1 The vision of Isaias the son of Amos I which he saw concerning Juda and Jerusalem in the days of Ozias, Joathan, Achaz, and Ezechias, kings of Juda	1 Schau des Isaias, des Sohnes des Amoz, die er über Juda und Jerusalem hatte in den Tagen des Ussia, Jotam, Achas, Hiskia, der Könige von Juda.
2 Hear, O ye heavens, and give ear, O earth, for the Lord hath spoken. I have brought up children, and exalted them: but they have despised me.	2 Höret, ihr Himmel, horch auf, du Erde, denn es redet der Herr: "Söhne zog ich heran und erhöhte ich; sie aber lehnten sich gegen mich auf.
3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel hath not known me, and my people hath not understood.	3 Ein Ochs kennt seinen Besitzer, ein Esel die Krippe seines Herrn, Israel aber hat keine Erkenntnis, mein Volk hat keinen Verstand."
4 Woe to the sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a wicked seed, ungracious children: they have forsaken the Lord, they have blasphemed the Holy One of Israel, they are gone away backwards.	4 Wehe, sündiger Haufe, schuldbeladenes Volk, Brut von Verbrechern, Söhne, die frevelhaft handeln! Sie verließen den Herrn, schmähten den Heiligen Israels, wandten den Rücken ihm zu.
5 For what shall I strike you any more, you that increase transgression? the whole head is sick, and the whole heart is sad.	5 Wohin könnt ihr noch Schläge erhalten, da ihr fortgesetzt abfallt? Jedwedes Haupt ist krank, ein jedes Herz matt.
6 From the sole of the foot unto the top of the head, there is no soundness therein: wounds and bruises and swelling sores: they are not bound up, nor dressed, nor fomented with oil.	6 Von der Fußsohle an bis zum Haupt ist nichts Heiles an ihm. Wunde und Strieme und frischer Hieb, nicht ausgedrückt, nicht verbunden, nicht mit Öl erweicht.
7 Your land is desolate, your cities are burnt with fire: your country strangers devour before your face, and it shall be desolate as when wasted by enemies.	7 Euer Land Wüstenei, eure Städte verbrannt, euren Acker verzehren Fremde vor euch; Verwüstung herrscht wie bei Sodoms Zerstörung.
8 And the daughter of Sion shall be left as a covert in a vineyard, and as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, and as a city that is laid waste.	8 Die Tochter Sion blieb übrig wie eine Hütte im Weinberg, wie ein Nachtlager im Gurkenfeld, wie eine bedrängte Stadt.
9 Except the Lord of hosts had left us seed, we had been as Sodom, and we should have been like to Gomorrha.	9 Hätte nicht der Herr der Heerscharen uns einen Rest gelassen, wir wären geworden wie Sodom, Gomorra wären wir gleich.
10 Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom, give ear to the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrha.	10 Höret das Wort des Herrn, ihr Sodomsgebieter! Vernimm die Weisung unseres Gottes, du Gomorravolk!
11 To what purpose do you offer me the multitude of your victims, saith the Lord? I am full, I desire not holocausts of rams, and fat of fatlings, and blood of calves, and lambs, and buck goats.	11 "Wozu soll mir die Menge eurer Schlachtopfer dienen?", so spricht der Herr. "Der Widder Brandopfer habe ich satt und der Mastkälber Fett; der Stiere, der Lämmer, der Böcke Blut, es sagt mir nicht zu!
12 When you came to appear before me, who required these things at your hands, that you should walk in my courts?	12 Wenn ihr vor meinem Antlitz erscheint, wer fordert dies von euch, daß ihr meine Höfe zertretet?
13 Offer sacrifice no more in vain: incense is an abomination tome. The new moons, and the sabbaths, and other festivals I will not abide, your assemblies are wicked.	13 Bringt sinnlose Gaben nicht länger mehr dar! Räucherwerk ist mir abscheulich! Neumond, Sabbat und Feiertag - ich ertrage nicht Frevel und Fest!
14 My soul hateth your new moons, and your solemnities: they are become troublesome to me, I am weary of bearing them.	14 Eure Neumonde und eure Feiertage haßt meine Seele. Sie sind mir zur Last geworden, die zu tragen ich müde bin!
15 And when you stretch forth your hands, I will turn away my eyes from you: and when you multiply prayer, I will not hear: for your hands are full of blood.	15 Breitet ihr eure Hände aus, so verhülle ich meine Augen vor euch, häuft ihr eure Gebete an, so höre ich nicht; denn eure Hände sind voll der Blutschuld!
16 Wash yourselves, be clean, take away the evil of your devices from my eyes: cease to do perversely,	16 Wascht und reinigt euch! Schafft eurer Taten Bosheit mir aus den Augen hinweg, hört auf, das Böse zu tun!
17 Learn to do well: seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge for the fatherless, defend the widow.	17 Lernt Gutes wirken, trachtet nach Recht, leitet den Unterdrückten, setzt euch im Gericht für den Verwaisten ein, führt den Rechtsstreit der Witwe!
18 And then come, and accuse me, saith the Lord: if your sins be as scarlet, they shall be made as white as snow: and if they be red as crimson, they shall be white as wool.	18 Dann kommt, und wir wollen verhandeln", spricht der Herr. "Sind eure Sünden wie Scharlach, sie sollen weiß werden wie Schnee, sind sie wie Purpur so rot, sie sollen werden wie Wolle.
19 if you be willing, and will hearken to me, you shall eat the good things of the land.	19 Seid ihr willig und folgsam, so dürft ihr die Güter des Landes genießen.
20 But if you will not, and will provoke me to wrath: the sword shall devour you because the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.	20 Weigert ihr euch und trotzt, so werdet ihr vom Schwerte gefressen." Wohlan, der Mund des Herrn hat gesprochen!
21 How is the faithful city, that was full of judgment, become a harlot? justice dwelt in it, but now murderers.	21 Wie ward doch zur Dirne die Stadt, die einst so getreu, erfüllt von Recht; Gerechtigkeit weilte in ihr, jetzt aber bewohnen sie Mörder!
22 Thy silver is turned into dress: thy wine is mingled with water.	22 Dein Silber ist zu Schlacken geworden, dein Wein mit Wasser verschnitten.
23 Thy princes are faithless, companions of thieves: they all love bribes, the run after rewards. They judge not for the fatherless: and the widow's cometh not in to them.	23 Deine Fürsten - Empörer sind sie und Diebesgesellen; alle haben Bestechung gern, laufen Geschenken nach. Dem Verwaisten helfen sie nicht zum Recht, die Sache der Witwe gelangt nicht zu ihnen.
24 Therefore saith the Lord the God of hosts, the mighty one of Israel: Ah! I will comfort myself over my adversaries: and I will be revenged of my enemies.	24 Darum spricht der Gebieter, der Heerscharen Herr, der Starke in Israel: "Ha, an meinen Gegnern verschaffe ich mir Genugtuung, an meinen Feinden nehme ich Rache.
25 And I will turn my hand to thee, and I will clean purge away thy dress, and I will take away all thy tin.	25 Ich wende meine Hand wider dich, läutere wie mit Laugensalz deine Schlacken, scheide alle deine Bleistücke aus.
26 And I will restore thy judges se they were before, and thy counsellors as of old. After this thou shalt be called the city of the just, a faithful city.	26 Dann will ich dir Richter geben wie ehedem und Ratsherren so wie am Anfang. Danach wird man dich nennen: "Wohnort der Gerechtigkeit, getreue Stadt."
27 Sion shall be redeemed in judgment, and they shall bring her back in justice.	27 Sion wird durch Recht erlöst, durch Gerechtigkeit seine Bekehrten.
28 And he shall destroy the wicked, and the sinners together: and they that have forsaken the Lord, shall be consumed.	28 Zusammenbruch aber trifft Empörer und Sünder insgesamt; die den Herrn verlassen, werden vergehen."
29 For they shall be confounded for the idols, to which they have sacrificed: and you shall be ashamed of the gardens which you have chosen.	29 Ja, ihr werdet beschämt ob der Eichen, die eure Lust sind, erröten über die Gärten, die ihr bevorzugt.
30 When you shall be as an oak with the leaves falling off, and as a garden without water.	30 Denn ihr selber werdet der Eiche gleich, deren Laub verwelkt, und dem Garten, der kein Wasser enthält.
31 And your strength shall be as the ashes of tow, and your work as a spark: and both shall burn together, and there shall be none to quench it.	31 Und es wird der Starke zum Werg und zum Funken sein Tun; beide zusammen verbrennen, und niemand kann löschen.
