τω δαυιδ ευλογει η ψυχη μου τον κυριον και παντα τα εντος μου το ονομα το αγιον αυτου1 A prayer of one afflicted, when he is faint and pours out his complaint before the LORD. Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry come to thee!
ευλογει η ψυχη μου τον κυριον και μη επιλανθανου πασας τας ανταποδοσεις αυτου2 Do not hide thy face from me in the day of my distress! Incline thy ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call!
τον ευιλατευοντα πασαις ταις ανομιαις σου τον ιωμενον πασας τας νοσους σου3 For my days pass away like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace.
τον λυτρουμενον εκ φθορας την ζωην σου τον στεφανουντα σε εν ελεει και οικτιρμοις4 My heart is smitten like grass, and withered; I forget to eat my bread.
τον εμπιπλωντα εν αγαθοις την επιθυμιαν σου ανακαινισθησεται ως αετου η νεοτης σου5 Because of my loud groaning my bones cleave to my flesh.
ποιων ελεημοσυνας ο κυριος και κριμα πασι τοις αδικουμενοις6 I am like a vulture of the wilderness, like an owl of the waste places;
εγνωρισεν τας οδους αυτου τω μωυση τοις υιοις ισραηλ τα θεληματα αυτου7 I lie awake, I am like a lonely bird on the housetop.
οικτιρμων και ελεημων ο κυριος μακροθυμος και πολυελεος8 All the day my enemies taunt me, those who deride me use my name for a curse.
ουκ εις τελος οργισθησεται ουδε εις τον αιωνα μηνιει9 For I eat ashes like bread, and mingle tears with my drink,
ου κατα τας αμαρτιας ημων εποιησεν ημιν ουδε κατα τας ανομιας ημων ανταπεδωκεν ημιν10 because of thy indignation and anger; for thou hast taken me up and thrown me away.
οτι κατα το υψος του ουρανου απο της γης εκραταιωσεν κυριος το ελεος αυτου επι τους φοβουμενους αυτον11 My days are like an evening shadow; I wither away like grass.
καθ' οσον απεχουσιν ανατολαι απο δυσμων εμακρυνεν αφ' ημων τας ανομιας ημων12 But thou, O LORD, art enthroned for ever; thy name endures to all generations.
καθως οικτιρει πατηρ υιους οικτιρησεν κυριος τους φοβουμενους αυτον13 Thou wilt arise and have pity on Zion; it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come.
οτι αυτος εγνω το πλασμα ημων μνησθητι οτι χους εσμεν14 For thy servants hold her stones dear, and have pity on her dust.
ανθρωπος ωσει χορτος αι ημεραι αυτου ωσει ανθος του αγρου ουτως εξανθησει15 The nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
οτι πνευμα διηλθεν εν αυτω και ουχ υπαρξει και ουκ επιγνωσεται ετι τον τοπον αυτου16 For the LORD will build up Zion, he will appear in his glory;
το δε ελεος του κυριου απο του αιωνος και εως του αιωνος επι τους φοβουμενους αυτον και η δικαιοσυνη αυτου επι υιους υιων17 he will regard the prayer of the destitute, and will not despise their supplication.
τοις φυλασσουσιν την διαθηκην αυτου και μεμνημενοις των εντολων αυτου του ποιησαι αυτας18 Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet unborn may praise the LORD:
κυριος εν τω ουρανω ητοιμασεν τον θρονον αυτου και η βασιλεια αυτου παντων δεσποζει19 that he looked down from his holy height, from heaven the LORD looked at the earth,
ευλογειτε τον κυριον παντες οι αγγελοι αυτου δυνατοι ισχυι ποιουντες τον λογον αυτου του ακουσαι της φωνης των λογων αυτου20 to hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die;
ευλογειτε τον κυριον πασαι αι δυναμεις αυτου λειτουργοι αυτου ποιουντες το θελημα αυτου21 that men may declare in Zion the name of the LORD, and in Jerusalem his praise,
ευλογειτε τον κυριον παντα τα εργα αυτου εν παντι τοπω της δεσποτειας αυτου ευλογει η ψυχη μου τον κυριον22 when peoples gather together, and kingdoms, to worship the LORD.
He has broken my strength in mid-course; he has shortened my days.
"O my God," I say, "take me not hence in the midst of my days, thou whose years endure throughout all generations!"
Of old thou didst lay the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
They will perish, but thou dost endure; they will all wear out like a garment. Thou changest them like raiment, and they pass away;
but thou art the same, and thy years have no end.
The children of thy servants shall dwell secure; their posterity shall be established before thee.
