1 Dies habe ich euch gesagt, damit ihr nicht Anstoß nehmt.	1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
2 Aus den Synagogen werden sie euch ausstoßen; ja, es kommt die Stunde, da jeder, der euch tötet, einen Opferdienst vor Gott zu verrichten glaubt.	2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
3 Und das werden sie euch tun, weil sie weder den Vater erkannten noch mich.	3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
4 Doch ich habe euch dies gesagt, damit ihr, wenn die Stunde dafür kommt, euch erinnert, daß ich es euch gesagt habe. Dies habe ich euch nicht von Anfang an gesagt, weil ich bei euch war.	4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
5 Nun aber gehe ich zu dem, der mich gesandt hat, und keiner von euch fragt mich: Wohin gehst du?	5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?
6 Sondern weil ich dies euch sagte, hat die Trauer euer Herz erfüllt.	6 But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
7 Doch ich sage euch die Wahrheit: Es ist gut für euch, daß ich hingehe; denn gehe ich nicht hin, wird der Beistand nicht zu euch kommen; wenn ich aber hingehe, werde ich ihn zu euch senden.	7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 Und wenn dieser kommt, wird er der Welt den Nachweis führen von Sünde, von Gerechtigkeit und von Gericht.	8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Von Sünde, da sie nicht an mich glaubten;	9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 von Gerechtigkeit, da ich zum Vater gehe und ihr mich nicht mehr seht;	10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 von Gericht, da der Fürst dieser Welt gerichtet ist.	11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 Noch vieles habe ich euch zu sagen, doch ihr könnt es jetzt nicht tragen;	12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 wenn aber jener kommt, der Geist der Wahrheit, wird er euch hinführen zur vollen Wahrheit; denn nicht von sich aus wird er reden, sondern was er hört, wird er reden, und das Kommende wird er euch künden.	13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 Er wird mich verherrlichen; denn von dem Meinen wird er nehmen und euch künden.	14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 Alles, was der Vater hat, ist mein; deswegen sagte ich: Er wird von dem Meinen nehmen und es euch künden.	15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
16 Eine kleine Weile, und ihr seht mich nicht mehr, und wieder eine kleine Weile, und ihr werdet mich sehen [, denn ich gehe zum Vater]."	16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
17 Da sagten einige von seinen Jüngern zueinander: "Was heißt das, was er zu uns sagt: Eine kleine Weile, und ihr seht mich nicht, und wieder eine kleine Weile, und ihr werdet mich sehen? Und: Ich gehe zum Vater?"	17 Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
18 Sie sagten also: "Was ist das, was nennt er eine kleine Weile? Wir verstehen nicht, wovon er redet."	18 They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
19 Jesus merkte, daß sie ihn fragen wollten, und sagte zu ihnen: "Darüber fragt ihr euch untereinander, weil ich gesagt habe: Eine kleine Weile, und ihr seht mich nicht, und wieder eine kleine Weile, und ihr werdet mich sehen?	19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye inquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
20 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Ihr werdet weinen und klagen, die Welt aber wird sich freuen. Ihr werdet trauern, doch eure Trauer wird zur Freude werden.	20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
21 Wenn die Frau gebiert, hat sie Trauer, weil ihre Stunde gekommen ist; hat sie aber das Kind geboren, denkt sie nicht mehr an die Not, vor Freude, daß ein Mensch zur Welt geboren wurde.	21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
22 So habt auch ihr jetzt Trauer; doch ich werde euch wiedersehen, und euer Herz wird sich freuen, und eure Freude wird niemand von euch nehmen.	22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
23 Und an jenem Tage werdet ihr mich nach nicht mehr fragen. Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Um was ihr den Vater bitten werdet, das wird er euch geben in meinem Namen.	23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24 Bis jetzt habt ihr um nichts gebeten in meinem Namen; bittet, und ihr werdet empfangen, damit eure Freude vollkommen sei.	24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25 Dies habe ich in Bildern zu euch gesprochen; es kommt die Stunde, da ich nicht mehr in Bildern zu euch reden werde, sondern offen vom Vater euch Kunde gebe.	25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
26 An jenem Tage werdet ihr in meinem Namen bitten, und ich sage euch nicht, daß ich den Vater bitten werde für euch;	26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
27 denn der Vater selbst liebt euch, weil ihr mich geliebt und weil ihr geglaubt habt, daß ich von Gott ausgegangen bin.	27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
28 Ich bin ausgegangen vom Vater und in die Welt gekommen. Ich verlasse die Welt wieder und gehe zum Vater."	28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
29 Da sagten seine Jünger: "Siehe, jetzt sprichst du offen und redest nicht im Bild.	29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
30 Jetzt wissen wir, daß du alles weißt und nicht nötig hast, daß dich jemand fragt. Darum glauben wir, daß du von Gott ausgegangen bist."	30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
31 Jesus antwortete ihnen: "Jetzt glaubt ihr?	31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
32 Seht, es kommt die Stunde, und sie ist schon gekommen, da ihr zerstreut werdet, ein jeder an seinen Ort, und ihr mich allein lassen werdet; doch ich bin nicht allein, denn der Vater ist bei mir.	32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
33 Dies habe ich zu euch gesagt, damit ihr Frieden habt in mir. In der Welt habt ihr Drangsal; doch seid getrost: Ich habe die Welt überwunden."	33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
