1 - Al corifeo: sopra «Giglio del testimonio». Di Asaf. Salmo.	1 A psalm for Asaph. O God, the heathens are come into thy inheritance, they have defiled thy holy temple: they have made Jerusalem as a place to keep fruit.
2 O pastore d'Israele, ascolta, tu che guidi Giuseppe come una pecorella! O assiso sui Cherubini, mostrati [nel tuo splendore],	2 They have given the dead bodies of thy servants to be meat for the fowls of the air: the flesh of thy saints for the beasts of the earth.
3 dinanzi ad Efraim, Beniamino e Manasse. Sveglia la tua potenzae vieni a salvarci.	3 They have poured out their blood as water, round about Jerusalem and there was none to bury them.
4 O Dio [degli eserciti], ristabiliscici, e mostra la tua faccia e sarem salvi!	4 We are become a reproach to our neighbours: a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.
5 O Signore, Dio degli eserciti, sino a quando sarai tu adirato contro la preghiera del tuo servo?	5 How long, O Lord, wilt thou be angry for ever: shall thy zeal be kindled like a fire?
6 ci nutrirai con pane di lagrime e ci abbevererai di pianto in [larga] misura?	6 Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that have not known thee: and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.
7 Ci hai reso [oggetto di] contesa a' nostri vicini, e i nemici nostri si fan beffe di noi.	7 Because they have devoured Jacob; and have laid waste his place.
8 O Dio degli eserciti, ristabiliscici, e mostra la tua faccia e sarem salvi.	8 Remember not our former iniquities: let thy mercies speedily prevent us, for we are become exceeding poor.
9 Una vigna dall'Egitto trasportasti: cacciasti via nazioni e la piantasti.	9 Help us, O God, our saviour: and for the glory of thy name, O Lord, deliver us: and forgive us our sins for thy name's sake:
10 Le facesti strada davanti, facesti barbicar le sue radici e riempì la terra.	10 Lest they should say among the Gentiles: Where is their God? And let him be made known among the nations before our eyes, By the revenging the blood of thy servants, which hath been shed:
11 Coprì i monti la sua ombra, e i suoi rami i cedri di Dio. [O Dio degli eserciti, ristabiliscici, e mostra la tua faccia e sarem salvi].	11 let the sighing of the prisoners come in before thee. According to the greatness of thy arm, take possession of the children of them that have been put to death.
12 Stese i suoi tralci sino al mare e sino al fiume le sue propaggini.	12 And render to our neighbours sevenfold in their bosom: the reproach wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.
13 Perchè hai distrutto, la sua muraglia, e la vendemmiano quanti passan per via?	13 But we thy people, and the sheep of thy pasture, will give thanks to thee for ever. We will shew forth thy praise, unto generation and generation.
14 L'ha devastata il cinghiale del bosco, e il cinghiale selvatico se nè pasciuto.
15 O Dio degli eserciti, volgiti, [e mostra la tua faccia e sarem salvi]. Guarda dal cielo, e vedi, visita questa vigna,
16 e ristorala, lei che la tua destra piantò, e [veglia] sul figliuolo dell'uomo che hai reso forte per te.
17 [E' stata] bruciata col fuoco e divelta:[che i suoi nemici] per la minaccia del tuo volto periscano!
18 Sia la tua mano sull'uomo della tua destrae sul figliuolo dell'uomo che hai reso forte per te.
19 E noi non ci allontaneremo da te; ci ridarai la vita e invocheremo il tuo nome.
20 O Signore, Dio degli eserciti, ristabiliscici, e mostra la tua faccia e sarem salvi.
