Pattloch Bibel	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Herbei, ihr Nationen, hört zu! Ihr Völker, gebt acht! Es höre die Erde und was sie füllt; der Erdkreis und alles, was ihm entsprießt!	1 Come near and listen, you nations, pay attention, you peoples. Let the earth and its contents listen, theworld and its entire population.
2 Denn wider alle Nationen ist der Herr ergrimmt, er grollt gegen all ihre Heere. Gebannt hat er sie, überliefert der Schlachtung.	2 For Yahweh is angry with al the nations, enraged with al their hordes. He has vowed them todestruction, handed them over to slaughter.
3 Ihre Erschlagenen wirft man hin, ihrer Leichen Gestank steigt empor, Berge zerfließen von ihrem Blut.	3 Their dead wil be thrown away, the stench wil rise from their corpses, the mountains wil run with theirblood,
4 Alle Hügel vergehen. Der Himmel rollt sich zusammen wie eine Buchrolle; all sein Heer welkt ab, wie das Laub vom Weinstock verwelkt, wie vom Feigenbaum welkendes Laub.	4 the entire array of heaven wil fall apart. The heavens wil be rol ed up like a scrol and al their array willfade away, as fade the leaves fal ing from the vine, as fade those fal ing from the fig tree.
5 Hat sich mein Schwert berauscht am Himmel, dann fährt es auf Edom hinab, auf das Volk meines Bannes zum Gericht.	5 For my sword has drunk deep in the heavens: see how it now fal s on Edom, on the people vowed todestruction, to punish them.
6 Der Herr führt ein Schwert, triefend von Blut und gesättigt mit Fett, von der Lämmer und Böcke Blut, vom Nierenfett der Widder. Denn in Bozra hält ein Opfer der Herr, ein großes Schlachten in Edom.	6 Yahweh's sword is gorged with blood, it is greasy with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with thefat of the kidneys of rams. For Yahweh has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
7 Da werden Büffel mit jenen stürzen, Farren zusammen mit Stieren, so daß ihr Land sich berauscht mit Blut und ihr Erdreich sich sättigt mit Fett.	7 The wild oxen will fal with them, the bullocks with the bul s; their land wil be drenched with blood andtheir dust wil be greasy with fat.
8 Denn der Herr hat einen Rachetag, ein Jahr der Vergeltung für den Streit in Sion.	8 For this wil be Yahweh's day of vengeance, the year of retribution in Zion's lawsuit.
9 Seine Bäche wandeln sich um in Pech, sein Erdreich in Schwefel; sein Land wird zu brennendem Pech.	9 Its streams will turn into pitch, its dust into brimstone, its country wil turn into blazing pitch.
10 Es erlischt nicht bei Tag und Nacht, ständig steigt hoch sein Rauch; verwüstet bleibt es von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht, niemals mehr durchquert es ein Mensch.	10 Never quenched night or day, its smoke rising for ever, it wil lie waste age after age, no one wil travelthrough it for ever and ever.
11 Eulen und Käuzchen nehmen es in Besitz, Ohreulen und Raben wohnen darin; ausspannen wird darüber der Herr die Meßschnur der Verödung und die Setzwaage der Verödung.	11 It wil be the haunt of pelican and hedgehog, the owl and the raven wil live there; over it Yahweh wilstretch the measuring line of chaos and the plumb-line of emptiness.
12 Bockgestalten werden dort siedeln, seine Vornehmen werden nicht mehr sein; kein Königtum ruft man dort aus, all seine Fürsten sind nicht mehr da.	12 There will be no more nobles to proclaim the royal authority; there will be an end of al its princes.
13 Dornen schießen in seinen Palästen auf, Unkraut und Dorngestrüpp in seinen Burgen. Für Schakale wird es ein Tummelplatz, ein Gehege für Strauße.	13 Brambles wil grow in its bastions, nettles and thorn-bushes in its fortresses, it will be the lair ofjackals, an enclosure for ostriches.
14 Fuchs und Luchs begegnen sich, struppige Böcke treffen einander; auch die Nachteule wird dort rasten, eine Ruhestatt finden für sich.	14 Wild cats wil meet hyenas there, satyr will cal to satyr, there Lilith too wil lurk and find somewhere torest.
15 Die Pfeilschlange hat dort ihr Nest; sie legt, brütet aus und zieht Junge auf in seinem Schatten. Dort auch sammeln sich die Steppenweihen in Scharen.	15 The snake wil nest and lay eggs there, will hatch and gather its young into the shade; and there thevultures wil assemble, each one with its mate.
16 Forscht im Buche des Herrn und lest es nach! Keines jener Tiere bleibt aus. Dabei braucht sich keines um das andere zu kümmern; denn der Mund des Herrn hat es geboten, sein Odem hat sie versammelt.	16 Search in Yahweh's book, and read, not one of these will be missing, not one of them lacking a mate;for thus his mouth has ordained it, and his spirit has brought them together.
17 Er selbst warf ihnen das Los, mit der Meßschnur hat seine Hand es ihnen zugeteilt; auf immer werden sie es besitzen, von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht darin wohnen.	17 He has thrown the lot for each, his hand has measured out their share; they wil possess it for ever,and live there age after age.
