3 Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us. For we have been filled with utter disdain. | 3 Come gli occhi dell'ancella son fissamente rivolti alle mani della padrona; così gli occhi nostri al Signore Dio nostro in aspettando, ch'egli abbia di noi pietà. |
4 For our soul has been greatly filled. We are the disgrace of those who have abundance and the disdain of the arrogant. | 4 Abbi pietà di noi, o Signore, abbi di noi pietà; perocché siam satolli di disprezzo oìtre modo: |
5 Perché molto ne è satolla l'anima nostra: ella oggetto di obbrobrio ai facoltosi, e di scherno ai superbi. |
