1 Auch die Nachkommen Aarons hatten ihre Dienstabteilungen. Die Söhne Aarons waren Nadab, Abihu, Eleasar und Itamar.	1 The descendants of Aaron also were divided into classes. The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
2 Nadab und Abihu starben vor ihrem Vater und hatten keine Söhne. Daher erlangten nur Eleasar und Itamar das Priesteramt.	2 Nadab and Abihu died before their father, leaving no sons; therefore only Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.
3 David sowie Zadok von den Nachkommen Eleasars und Achimelech von den Söhnen Itamars teilten sie gruppenweise für ihren Dienst ein.	3 David, with Zadok, a descendant of Eleazar, and Ahimelech, a descendant of Ithamar, assigned the functions for the priestly service.
4 Dabei stellte es sich heraus, daß die Söhne Eleasars zahlreicher an Häuptern der Männer waren als die Söhne Itamars. So teilte man den Söhnen Eleasars sechzehn Oberhäupter zu, entsprechend den Familien, und den Söhnen Itamars nur acht, entsprechend ihren Familien.	4 But since the descendants of Eleazar were found to be more numerous than those of Ithamar, the former were divided into sixteen groups, and the latter into eight groups, each under its family head.
5 Man teilte diese wie jene durch das Los ein. Denn heilige Fürsten und Gottesfürsten waren unter den Söhnen Eleasars wie auch bei den Nachkommen Itamars.	5 Their functions were assigned impartially by lot, for there were officers of the holy place, and officers of the divine presence, descended both from Eleazar and from Ithamar.
6 Der levitische Schreiber Schemaja, der Sohn Netanels, schrieb sie im Beisein des Königs, der Fürsten, des Priesters Zadok, Ebjatars, des Sohnes Achimelechs, und der Familienhäupter der Priester und Leviten auf. Je eine Familie und nochmal eine wurden ausgelost für Eleasar und je eine für Itamar.	6 The scribe Shemaiah, son of Nethanel, a Levite, made a record of it in the presence of the king, and of the leaders, of Zadok the priest, and of Ahimelech, son of Abiathar, and of the heads of the ancestral houses of the priests and of the Levites, listing two successive family groups from Eleazar before each one from Ithamar.

19 Das waren ihre Amtsordnungen für ihren Dienst, nach denen sie im Hause des Herrn sich einzustellen hatten, gemäß ihrer Verpflichtung, die sie durch ihren Ahnherrn Aaron erhielten, wie der Herr, der Gott Israels, ihm aufgetragen hatte.	19 This was the appointed order of their service when they functioned in the house of the LORD in keeping with the precepts given them by Aaron, their father, as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded him.
20 Zu den restlichen Leviten gehörten: Zu den Söhnen Amrams Schubael, zu den Söhnen Schubaels Jechdejahu.	20 Of the remaining Levites, there were Shubael, of the descendants of Amram, and Jehdeiah, of the descendants of Shubael;
21 Zu Rechabjahu gehörten: Von den Söhnen Rechabjahus war Jischschijja der erste.	21 Isshiah, the chief, of the descendants of Rehabiah;
22 Zu den Nachkommen Jizhars gehörte Schelomot, zu den Söhnen Schelomots Jachat.	22 Shelomith of the Izharites, and Jahath of the descendants of Shelomith.
23 Die Söhne Hebrons waren Jerijjahu, der zweite Amarjahu, der dritte Jachasiel, der vierte Jekamam.	23 The descendants of Hebron were Jeriah, the chief, Amariah, the second, Jahaziel, the third, Jekameam, the fourth.
24 Der Sohn Ussiels war Micha. Zu den Söhnen Michas gehörte Schamir.	24 The descendants of Uzziel were Micah; Shamir, of the descendants of Micah;
25 Der Bruder des Micha war Jischschijja. Zu den Söhnen Jischschijjas gehörte Sacharja.	25 Isshiah, the brother of Micah; and Zechariah, a descendant of Isshiah.
26 Die Söhne Meraris waren Machli und Muschi, der Sohn Jaasijjahus war Bani.	26 The descendants of Merari were Mahli, Mushi, and the descendants of his son Uzziah.
27 Meraris Nachkommen über Jaasijjahu waren Bani, Schoham, Sakkur und Ibri.	27 The descendants of Merari through his son Uzziah: Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.
28 Zu Machli gehörten Eleasar, der keine Söhne hatte,	28 Descendants of Mahli were Eleazar, who had no sons,
29 und Kisch. Der Sohn des Kisch war Jerachmeel.	29 and Jerahmeel, of the descendants of Kish.
30 Die Söhne Muschis waren Machli, Eder und Jeremot. Dies waren die Söhne der Leviten nach ihren Familien.	30 The descendants of Mushi were Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the descendants of the Levites according to their ancestral houses.
31 Auch sie warfen gleich ihren Brüdern, den Söhnen Aarons, im Beisein des Königs David, Zadoks, Achimelechs und der Familienhäupter der Priester und Leviten das Los. Dies taten die Familien des Oberhauptes wie auch die seines jüngsten Bruders.	31 They too, in the same manner as their relatives, the descendants of Aaron, cast lots in the presence of King David, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the priestly and levitical families; the more important family did so in the same way as the less important one.
