Exodus 40

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	1 Il Signore disse a Mosè:
2 “In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall raise the tabernacle of the testimony,	2 "Il primo giorno del primo mese erigerai la dimora, la tenda del convegno.
3 and you shall place the ark in it, and you shall release the veil before it.	3 Vi metterai l'arca della testimonianza e coprirai l'arca con il velo.
4 And having brought in the table, you shall place the things which were solemnly commanded upon it. The lampstand shall stand with its lamps,	4 Porterai la tavola e ne farai la disposizione, porterai il candelabro e vi porrai sopra le sue lampade.
5 and the altar of gold, in which the incense is burned, shall stand before the ark of the testimony. You shall place the tent at the entrance of the tabernacle,	5 Metterai l'altare d'oro per l'incenso davanti all'arca della testimonianza e porrai la cortina dell'ingresso della dimora.
6 and before it, the altar of holocaust.	6 Metterai l'altare dell'olocausto davanti all'ingresso della dimora della tenda del convegno.
7 The washtub shall stand between the altar and the tabernacle, and you shall fill it with water.	7 Porrai la vasca tra la tenda del convegno e l'altare e vi metterai l'acqua.
8 And you shall encompass the atrium and its entrance with hangings.	8 Porrai intorno il recinto e metterai la cortina della porta del recinto.
9 And, having taken up the oil of unction, you shall anoint the tabernacle along with its articles, so that they may be sanctified.	9 Prenderai l'olio dell'unzione e ungerai la dimora e tutto quello che vi si trova, la consacrerai con tutti i suoi oggetti: e sarà santa.
10 The altar of holocaust and all its vessels,	10 Ungerai l'altare dell'olocausto e tutti i suoi oggetti: consacrerai l'altare e sarà l'altare santissimo.
11 the washtub with its base, and all things, you shall consecrate with the oil of unction, so that they may be the Holy of holies.	11 Ungerai la vasca e il suo supporto: la consacrerai.
12 And you shall bring forward Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tabernacle of the testimony, and, having washed them with water,	12 Farai avvicinare Aronne e i suoi figli all'ingresso della tenda del convegno e li laverai con acqua.
13 you shall clothe them in the holy vestments, so that they may minister to me, and so that their unction may accomplish an everlasting priesthood.”	13 Rivestirai Aronne con le vesti sacre, lo ungerai, lo consacrerai e sarà mio sacerdote.
14 And Moses did all that the Lord had instructed.	14 Farai avvicinare i suoi figli e li rivestirai con tuniche.
15 Therefore, in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, the tabernacle was put in place.	15 Li ungerai come hai unto il loro padre e saranno miei sacerdoti: la loro unzione sarà per essi come un sacerdozio perenne, per le loro generazioni".
16 And Moses raised it up, and he positioned the panels as well as the bases and the bars, and he set up the columns,	16 Mosè fece secondo tutto quello che il Signore gli aveva ordinato.
17 and he stretched out the roof over the tabernacle, imposing a cover above it, just as the Lord had decreed.	17 Il primo mese del secondo anno, il primo del mese, fu eretta la dimora.
18 And he placed the testimony in the ark, applying the bars beneath, and the oracle above.	18 Mosè eresse la dimora, pose le sue basi, mise le sue assi, pose le sue traverse, innalzò le sue colonne;
19 And when he had brought the ark into the tabernacle, he drew the veil before it, in order to fulfill the commandment of the Lord.	19 distese la tenda sopra la dimora e vi pose sopra la copertura, in alto, come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè.
20 And he placed the table in the tabernacle of the testimony, at the north side, beyond the veil,	20 Prese e pose la testimonianza nell'arca, mise le stanghe all'arca, pose il coperchio sull'arca;
21 arranging before it the bread of the presence, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.	21 portò l'arca nella dimora, mise il velo della cortina e coprì l'arca della testimonianza, come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè.
22 And he placed the lampstand in the tabernacle of the testimony, away from the table, on the south side,	22 Mise la tavola nella tenda del convegno, sul fianco della dimora, a settentrione, all'esterno del velo;
23 setting the lamps in order, according to the precept of the Lord.	23 dispose su di essa il pane, in focacce sovrapposte, davanti al Signore, com'egli aveva ordinato a Mosè.
24 He also positioned the altar of gold under the roof of the testimony, opposite the veil,	24 Pose il candelabro nella tenda del convegno, di fronte alla tavola, sul fianco della dimora, a sud;
25 and he heaped upon it the incense of aromatics, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.	25 vi collocò sopra le lampade di fronte al Signore, com'egli aveva ordinato a Mosè.
26 And he positioned the tent at the entrance of the tabernacle of the testimony,	26 Mise l'altare d'oro nella tenda del convegno davanti al velo,
27 and the altar of holocaust in the vestibule of the testimony, offering the holocaust and the sacrifices upon it, just as the Lord had decreed.	27 e vi fece fumare sopra l'incenso profumato, come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè.
28 Likewise, he stationed the washtub between the tabernacle of the testimony and the altar, filling it with water.	28 Mise la cortina all'ingresso della dimora,
29 And Moses and Aaron, along with his sons, washed their hands and feet,	29 pose l'altare dell'olocausto all'ingresso della dimora della tenda del convegno e offrì su di esso l'olocausto e l'oblazione, come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè.
30 whenever they would enter the covering of the covenant, and when they approached to the altar, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.	30 Pose la vasca tra la tenda del convegno e l'altare e vi mise l'acqua per l'abluzione:
31 And he raised up the atrium around the tabernacle and the altar, drawing the hanging at its entrance. After all these things were perfected,	31 con quest'acqua Mosè, Aronne e i suoi figli si lavavano le mani e i piedi;
32 the cloud covered the tabernacle of the testimony, and the glory of the Lord filled it.	32 quando entravano nella tenda del convegno e si avvicinavano all'altare si lavavano, come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè.
33 Neither could Moses enter the covering of the covenant: the cloud was covering all things, and the majesty of the Lord was flashing. For the cloud had covered everything.	33 Innalzò il recinto intorno alla dimora e all'altare e mise la cortina alla porta del recinto. Così Mosè terminò il lavoro.
34 Whenever the cloud departed from the tabernacle, the sons of Israel set out by their companies.	34 La nube coprì la tenda del convegno e la gloria del Signore riempì la dimora.
35 But if it remained hanging over it, they remained in the same place.	35 Mosè non poté entrare nella tenda del convegno perché la nube vi dimorava sopra e la gloria del Signore riempiva la dimora.
36 Certainly, the cloud of the Lord lay over the tabernacle by day, and the fire by night, being seen by all the people of Israel throughout all their resting places.	36 Quando la nube si alzava al di sopra della dimora, i figli d'Israele si spostavano in tutte le loro tappe;
	37 e se la nube non si alzava, non si spostavano finché non si fosse alzata.
	38 Perché di giorno la nube del Signore era sopra la dimora e di notte vi era sopra un fuoco, agli occhi di tutta la casa d'Israele in tutte le sue tappe.
