Galatians 1

1 Paul, an apostle, not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead,	1 Paolo, apostolo non per volere umano né per tramite d’uomo, ma per opera di Gesù Cristo e di Dio Padre che lo ha risuscitato dai morti,
2 And all the brethren who are with me, to the churches of Galatia.	2 e tutti i fratelli che sono con me, alle Chiese della Galazia:
3 Grace be to you, and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,	3 grazia E pace a voi da parte di Dio, Padre nostro, e del Signore Gesù Cristo,
4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present wicked world, according to the will of God and our Father:	4 il quale si sacrificò per i nostri peccati per strapparci al malvagio mondo presente, secondo la volontà di Dio, Padre nostro,
5 To whom is glory for ever and ever. Amen.	5 a cui sia gloria per tutti i secoli. Amen!
6 I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel.	6 Mi stupisco di vedervi così presto passare da colui che vi ha chiamato mediante la grazia di Cristo a un evangelo diverso.
7 Which is not another, only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.	7 Ma di evangelo non ve n’è un altro! Vi sono solo alcuni che stanno gettando il turbamento tra voi e vogliono sconvolgere l’evangelo di Cristo.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema.	8 Ebbene, chiunque vi annunciasse un evangelo divérso da quello che vi abbiamo predicato, fossimo noi stessi o un angelo disceso dal cielo, sia anatema!
9 As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema.	9 Come già vi abbiamo detto, così ripeto ora: se qualcuno vi annuncia un evangelo diverso da quello che avete ricevuto, sia anatema!
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.	10 Intendo con ciò cattivarmi il favore degli uomini o quello di Dio? Se cercassi ancora di piacere agli uomini, non sarei servo di Cristo.
11 For I give you to understand, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.	11 Sì, ve lo dichiaro, o fratelli: l’evangelo da me annunciato non è d’indole umana;
12 For neither did I receive it of man, nor did I learn it; but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.	12 poiché io non l’ho ricevuto né l’ho appreso da uomo, ma l’ebbi per rivelazione di Gesù Cristo.
13 For you have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion: how that, beyond measure, I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it.	13 Voi avete certo sentito parlare della mia condotta di un tempo nel giudaismo: con passione io perseguitavo la Chiesa di Dio e cercavo di devastarla.
14 And I made progress in the Jews' religion above many of my equals in my own nation, being more abundantly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.	14 Nel giudaismo io sorpassavo molti coetanei della mia stirpe, poiché ero molto più di essi accanito sostenitore delle tradizioni dei miei padri.
15 But when it pleased him, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,	15 Ma quando piacque a colui che, fin dal seno di mia madre, mi prescelse e mi chiamò mediante la sua grazia,
16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, immediately I condescended not to flesh and blood.	16 di rivelare in me il Figlio suo, affinché lo annunciassi ai pagani, immediatamente, senza prendere consiglio dalla carne e dal sangue,
17 Neither went I to Jerusalem, to the apostles who were before me: but I went into Arabia, and again I returned to Damascus.	17 e senza salire a Gerusalemme da quelli che prima di me erano apostoli, mi ritirai in Arabia e poi tornai di nuovo a Damasco.
18 Then, after three years, I went to Jerusalem, to see Peter, and I tarried with him fifteen days.	18 In seguito, tre anni dopo, salii a Gerusalemme per far visita a Cefa e restai quindici giorni presso di lui;
19 But other of the apostles I saw none, saving James the brother of the Lord.	19 né vidi alcun altro apostolo all’infuori di Giacomo, il fratello del Signore.
20 Now the things which I write to you, behold, before God, I lie not.	20 E quanto a ciò che vi scrivo, Dio sa che non mentisco!
21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.	21 Poi mi recai nelle regioni della Siria e della Cilicia.
22 And I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea, which were in Christ:	22 Ma di persona continuavo ad essere sconosciuto alle Chiese cristiane della Giudea.
23 But they had heard only: He, who persecuted us in times past, doth now preach the faith which once he impugned:	23 Esse sentivano soltanto dire: «Colui che un tempo ci persero ora predica quella fede che una volta voleva distruggere».
24 And they glorified God in me.	24 E glorificavano Dio a mio riguardo.
