1 Als die Mauer aufgebaut war und ich die Torflügel hatte einsetzen lassen, wurden die Torhüter bestellt.	1 Now after the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and numbered the porters and singing men, and Levites:
2 Ich machte meinen Bruder Chanani und den Burgobersten Chananja zu Vorstehern über Jerusalem. Denn dieser war zuverlässiger und gottesfürchtiger als viele.	2 I commanded Hanani my brother, and Hananias ruler of the house of Jerusalem, (for he seemed as a sincere man, and one that feared God above the rest,)
3 Ich gebot ihnen: "Die Tore Jerusalems sind erst zu öffnen, wenn die Sonne zu brennen anfängt, und während die Wächter noch auf ihrem Posten bleiben, soll man die Tore wieder schließen und verriegeln. Ferner sind aus den Bewohnern Jerusalems Wachen zu bilden, teils für bestimmte Posten, teils vor dem Haus eines jeden."	3 And I said to them: Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened till the sun be hot. And while they were yet standing by, the gates were shut, and barred: and I set watchmen of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one by their courses, and every mall over against his house.
4 Die Stadt war ausgedehnt und groß; aber die Volkszahl war klein; es waren noch zu wenig Familien gegründet.	4 And the city was very wide and great, and the people few in the midst thereof, and the houses were not built.
5 Da gab mein Gott mir in den Sinn, die Edlen, die Stadträte und das Volk zu versammeln, um ein Geschlechtsregister anzulegen. Ich fand das Verzeichnis jener, die zuerst zurückgekehrt waren. Ich fand darin geschrieben:	5 But God had put in my heart, and I assembled the princes and magistrates, and common people, to number them: and I found a book of the number of them who came up at first, and therein it was found written:
6 Dies sind die Angehörigen der Provinz Juda, die aus der Gefangenschaft der Verbannung, wohin sie der König Nebukadnezar von Babel geführt hatte, wegzogen und nach Jerusalem und Juda heimkehrten, ein jeder in seine Stadt.	6 These are the children of the province, who came up from the captivity of them that had been carried away, whom Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon had carried away, and who returned into Judea, every one into his own city.
7 Sie kamen mit Serubbabel, Jesua, Nehemia, Asarja, Raamja, Nachamani, Mordekaj, Bilschan, Misperet, Bagoi, Nechum und Baana. 61 Folgende sind aus Tel-Melach, Tel-Charscha, Kerub, Addon und Immer gekommen und konnten nicht angeben, ob ihre Familie und ihr Geschlecht aus Israel stamme:	61 And these are they that came up from Telmela, Thelharsa, Cherub, Addon, and Emmer: and could not shew the house of their fathers, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel.

70 Manche von den Familienhäuptern gaben für den Bauschatz 20 000 Drachmen Gold und 2 200 Minen Silber.	70 And some of the heads of the families gave unto the work. Athersatha gave into the treasure a thousand drama of gold, fifty bowls, and five hundred and thirty garments for priests.
71 Was das übrige Volk gab, betrug 20 000 Drachmen Gold, 2 000 Minen Silber und 37 Priesterkleider.	71 And some of the heads of families gave to the treasure of the work, twenty thousand drama of gold, and two thousand two hundred pounds of silver.
72 Die Priester, Leviten, Torhüter, die Sänger, ein Teil des Volkes und die Tempeldiener, kurz, ganz Israel, ließen sich in ihren Städten nieder. Als der siebte Monat heranrückte, waren die Israeliten bereits in ihren Städten.	72 And that which the rest of the people gave, was twenty thousand drama of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver, and sixty-seven garments for priests.
	73 And the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singing men, and the rest of the common people, and the Nathinites, and all Israel dwelt in their cities.
