DOUAI-RHEIMSRevised Standard Version Catholic Edition
For the sons of Core, a psalm of a canticle. The foundations thereof are in the holy mountains:1 A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. A Song. On the holy mount stands the city he founded;
The Lord loveth the gates of Sion above all the tabernacles of Jacob.2 the LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob.
Glorious things are said of thee, O city of God.3 Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. [Selah]
I will be mindful of Rahab and of Babylon knowing me. Behold the foreigners, and Tyre, and the people of the Ethiopians, these were there.4 Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Ethiopia-- "This one was born there," they say.
Shall not Sion say: This man and that man is born in her? and the Highest himself hath founded her.5 And of Zion it shall be said, "This one and that one were born in her"; for the Most High himself will establish her.
The Lord shall tell in his writings of peoples and of princes, of them that have been in her.6 The LORD records as he registers the peoples, "This one was born there." [Selah]
The dwelling in thee is as it were of all rejoicing.7 Singers and dancers alike say, "All my springs are in you."
