Der zweite Brief an die Thessaloniker 1

1 Paulus, Silvanus und Timotheus an die Gemeinde der Thessalonicher in Gott, unserem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus.
2 Gnade euch und Friede von Gott, dem Vater, und vom Herrn Jesus Christus.	2 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Dank schulden wir Gott allezeit um euretwillen, Brüder, und es ist geziemend, da euer Glaube so kraftvoll wächst und bei jedem einzelnen von euch allen die Liebe zueinander so zunimmt,	3 We must always thank God for you, brothers; quite rightly, because your faith is growing so wonderfullyand the mutual love that each one of you has for al never stops increasing.
4 daß wir selber uns rühmen über euch bei den Gemeinden Gottes wegen eurer Ausdauer und eures Glaubens bei all euren Verfolgungen und Drangsalen, die ihr zu ertragen habt.	4 Among the churches of God we take special pride in you for your perseverance and faith under al thepersecutions and hardships you have to bear.
5 Dies ist ein Anzeichen des gerechten Gerichtes Gottes: ihr sollt würdig werden für das Reich Gottes, für das ihr ja leidet.	5 It al shows that God's judgement is just, so that you may be found worthy of the kingdom of God; it isfor the sake of this that you are suffering now.
6 Es ist ja gerecht von Gott, daß er euren Bedrängern mit Drangsal,	6 For God's justice wil surely mean hardship being inflicted on those who are now inflicting hardship onyou,
7 euch aber, den Bedrängten, mit Erquickung vergelte, zusammen mit uns, wenn der Herr Jesus sich offenbaren wird vom Himmel her mit den Engeln seiner Macht,	7 and for you who are now suffering hardship, relief with us, when the Lord Jesus appears from heavenwith the angels of his power.
8 in Feuerflammen, und Vergeltung übt an denen, die Gott nicht kennen und sich nicht beugen dem Evangelium unseres Herrn Jesus [Christus].	8 He wil come amid flaming fire; he wil impose a penalty on those who do not acknowledge God andrefuse to accept the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
9 Sie werden bestraft werden mit ewigem Verderben, fern vom Angesicht des Herrn und von der Herrlichkeit seiner Macht,	9 Their punishment is to be lost eternal y, excluded from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength
10 wenn er kommt, um an jenem Tag verherrlicht zu werden in seinen Heiligen und bewundert zu werden in allen, die glaubten - gläubig angenommen wurde ja unser Zeugnis bei euch.	10 on that day when he comes to be glorified among his holy ones and marvelled at by al who believe inhim; and you are among those who believed our witness.
11 Darum auch beten wir allzeit für euch, es mache unser Gott euch würdig der Berufung, und er führe in seiner Kraft zur Vollendung allen Willen zum Guten und das Werk des Glaubens,	11 In view of this we also pray continual y that our God wil make you worthy of his cal , and by his powerfulfil all your desires for goodness, and complete al that you have been doing through faith;
12 damit verherrlicht werde der Name unseres Herrn Jesus [Christus] in euch und ihr in ihm - dank der Gnade unseres Gottes und des Herrn Jesus Christus.	12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you and you in him, by the grace of ourGod and the Lord Jesus Christ.
