2 Corinthians 7

1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh and of the spirit, perfecting sactification in the fear of God.	1 Da wir nun diese Verheißungen haben, Geliebte, wollen wir uns rein bewahren von aller Befleckung des Fleisches und Geistes und zu vollkommener Heiligkeit gelangen in der Furcht Gottes.
2 Receive us. We have injured no man, we have corrupted no man, we have overreached no man.	2 Gebt uns Raum! Wir haben niemand unrecht getan, niemand zugrunde gerichtet, niemand hintergangen.
3 I speak not this to your condemnation. For we have said before, that you are in our hearts, to die together, and to live together.	3 Nicht um euch anzuklagen, sage ich das; denn soeben habe ich erklärt, daß ihr in unserem Herzen seid auf Sterben und Leben mit euch.
4 Great is my confidence for you, great is my glorying for you. I am filled with comfort: I exceedingly abound with joy in all our tribulation.	4 Groß ist meine Zuversicht zu euch, groß mein Rühmen um euretwillen; ich bin des Trostes voll, überreich an Freude bei all unserer Drangsal.
5 For also when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we suffered all tribulation; combats without, fears within.	5 Denn auch als wir nach Mazedonien kamen, hatte unser Fleisch keine Ruhe, sondern alle Drangsal kam über uns, von außen her Kämpfe, von innen her Angst und Sorge.
6 But God, who comforteth the humble, comforted us by the coming of Titus.	6 Gott aber, der die Gebeugten tröstet, tröstete uns durch die Ankunft des Titus;
7 And not by his coming only, but also by the consolation, wherewith he was comforted in you, relating to us your desire, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced the more.	7 doch nicht allein durch sein Kommen, sondern auch durch den Trost, mit dem er getröstet wurde bei euch; er berichtete uns von eurer Sehnsucht, von eurem Schmerz und von eurem Eifer für mich, so daß ich noch mehr mich freute.
8 For although I made you sorrowful by my epistle, I do not repent; and if I did repent, seeing that the same epistle (although but for a time) did make you sorrowful;	8 Denn wenn ich euch auch betrübte durch den Brief, so gereut es mich nicht, und sollte es mich auch gereuen - da ich sehe, daß jener Brief, wenn auch nur vorübergehend, euch betrübte -,
9 Now I am glad: not because you were made sorrowful; but because you were made sorrowful unto penance. For you were made sorrowful according to God, that you might suffer damage by us in nothing.	9 so freue ich mich jetzt, nicht weil ihr betrübt wurdet, sondern weil eure Betrübnis zur Umkehr führte. Denn ihr wurdet im Sinne Gottes betrübt, so daß ihr in keiner Weise Schaden littet durch uns.
10 For the sorrow that is according to God worketh penance, steadfast unto salvation; but the sorrow of the world worketh death.	10 Denn die Betrübnis im Sinne Gottes bewirkt Umkehr zum Heile, die nicht gereut; die Betrübnis der Welt aber bewirkt Tod.
11 For behold this selfsame thing, that you were made sorrowful according to God, how great carefulness it worketh in you; yea defence, yea indignation, yea fear, yea desire, yea zeal, yea revenge: in all things you have shewed yourselves to be undefiled in the matter.	11 Seht doch, wieviel Streben bewirkte gerade dieses Betrübtwerden im Sinne Gottes für euch; ja, auch Entschuldigung und Bedauern und Furcht und Sehnsucht, sogar Eifer und Bestrafung; in jeder Hinsicht habt ihr bewiesen, daß ihr schuldlos seid in dieser Sache.
12 Wherefore although I wrote to you, it was not for his sake that I did the wrong, nor for him that suffered it; but to manifest our carefulness that we have for you	12 So erfolgte denn auch mein Schreiben an euch nicht dessentwegen, der Unrecht tat, noch auch dessentwegen, der Unrecht litt, sondern damit euer Eifer für uns an den Tag komme unter euch vor Gott.
13 Before God: therefore we were comforted. But in our consolation, we did the more abundantly rejoice for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.	13 Darum sind wir getröstet worden. Zu unserem Troste hinzu freuten wir uns besonders über des Titus Freude, weil sein Geist erquickt wurde von euch allen.
14 And if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I have not been put to shame; but as we have spoken all things to you in truth, so also our boasting that was made to Titus is found a truth.	14 Denn wenn ich mich vor ihm gerühmt hatte über euch, so bin ich nun nicht beschämt worden, sondern wie wir alles in Wahrheit vor euch sagten, so erwies sich auch unser Rühmen vor Titus als Wahrheit.
15 And his bowels are more abundantly towards you; remembering the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you have received him.	15 Sein Herz gehört euch nun noch viel mehr, wenn er des Gehorsams gedenkt von euch allen, wie ihr mit Furcht und Zittern ihn aufgenommen habt.
16 I rejoice that in all things I have confidence in you.	16 Ich freue mich, daß ich mich in allem verlassen kann auf euch.
