also in every place, your faith which is towards God, is gone forth, so that we need not to speak any thing.	8 Denn von euch aus erklang das Wort des Herrn nicht nur in Mazedonien und Achaia, sondern überallhin ist euer Glaube an Gott gedrungen, so daß wir nicht nötig haben, etwas davon zu sagen.
9 For they themselves relate of us, what manner of entering in we had unto you; and how you turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God.	9 Von selber erzählen die Menschen, welche Aufnahme wir bei euch fanden und wie ihr euch Gott zugewandt habt, weg von den Götzen, um dem lebendigen und wahren Gott zu dienen
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven (whom he raised up from the dead,) Jesus, who hath delivered us from the wrath to come.	10 und seinen Sohn zu erwarten vom Himmel her, den er auferweckte von den Toten, Jesus, der uns rettet vor dem kommenden Zorngericht.
