2 Timothy 3

1 And know this: that in the last days perilous times will press near.	1 Sappi poi che negli ultimi giorni sopravverranno tempi difficili.
2 Men will be lovers of themselves, greedy, self-exalting, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked,	2 Gli uomini, infatti, saranno egoisti, amanti del denaro, vanagloriosi, arroganti, bestemmiatori, disobbedienti ai genitori, ingrati, empi,
3 without affection, without peace, false accusers, unchaste, cruel, without kindness,	3 senz'amore, sleali, calunniatori, intemperanti, spietati, nemici del bene,
4 traitorous, reckless, self-important, loving pleasure more than God,	4 traditori, protervi, accecati dall'orgoglio, amanti del piacere più che di Dio;
5 even having the appearance of piety while rejecting its virtue. And so, avoid them.	5 gente che ha l'apparenza della pietà, ma ne rinnega la forza. Questi pure cerca di evitare.
6 For among these are ones who penetrate houses and lead away, like captives, foolish women burdened with sins, who are led away by means of various desires,	6 Di costoro, infatti, fanno parte certuni che s'introducono nelle case ed accalappiano donnicciole, cariche di peccati, sballottate da voglie di ogni sorta,
7 always learning, yet never achieving knowledge of the truth.	7 le quali stanno sempre lì ad imparare, senza mai poter arrivare alla conoscenza perfetta della verità.
8 And in the same manner that Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so also will these resist the truth, men corrupted in mind, reprobates from the faith.	8 Allo stesso modo che Iannes e Iambres si opposero a Mosè, anche questi si oppongono alla verità, da uomini corrotti di mente quali sono, riprovati circa la fede.
9 But they will not advance beyond a certain point. For the folly of the latter shall be made manifest to all, just as that of the former.	9 Costoro però non andranno molto avanti, dato che la loro stoltezza si farà palese a tutti, come lo fu anche la stoltezza di quelli.
10 But you have fully comprehended my doctrine, instruction, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,	10 Tu però hai seguito da vicino il mio insegnamento, la mia condotta, i miei disegni, la mia fede, la longanimità, la carità, la pazienza,
11 persecutions, afflictions; such things as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; how I endured persecutions, and how the Lord rescued me from everything.	11 le persecuzioni e i patimenti, come quelli che mi capitarono ad Antiochia, a Iconio e a Listra. Quali persecuzioni non ho sofferto! Eppure da tutte mi ha liberato il Signore.
12 And all those who willingly live the piety in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.	12 Anche tutti coloro che vogliono vivere pienamente in Cristo Gesù, saranno perseguitati.
13 But evil men and deceivers will advance in evil, erring and sending into error.	13 I malvagi invece e gl'impostori faranno sempre maggiori progressi nel male, ingannando gli altri e venendo ingannati a loro volta.
14 Yet truly, you should remain in those things which you have learned and which have been entrusted to you. For you know from whom you have learned them.	14 Tu però rimani fedele alle cose che hai imparato e delle quali hai acquistato la certezza, ben sapendo da quali persone le hai imparate
15 And, from your infancy, you have known the Sacred Scriptures, which are able to instruct you toward salvation, through the faith which is in Christ Jesus.	15 e che fin da bambino conosci le sacre Lettere: esse possono procurarti la sapienza che conduce alla salvezza per mezzo della fede in Cristo Gesù.
16 All Scripture, having been divinely inspired, is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in justice,	16 Ogni Scrittura, infatti, è ispirata da Dio e utile a insegnare, a riprendere, a correggere, a educare nella giustizia,
17 so that the man of God may be perfect, having been trained for every good work.	17 affinché l'uomo di Dio sia ben formato, perfettamente attrezzato per ogni opera buona.
