1 [Ein Lied. Psalm Asaphs.]	1 A song; a psalm of Asaph.
2 Herr, bleibe nicht still! Schweige nicht und ruhe nicht, o Gott!	2 God, do not be silent; God, be not still and unmoved!
3 Denn sieh, deine Feinde toben, und deine Gegner erheben das Haupt.	3 See how your enemies rage; your foes proudly raise their heads.
4 Wider dein Volk ersinnen sie listige Pläne, beraten sich gegen deine Schutzbefohlenen.	4 They conspire against your people, plot against those you protect.
5 Sie sprechen: "Kommt, tilgen wir sie aus als Volk, es schwinde die Erinnerung an Israels Namen!"	5 They say, "Come, let us wipe out their nation; let Israel's name be mentioned no more!"
6 Einmütig halten sie Rat, schließen ein Bündnis wider dich:	6 They scheme with one mind, in league against you:
7 die Zelte Edoms, die Ismaeliter, Moab und die Hagriter,	7 The tents of Ishmael and Edom, the people of Moab and Hagar,
8 Gebal, Ammon und Amalek, Philistäa samt den Bewohnern von Tyrus.	8 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia and the inhabitants of Tyre.
9 Auch Assur gesellt sich zu ihnen, leiht seinen Arm den Söhnen Lots. [Zwischenspiel]	9 Assyria, too, in league with them gives aid to the descendants of Lot. Selah
10 Handle an ihnen wie an Sisera, wie an Jabin am Bache Kischon,	10 Deal with them as with Midian; as with Sisera and Jabin at the torrent Kishon,
11 wie an Midian, das bei Endor vernichtet und zum Dünger des Bodens wurde.	11 Those destroyed at Endor, who became dung for the ground.
12 Mache ihre Fürsten wie Oreb und Seeb, wie Sebach und Zalmunna alle ihre Anführer!	12 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
13 Sie sprachen ja: "Wir wollen uns die Gefilde Gottes erobern!"	13 Who made a plan together, "Let us seize the pastures of God."
14 Mein Gott, mache sie der Räderdistel gleich, der Spreu vor dem Wind!	14 My God, turn them into withered grass, into chaff flying before the wind.
15 Wie Feuer, das den Wald versengt, wie die Flamme, die Berge entzündet,	15 As a fire raging through a forest, a flame setting mountains ablaze,
16 so jage sie mit deinem Orkan und schrecke sie mit deinem Sturm!	16 Pursue them with your tempest; terrify them with your storm.
17 Mache ihr Antlitz voll Schmach, damit sie deinen Namen suchen, o Herr!	17 Cover their faces with shame, till they pay you homage, LORD.
18 Für immer treffe sie Schande und Schrecken; sie sollen vor Scham zugrunde gehen!	18 Let them be dismayed and shamed forever; let them perish in disgrace.
19 So werden sie erkennen, daß du den Namen "Herr" trägst und allein der Höchste bist über die ganze Erde.	19 Show them you alone are the LORD, the Most High over all the earth.
