2 Timothy 3

1 And know this: that in the last days perilous times will press near.	1 Devi anche sapere che negli ultimi tempi verranno momenti difficili.
2 Men will be lovers of themselves, greedy, self-exalting, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked,	2 Gli uomini saranno egoisti, amanti del denaro, vanitosi, orgogliosi, bestemmiatori, ribelli ai genitori, ingrati, senza religione,
3 without affection, without peace, false accusers, unchaste, cruel, without kindness,	3 senza amore, sleali, maldicenti, intemperanti, intrattabili, nemici del bene,
4 traitorous, reckless, self-important, loving pleasure more than God,	4 traditori, sfrontati, accecati dall'orgoglio, attaccati ai piaceri più che a Dio,
5 even having the appearance of piety while rejecting its virtue. And so, avoid them.	5 con la parvenza della pietà, mentre ne hanno rinnegata la forza interiore. Guardati bene da costoro!
6 For among these are ones who penetrate houses and lead away, like captives, foolish women burdened with sins, who are led away by means of various desires,	6 Al loro numero appartengono certi tali che entrano nelle case e accalappiano donnicciole cariche di peccati, mosse da passioni di ogni genere,
7 always learning, yet never achieving knowledge of the truth.	7 che stanno sempre lì ad imparare, senza riuscire mai a giungere alla conoscenza della verità.
8 And in the same manner that Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so also will these resist the truth, men corrupted in mind, reprobates from the faith.	8 Sull'esempio di Iannes e di Iambres che si opposero a Mosè, anche costoro si oppongono alla verità: uomini dalla mente corrotta e riprovati in materia di fede.
9 But they will not advance beyond a certain point. For the folly of the latter shall be made manifest to all, just as that of the former.	9 Costoro però non progrediranno oltre, perché la loro stoltezza sarà manifestata a tutti, come avvenne per quelli.
10 But you have fully comprehended my doctrine, instruction, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,	10 Tu invece mi hai seguito da vicino nell'insegnamento, nella condotta, nei propositi, nella fede, nella magnanimità, nell'amore del prossimo, nella pazienza,
11 persecutions, afflictions; such things as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; how I endured persecutions, and how the Lord rescued me from everything.	11 nelle persecuzioni, nelle sofferenze, come quelle che incontrai ad Antiòchia, a Icònio e a Listri. Tu sai bene quali persecuzioni ho sofferto. Eppure il Signore mi ha liberato da tutte.
12 And all those who willingly live the piety in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.	12 Del resto, tutti quelli che vogliono vivere piamente in Cristo Gesù saranno perseguitati.
13 But evil men and deceivers will advance in evil, erring and sending into error.	13 Ma i malvagi e gli impostori andranno sempre di male in peggio, ingannatori e ingannati nello stesso tempo.
14 Yet truly, you should remain in those things which you have learned and which have been entrusted to you. For you know from whom you have learned them.	14 Tu però rimani saldo in quello che hai imparato e di cui sei convinto, sapendo da chi l'hai appreso
15 And, from your infancy, you have known the Sacred Scriptures, which are able to instruct you toward salvation, through the faith which is in Christ Jesus.	15 e che fin dall'infanzia conosci le sacre Scritture: queste possono istruirti per la salvezza, che si ottiene per mezzo della fede in Cristo Gesù.
16 All Scripture, having been divinely inspired, is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in justice,	16 Tutta la Scrittura infatti è ispirata da Dio e utile per insegnare, convincere, correggere e formare alla giustizia, perché l'uomo di Dio sia completo e ben preparato per ogni opera buona.
17 so that the man of God may be perfect, having been trained for every good work.
